When I woke up in the morning and checked the log, I saw that my Gigolo level had gone up from 5 to 7.
It was probably because I was really getting into my work (activating the Sexual Prowess skill).

Unfortunately, neither of them would concede to losing.
I reluctantly agreed, worn down by their stubbornness.
I’ll aim for a draw as much as possible.

My first opponent in the match was a guy from Majin who was also there yesterday.
He was a young man in his late teens, just like me.
I was nervous until the match started, but once I faced my opponent, he was nowhere near as strong as the instructor from the first day.
His slashing speed, feints, and the way he deflected with his shield were all slow, and my horizontal slash caught him in the side.
”Winner! Trainee Kent!”
The instructor declared the result.
The guy who took the hit knelt down.
”I thought you were just some rich kid with a girl, but you’re actually pretty strong…”
Hearing his words, I realized my situation.
Looking at it, a young man in his late teens with a woman who looks like a maid coming to the training ground would naturally be seen as some noble or rich fool here for fun.
Maybe the instructor thought he’d teach that fool a lesson by taking me under his wing.
I was a bit shocked by the evaluation from those around me, but I pulled myself together and continued to fight one match after another.
The second opponent was not much different in skill from the first guy, and I kept winning against the men.
Surprisingly, this isn’t that big of a deal.
I was on cloud nine after winning 4 matches in a row.
The remaining opponents were Annabella, Feria, and a young man who seemed to be a woman from Asura.
”Next, Trainee Kent vs. Trainee Aurelia, get into position!”
I took my starting position and readied my sword and shield.
My opponent was apparently named Aurelia.
It’s definitely a woman’s name, right?
”Alright, let’s begin!”
I was distracted by unnecessary thoughts and let my guard down.
Aurelia seemed to sense my lapse in focus and launched an attack as soon as we started.
Bang!
I barely managed to block a slash aimed at my shoulder with my shield.
However, Aurelia’s strike was as heavy as the instructor’s, and I failed to deflect it.

When I came to, I was lying on a bench in the same training ground as yesterday.

The training must be over; was it only a half day today?

Annabella and Feria were looking at me with concern.
I noticed a warm sensation spreading in my side where I had been stabbed.
I remembered that this warmth was from the healing light (heal) that Milly had used on me before.
Speaking of which, the instructor had said a healer was on standby.
That person must be the one casting the healing light (heal) on me.
”Ah, Sir Kent. You’re awake! How’s the pain?”
Annabella asked anxiously.

I said that and hugged Lina.

Lina stiffened in my arms.
There was just a slight sense of discomfort.

[Swordsmanship I]… Increases physical attack power by 25% when equipped with sword, greatsword, or 2-handed sword. Consumes 5 skill points.
[Martial Arts I]… Increases physical attack power by 25% when unarmed. Consumes 5 skill points.
[Defense Technique I]… Increases physical defense power by 25% when equipped with shield or large shield. Consumes 5 skill points.
These skills boost physical attack and defense; they are skills that a hunter or soldier should acquire.
However, I currently don’t have enough skill points to acquire them.
Unfortunately, the only way to get them is to level up my job.
But Annabella and Feria, who were able to acquire ‘Warrior,’ were very happy.
As we were leaving, I told the instructor, who was drinking at the Guild’s cafeteria, that I had acquired the ‘Warrior’ job, and he was surprised.
”I thought trainee Annabella and you would be able to acquire it soon, but I didn’t expect trainee Feria to have done so… There are strange things in the world.”
The instructor was in a good mood, having had some drinks during the day.

The instructor was grinning as he looked at me.
