”Your Majesty! Are you okay!?”
With a loud voice, Puru rolled into my office. Three days ago, there was a huge explosion in the gate room where Mr. Yuuta and Ms. Claudel were supposed to leave, causing a lot of damage. I’m sure Puru rushed back from Elder Brother Yōmo’s territory after hearing about it.
”Oh, Puru…”
I let out a weak voice, and Puru hugged me tightly.
”Your Majesty, I’m right here with you, so please stay strong. What happened? Where are Yuuta and Lady Claudel?”
”Yeah, if I’m upset, everyone else will be worried too. Thank you, Chief Secretary.”
Right, during work, Puru was the Chief Secretary, not just Puru. But just having this person by my side really gives me strength.
”It seems that the explosion happened shortly after Mr. Yuuta and Ms. Claudel entered the gate, so I think they probably arrived safely over there, but we have no way to confirm. The gate and the control magic tools are all wrecked from the explosion and fire, and the important Sistemador is still in critical condition and unconscious.”
”I see… But an explosion? Was it an accident?”
”We’re still investigating that… The Chancellor just said they’re looking into both accident and terrorism.”
”Terrorism!? Why would that happen… Well, it’s not impossible. There are people who wouldn’t be happy about our country connecting with Yuuta’s, and that’s why I went to see Elder Brother Yōmo.”
”Anyway, right now, all we can do is pray for the safety of the two of them and the recovery of the Sistemador staff. But if the gate can’t be repaired, Mr. Yuuta and Ms. Claudel won’t be able to come back here…”
”Yeah…”
The Chief Secretary closed her eyes in silence, deep in thought, but after a while, she opened her eyes and spoke.
”Well then… I’ll join the Chancellor to help sort things out. Lord Rainsheyn, you must be having a tough time without your capable assistant, Ms. Claudel. Please, Your Majesty, be extra careful for now. I’ll give instructions for security from my side.”
”Got it, Chief Secretary. So… should we inform Ms. Akari and the others about this?”
”Let’s wait until we have a clearer picture. No matter how fast we try, it’ll take over a month just to relay the message… So, let’s prepare for a long battle this time.”
The Chief Secretary said firmly.

My surroundings twisted and turned, and I kept my eyes shut as much as possible to avoid feeling dizzy. I held onto Ms. Claudel’s hand tightly, not wanting to let go.
Suddenly, I felt like I was free-falling straight down, and with a thud, I landed on the ground, right next to Ms. Claudel, who also landed safely.
Whoa. The feeling of going through this gate is really unsettling. I think we’ve arrived, but I just want to zone out for a bit and not think about anything.
”Darling. It seems we’ve arrived… Is this your world, darling?”
Ms. Claudel was already standing up, but she doesn’t look too sick, huh?
”Yeah, probably…”
I said while looking around and was shocked.
…Where are we?
From what I heard from Ellulu, the gate should have been in Ms. Akari’s backyard when I fell with her. But this place… is it some big warehouse or something?
It’s dark, and I can’t really tell, but it seems like a pretty large building. Did Sistemador mess up the gate control? If so, I’m not even sure if this is my original world…
”Hey, darling… there’s no mana here, so I can’t light up with magic.”
”Ms. Claudel, something feels off. Please stick close to me and don’t wander around.”
”Oh dear. Are we getting started already?”
”No! Stay alert!!”
BANG! Suddenly, I heard a loud explosion behind me. Wait, was that a gunshot?
”Don’t move!!”
What the heck!? Someone just shouted at me out of nowhere!
”D-D-Darling… what are those creepy things…?”
Ms. Claudel looked scared, staring at something. Right. Elves can see better in the dark than humans. So, she’s seeing something I can’t. But still, creepy things…
WHAM!!
There was a huge noise, and suddenly everything in front of me went white. What the heck is this? A searchlight?
”No way! It’s too bright, I can’t see anything!!”
Ms. Claudel seemed blinded too. Then, out of nowhere, some big frog-like creatures jumped at me and Ms. Claudel, pinning us to the ground and holding us down.
”Damn it! What are you doing? Let me go! LET ME GO──!!”
…Come to think of it, the queen did say… the neighboring empire might be connected to our world… but no way… could it be!?

It’s been about 2 months since I came to Kashiwagi Manor.
Just like Yuuta predicted, my main job for now is analyzing and applying that radio equipment.
According to a human engineer named Shu, it’s about generating electromagnetic waves from electricity, and then using machines on both the sending and receiving ends to communicate by riding voices on those waves.
Well, I can manage the electricity part with a generator, but the real problem is how to create strong electromagnetic waves that can reach far away.
Then, the idea of amplifying it with magic came up in the research team, and I’m wrestling with that theory…
ugh, my head hurts…
”Hey, Big Sister Melon. Isn’t that from the lab? Can you really bring it home?”
Because of the lord’s policy, the research building gets locked up tight at night, so I can’t work overtime. But if I can’t organize my tasks, I’ve been sneaking materials and documents home to work on them myself, and Karin-chan has caught me doing it.
”It’s fine. The more I can advance the research, the better for them too.”
”But MelMel, don’t overdo it. I think Yuuta would get mad if he saw you.”
”Hey, Mama Akari. You absolutely can’t tell Yuuta, okay? By the way, Yuuta must have already arrived at the Royal Capital, right?”
”Yeah, if there weren’t any troubles on the way, he should’ve been there ages ago. I wonder when he’ll be back, my husband.”
”Right? Ahh, if only this magical radio was finished, we could have real communication with the Royal Capital from here.”
I said while licking the makeshift radio I built with alchemy parts.
”Wait, really?”
Karin asked, surprised.
”Yeah, in theory. But who knows when it’ll be done…”
”Well, if it gets finished after Dad comes back, it won’t matter anyway.”
True. I want to hear Yuuta’s voice too. But that night… Yuuta treated me like a real woman. That still makes me so happy. Ah, I want to see Yuuta soon. I wonder if we can get intimate again.
Thinking about that, I went to bed pretty late.
Then, close to dawn, I woke up feeling something was off, and Mama Akari rushed into my room.
”MelMel, it’s bad!! The research building is on fire!!”
”What!?”
I hurriedly changed and ran to the research building, and it seemed like the fire was almost out, but wow, it was completely burned down.
”Oh, Ms. Melon. What on earth happened…”
”Ah, Mr. Shu. I have no idea. Did someone mess up with fire…?”
Other staff members were gathering outside in the cold, lamenting the disaster.
”Damn it. This ruins 2 months of our work!!”
The research team leader stomped his feet in frustration, and I felt the same way.
Before long, our lord, Sir Aaron, rushed to the scene.
”Oh, my lord. I’m really sorry!!”
The team leader was bowing deeply to apologize, but Sir Aaron interrupted him.
”Oh, it’s not your fault. This… is arson!!”
”What? My lord, how could this happen…”
”Just now, the watermill and power facility by the southern river were engulfed in flames and completely burned down. This… is an act of terrorism!”
”No way!!”
Everyone present was stunned into silence, frozen in shock by Mr. Aaron’s words.
