Chapter 240 Departure of the Low-Floor Group

”Alright, do your best out there. ── I know I’m being a bit pushy, but don’t do anything reckless, okay?”
All the members are gathered in front of the clan house.
The ‘Low-Floor Group’ is about to set off to the ‘Raetia Great Labyrinth’.
”I’m fine. I’ll take responsibility and lead everyone.”
”You’re kinda overthinking it, ya know? ──But don’t worry, I’ll be right there with you, Liz.”
Gièze, holding the reins of the carriage and looking a bit nervous, gets a sigh from Simona, who turns to Liz.
Sister Karina, Eluda, and Noo hop into Gièze’s carriage, while Noriss and Lotta get into Simona’s.
Gorge is already mounted on his trusty steed.
”I’m counting on you, Simona…”
”Well, ‘less somethin’ real crazy happen, they’ll come back safe an’ sound. I garauntee it. An’, ya know me an’ Gorge’re taggin’ along jus’in case, right? So don’t worrty so much.”
Liz, who’s probably worried since she can’t go with them, has that concern written all over her face, and Simona responds with a smile.
”Our training and practice are perfect!”
”W-we’ve had plenty of meetings too…”
”We’re feeling confident!”
Lotta, Sister Karina, and Noriss call out to Liz.
They all seem to be concerned about her worried expression.
”Eluda’s joining this group for the first time, but everyone’s really in sync, so it’ll be fine, Liz-Liz.”
”Noo’s gonna do her best too~.”
Eluda and Noo peek out from behind Sister Karina.
”Alright, let’s go!”
Gorge takes the reins of his horse and turns it around.
”W-wait, Gorge…!”
Stepping in front of the members who are seeing them off is… Asuka.
”Sh-show me your cheek.”

Gorge leaned forward from the carriage and bowed his head… Asuka gave him a light kiss.

”It’s… it’s a charm.”
The newlywed couple was showing off.
”Y-yeah… right, Ms. Kazumi!”
Seeing those 2, Gièze called out to Kazumi.
”Huh?”
”That thing… the, the charm…!”

”Hehehe♡ Finally, Gièze is recognizing the effects of my ‘charm’!”
Kazumi jumped onto the driver’s seat of Gièze’s carriage and kissed her cheek.
”W-w-wait for me…!”
”Of course, Eluda wants one too, Kazumie.”
”Noo wants Lady Kazumi’s ‘charm’ too~.”
”Okay, okay♡”
Kazumi gave ‘charms’ to Sister Karina, Eluda, and Noo, who peeked out from the driver’s seat.
”Um… what the heck is that?”
Simona froze at the driver’s seat of another carriage.
”It’s a specialty charm from ‘Famière.’ It works really well for Rena too, you know?”
Rena jumped next to her and unexpectedly kissed Simona’s cheek.
”Wha!?”
”This way, Simona will be okay too!”
”I want one too!”
”C-can I have one too?”
Lotta and Noriss leaned in at the driver’s seat.
Even though Lotta had offered herself, she puffed her cheeks for a moment at Noriss’s request, but…
”W-well, it’s a charm, so…”
She muttered before happily turning her cheek toward Rena.
”Everyone, be careful, okay?”
Rena said that and kissed everyone’s cheeks.
”I-I just got… k-kissed by Rena…”
Noriss mumbled, blushing, and it goes without saying that Lotta smacked the back of his head.

”Well then… I’m off!”
Gièze waved to us as the carriage pulled away from the clan house.
Gorge’s horse and Simona’s carriage followed behind.
From the back of the carriage, everyone waved their arms, and Rena’s new ‘Clan Bracelet’ sparkled on their wrists.
It’s a magic tool that can check your current location, which has been improved to track the location of anyone wearing the bracelet by using the ‘Detection’ magic.
I waved back at everyone and saw off the ‘Low Floor Group’ as they set out.

”Gièze… looked good.”
As I was heading into the mansion, Asuka called out to me.
”Yeah. She seemed a bit nervous at first, but her face when she was leaving was full of confidence.”
I replied and took a quick glance at Asuka’s face.
She had a kind expression.
More like an older sister than a mentor, I guess.
”This morning, we ended up in the bath together. …She said something good happened.”
”Oh, really…”
I felt a bit embarrassed, like she knew everything.
”I’m expecting good results. We can’t slack off either.”
After giving me a smile, Asuka went inside the mansion.
(Thinking back, when Kazumi and I woke up… she wasn’t in bed anymore.)
Last night, Gièze had slept between me and Kazumi, but she must’ve woken up early to go take a bath.
She’s really serious, or whatever you want to call it…

”Okay, I’m off to the store! Uncle seems to be arriving pretty early too. I’ll show him around the shop, then I’ll be right back after leaving him in charge. Then I’ll dash to get ready!”
”You don’t have to rush. Aluda will prepare everything for you.”
Meluda hurried out of the mansion.
Aluda called out to her from behind, and Meluda waved her hand back as she ran off.
”Alright, Dorothy and I are going shopping!”
”what should Uu get?”
”Uu’s coming along too. We’ll also buy ingredients and daily necessities for the Clan House.”
Martina and Dorothy took Uu with them in the carriage to head to the village market.
”I’m gonna get ready early and help Ms. Hanna, but… what about Hiroya?”
”Maybe I should get ready too. ──What about Rena and Liz?”
”Me and Rena are planning to discuss the exploration. We’re gonna attack from the Third Floor, you know. ──Is Asuka coming too?”
”Yeah. I wanna see what those discussions are like.”
”…Once we decide, we’ll have a meeting with everyone in the afternoon. ──Come on, Liz and Asuka, let’s go!”
Liz and Asuka were led by Rena up to the second floor.
”Hey, Hiro… could you hang out with me for a bit?”
Aluda tugged at the hem of my clothes.
”Sure, but what’s up?”
”I made some improvements to your armor… I wanted you to try it on…”
”Wait, really? That makes me super happy!”
”Alright, I’m gonna head to my room then.”
Kazumi also went up to the second floor.

”This… is what I wanted to show you…”
As I sat in a chair waiting in the cylindrical room at the back left of the third floor, Aluda opened a wooden box on the table in front of me.
Inside was familiar armor, but it looked a bit different.
”I removed the shoulder armor for your mobility and to reduce the damage taken. Instead, since I heard you got kicked in the stomach a few times… I added leather armor to your left side. Also, I remade the gauntlets… wait, what?”
As Aluda explained while taking out each piece from the box, she tilted her head and rummaged through it.
”Ah! I left the gauntlets at the shop since I remade them!”
”What should we do…” Aluda said, flustered.
”Should we go get them? I also wanna say hi to uncle while we’re at it…”
”Yeah, that sounds good. I’d like to adjust anything that doesn’t fit while Hiro’s here.”
”Alright then… let’s go.”
I took Aluda’s hand and left the room.
