Later, while having a lunch meeting at the Guild with Feria, we were discussing future plans when I noticed something written on the blackboard hanging on the wall.
”Hunter Training School now accepting students… for details, visit the counter.”
”Hmm? What’s wrong, Kent?”
Milly reacted to my mumbling.
”I saw ‘Hunter Training School’ written on the blackboard and was wondering what kind of place it is.”
”Oh, that. The Hunter Training School teaches the basics of lower-tier combat jobs.”
”Lower-tier combat jobs?”
When I voiced my confusion, Lina jumped in.
”Hey, you weren’t paying attention in my class! I told you about the 7 jobs: ‘Warrior’, ‘Swordsman’, ‘Scout’, ‘Hunter’, ‘Gunslinger’, ‘Magician’, and ‘Healer’! The Hunter Training School helps you acquire jobs like ‘Warrior’, ‘Swordsman’, ‘Scout’, ‘Hunter’, and ‘Gunslinger’!”
Wow, so it’s like a vocational school…
I’ve been wanting to get into a combat job, so maybe I should enroll.
”Mr. Kent, are you planning to join the Hunter Training School? Do you have a specific job in mind?”
Feria asked eagerly.
”By the way, Mr. Kent, what color is your ID card?”
I made my ID card float above my hand.
”Whoa! Oh──mmmmmm!”
Feria let out a surprised shout, and Annabella quickly covered her mouth.
”Ms. Feria, this is confidential. I believe there will be an official announcement about Sir Kent’s card color soon, but for now, it must remain a secret. If it leaks, Margrave Heido will execute you, understand?”
Feria nodded with a pale face.
”Ugh, Mr. Kent, please put your card away! Please, I’m begging you!”
Seeing Feria flustered, I decided to put the card away.
”If it’s Mr. Kent, there’s no need to worry about acquisition… I’m [Green], so I’m quite troubled.”
”Starting tomorrow, I’ll be staying with Ms. Miriallia, so I’m wondering if I should remove [Waitress] and acquire [Maid].”
I called Feria’s card from the party list on the menu.

Annabella asks hesitantly.
”Are there job opportunities for combat roles?”
”For combat roles, you could become a ‘Monster Hunter,’ a ‘Kingdom Soldier,’ or a ‘Guard.’ But I won’t allow you to take any of those jobs!”
”Why not?”
”Kent! Those 3 jobs involve risking your life! I can’t let you work in a place like that!”
Milly sounds like an overly protective mother, and it seems Annabella agrees.
”Then what about you? Will you become a ‘Guild Member’ or a ‘Researcher’ at the Magic Guild? If you pass the Magic Certification Exam, you could become a Magician or a Healer.”
”Ah, but what if Mr. Kent doesn’t have any magical power?”
Feria hits a sore spot.
”I hadn’t considered that possibility… Kent is a ‘Lost One,’ after all. There’s a chance he might have no magical power at all.”
Since the conversation was getting nowhere, I made a decision.
”For now, I’ll just join the Hunter Training School to get a job qualification.”
”Only the Hunter Training School! You’re just getting a job for self-defense!”
Milly emphasizes this.
”Elder Sister… you’re being too overprotective.”
”Lina! Carelessness and overconfidence can lead to the worst outcomes!”
Milly’s excitement was getting too high, so before she could prevent me from even entering the Hunter Training School, I took Feria and moved to the reception counter.
