Volume 2 Chapter 26 Assault Operation

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 The morning dawned.

I had decided to cancel my duties (the activation of the Sexual Prowess Skill) at my own will the night before.

Although Annabella and Milly had urged me to perform my duties, I couldn’t bring myself to do so after hearing Beatrice’s story.

Knowing that there is a girl who is being held captive and used as a man’s plaything today too, I couldn’t help but feel concerned.

There are women who sell their bodies as professionals, but in this case, it’s a woman who has been deceived and placed in a situation against her will, which bothers me.

Bending a woman’s will and restraining her freedom for a man’s desires so that she will service him.

When I think about it carefully, my Skill might be similar.

However, whether it’s called hypocrisy or not, there must be appropriate punishment for the treatment of women done forcibly and ignoring their will.

I cut off my thoughts and headed to the reception room, where the strategy meeting would take place.

* * *

Upon arriving at the reception room, I found the lord, Arbalest, was already there.

”Kent, you’re early. You sure brought me a troublesome matter,”

Arbalest had been summoned by Milly to the mansion in the middle of the night yesterday.

Given the nature of the situation, Arbalest had only brought a few guards and a male deputy with him.

”You can ignore it, but does that mean there will be no women aspiring to be hunters? Or is hunting a man’s job?”

I gently expressed my discontent to Arbalest.

In fact, half of the residents of Abyss Vena are women, and I made this statement knowing that the female ratio among hunters is nearly 40 percent.

”I know this even without Kent telling me; given the current state of Abyss Vena, we cannot even defend ourselves without the strength of women. But, of all things, why Silver Wolf? If such a large Hunting Group is shaken by an incident, it will also affect monster hunting!”

Arbalest was deep in thought, holding his head.

The door opened, and Milly and the members of ‘Crimson Bride’ along with Beatrice entered.

 Milly spoke up casually.

”Uncle, I’m sorry for calling you out in the middle of the night. Now that we have gathered all the information, I would like to start the strategy meeting.”

 Everyone took their respective seats.

It seemed that Milly would be the one facilitating the meeting.

”First, regarding the number of women hunters victimized by the Silver Wolf executive Gruza’s abduction and assault, according to information provided by the Hunter Guild, in the past 2 years, 75 female hunters labeled as beginners with an HR under 19 have joined Silver Wolf, out of which 25 accepted quests after joining, and currently, 50 are missing.”

Fifty people… that’s way too many.

Did it really go unnoticed that so many people were missing?

Arbalest grimaced upon hearing Milly’s numbers.

”Next, regarding the information provided by the Dorman family, it seems Gruza has been selling women hunters who no longer resist as s*x sl*ves to wealthy farmers on the outskirts of the royal capital, lining his own pockets. Currently, he reportedly resides in a large mansion near Noble Street and Shopping Street with 4 to 5 mistresses.”

The members stirred at Milly’s comment.

Kidnap them, r*pe them, and then sell them as slaves once they can’t resist.

 That’s the worst.

Arbalest’s complexion turned a deep shade of black.

It seemed somehow that a murderous intent was leaking out as well.

”According to a report from Silver Wolf Hunting Group leader Matthew, regarding the location of the ‘Spear Room’, there are currently 5 such places established in Hunter town, and it seems around 30 women are captive there. Each ‘Spear Room’ is reportedly guarded by about 20 of Gruza’s subordinates, who are also participants. This information aligns with that from the Dorman family.”

”Twenty people at one location? Does Gruza have a hundred subordinates? That’s about half of Silver Wolf’s number!”

Milly shook her head and answered Arbalest’s question.

”It seems that there are about 20 Silver Wolf hunters under Gruza’s command, and the rest are free hunters and soldiers bound by money and women.”

”Why does Gruza have so much money? Even if he is an executive of the Hunting Group, isn’t that excessive funding?”

 Once again, Arbalest asked Milly.

”It seems that not only is he involved in human trafficking, but he is also engaging in extortion and mismanaging the funds of the Hunting Group.”

”What is Matthew doing… that brainless musclehead!”

After cursing the leader of the Silver Wolf Hunting Group, Arbalest slammed the table.

”So, regarding this operation, initially we were considering rescuing the women who are being held captive and then conducting a raid with the guard team; however, due to the large scale of the enemy, we will borrow the guard team’s strength and take advantage of the confusion to rescue the women ourselves. We have also secured the participation of the main forces of the Silver Wolf Hunting Group, so I don’t think we will be lacking in manpower.”

Silver Wolf probably wants to demonstrate to the lord, Arbalest, that they can cleanse themselves internally.

”Is Milly going to lead the assault team?”

”Yes, our Hunting Group will forcefully storm in with a carriage, and the 3 of us──myself, Beatrice, and Manon──will take advantage of the confusion to infiltrate, rescue the women, and then move on to the next base.”

I see, those 3 will be hard to detect due to their infiltration skills, making it easier to get in.

If that’s the case, my job will be to defend the storming carriage.

It’s fine to defend the carriage with Aurelia, Feria, Ines, Annabella, and Lina, and let Lana and Talia take charge of the women that Milly and the others have taken in.

I apologize to the women we’ve taken in, but if we pack them in like sushi, we should be able to fit everyone.

However, I’m still uneasy with just a 4-horse team, so we should strengthen the pulling power with a 6-horse team.

That day, the meeting that started in the morning continued until early afternoon, and we finished our preparations just in time.

* * *

As night fell, Hunter street was bustling, but eventually, as the night deepened, foot traffic became sparse.

In a certain house on the outskirts of Hunter street, shady-looking men seemed to be gathered, indulging in vulgar conversation.

At that moment, a light bullet was shot up into the sky.

”That’s the signal. Let’s go, everyone.”

I gave instructions to Aurelia, who was sitting at the driver’s seat.

”Yes, Lord Kent! We will charge in!”

The carriage took off as the driver whipped the horses.

The speeding carriage slid into the yard of the house.

”Alright, Kent will wait inside the carriage with Lana. You mustn’t do anything dangerous! It’s a promise!”

Although Milly is about to do something quite dangerous herself, she apparently won’t let me participate.

I was promised that I would take command from inside the carriage, given my role as combat commander.

I know I lack strength, but Ines, Annabella, and Feria should be on the same level as me; however, Milly wouldn’t allow me to participate in the fight.

”I understand, so Milly, please be careful too. Beatrice and Manon, please be careful as well!”

I give instructions to the defense group after sending the 3 out.

The area is already in chaos with the guards, Silver Wolf hunters, and Gruza’s subordinates.

”Since we’re already in chaos, stay close to the carriage while fighting. Annabella, please follow Talia. Try not to kill if possible. Leave the fighting to the guards and Silver Wolf guys. You only need to fend off those who get close to the carriage.”

 ””””Yes””””

The members who received the instructions rush out.

 I called out to Lina.

”Lina! Can you cast incapacitating magic?”

”I can’t. Incapacitating spells are mixed magic and too troublesome, so I haven’t learned them.”

”Then, just use a silent Fire Arrow or magic of another attribute. The power of Lina’s magic might end up causing fatalities.”

”You’re considering the lives of villains? Well, that does sound like you, Kent… I understand, I’ll reduce the power.”

It seems that Lina is willing to accommodate my intentions.

While it’s unnecessary to hold back when dealing with monsters, is it a luxury for me to want to avoid having Lina and the others get their hands dirty when it comes to peoples?

I was thinking while watching the commotion outside the carriage.
