The day after the fierce battle with the black demon, I decided to declare a rest day for everyone to recharge their spirits for the registration meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
And now, I was shopping on the Shopping Street with Annabella and Talia.
Since we received the bounty from the defeated King Toad and various other rewards, I had one big silver coin and 3 silver coins in my pocket.
With some money in hand, I asked Milly about the store that sells the cream Annabella has been wanting for a while and planned to surprise her with it as a gift.
So, today I had asked Talia to help me search for the comb we promised to find together.
”Talia, what kind of comb do you like? Or would you prefer a hairbrush?”
”Hmm, I would like a brush that can take care of all my fur. Please don’t get something too cheap.”
Today, without the supervisor Lana by her side, Talia seems to be in high spirits.
”Alright, but if it’s too expensive, I can’t buy it, so let’s keep my wallet in mind.”
”I understand, Sir Kent.”
Noticing Annabella’s envious gaze towards Talia, who seemed to be in high spirits, I thought to myself, ‘I’ll get a present for Annabella, who has helped me just as much as Milly, so just wait for me.’

Annabella, who had been led out under the pretext of guiding me, informed me that the specialty shop for combs and brushes was nearby.

The shopkeeper took out a brush that was in a transparent box like a display case.

”Miss, please don’t make that face. This brush is currently on backorder in Garuda. We’re offering it today because you’re an acquaintance of Lady Miriallia, so, well, please give it a try.”
The shopkeeper seemed quite confident and granted permission to use it.

After brushing Talia’s hair 2 or 3 times, her expression changed.

Next, she began brushing the body hair around her ears.

Talia continued brushing with enthusiasm.
”It seems you’ve really taken a liking to it. I think that brush is the best for brushing. As for decorative combs, a beautifully crafted wooden comb or a silver comb adorned with gemstones would also suit you, Miss.”
The shopkeeper shrewdly showed Talia an expensive-looking comb.
Talia stopped brushing and began to gaze intently at the comb presented to her.
She truly seemed to be enjoying her freedom today.
Afterward, the shopkeeper and Talia started discussing various things about the comb, so I, who had little interest in combs, was a bit bored.

Talia jolted.

It seems I wasn’t caught.
Since Talia’s reaction was amusing, I decided to try again.

It seemed Talia noticed my mischief, but she prioritized checking the combs instead.
At this rate, my pranks without anyone to stop me would escalate further.

”This is a comb made from precious stones that don’t come from the south.”

It seems Talia was feeling it, staring at the comb while her legs trembled together.
What incredible determination.
I wonder what drives her to that extent?
And at last, the time of parting arrived.
”Miss, you look unwell. You’re even sweating. Are you really okay?”
”I’m fine. I won’t back down over something like this, and since Sir Kent is buying me a comb, I want to choose one that’s meticulously crafted.”
Talia’s words didn’t reach my ears, as I was too preoccupied with thinking about what prank to pull next.
So, I came up with a way to give Talia even more stimulation.
Soft and hard.
After a gentle brushing, I decided to try brushing roughly and vigorously.

”The earlier southern gemstone comb was wonderful, but it probably exceeds Sir Kent’s budget, so do you have something a bit cheaper?”
It seems she doesn’t feel much with the soft brushing.
Hmm, let’s go for the hard brushing.
With this, Talia should fall.
Before I knew it, my prank had taken on the aspect of a challenge with Talia.
”Well then, how about this smaller comb? The arrangement and design of the gemstones are almost the same as the earlier one, but this is half the size. I think it’s a good deal.”
”That sounds good. I think I can afford it within this budget.”
At that moment, I activated the hard brushing.

”Nnngggggg! It’s hitting. The brush is touching the scalp, ohhh! No, not here… Nnngggggg!”
She collapsed onto the shop floor, her legs trembling and giving way.
When I looked, there was a puddle forming on the floor.

It’s cutting it close to my budget, but I can manage to buy it.
Since I’ve already caused a mess in the shop, this will have to do.
”I’ll buy it.”
I pulled out one gold coin from my stash and received 2 silver coins as change.
”Thank you for your business.”
I had only the boar bristle brush wrapped in a bag, while I took the decorative comb as is, and I inserted it into the bangs of Talia, who stood there looking dejected.
When I put in that decorative comb, it turned into something like a little tiara due to the silverwork and gemstones.
”Talia, you look so beautiful. I have no confidence that I could pick a comb that suits you this well.”
Talia was silent and looking down, as if she was angry.
I leaned closer to Talia’s ear and quietly asked her.
”I thought you could handle it, but did the unexpectedly intense brushing feel so good that you… got carried away?”
”You idiot, Sir Kent… It would be fine to do that as much as you want when we’re on duty, but doing something like that in public will lead to strange rumors about you, Sir Kent.”
”Sorry, sorry! You looked like you were enjoying the brushing so much, so I just…”
”As I’ve said many times, my tail is quite sensitive, so please handle it with care. The other day, while we were on duty, you took advantage of me being too exhausted to move and played with my tail, didn’t you?”
”Oh, you were awake at that time? I thought you were asleep, so I was just having fun… But it’s okay now. I’ve got grooming tools, so from now on, I’ll brush Talia’s tail myself.”
”Sir Kent, you big dummy! Please listen to what I’m saying! Waaah!”
Talia ran out of the store crying.
I guess she really was angry, after all?
I got a bit carried away; as a sign of my sincerity in apologizing, I’ll make sure to brush her thoroughly next time we’re on duty.
”Ahh… you made her cry. Today is Sir Kent’s fault.”
It seems like Annabella was watching without actually looking.
I thought to myself that she could have just stopped me, but since I was planning a surprise gift afterward, I kept my mouth shut.
Annabella and I greeted the shopkeeper and left the store.
”Well, I’m worried about Talia, so shall we head home?”
”Ah, sorry. I want to stop by one more place, so just let me drop in there.”
I headed to the place Milly had told me about.
The shop was tucked away in a narrow alley, one street in from the main street of Shopping Street.
”Ah, here it is.”
It seemed Annabella recognized the store name.
”This is the shop that sells the cream Annabella wanted, right?”
I took Annabella’s hand and entered the store.
”Welcome~ Oh, Ms. Annabella, it’s been a while~”
With her glasses, she looked like a middle-aged man, but in reality, she was probably a middle-aged woman.
It seemed Annabella had come to buy from here a few times at Milly’s request.
”So, are you with a young man today? Well, holding hands, is he Ms. Annabella’s new husband?”
Teased by the female shopkeeper, Annabella’s face turned bright red all at once.
”N-no, that’s not it! This gentleman is Lady Miriallia’s husband. He’s not someone like my husband!”
”Is that so? Then let’s keep it that way. So, what brings you here today?”
”Well, I asked Milly and heard there’s a cream that makes your skin beautiful, so I thought I’d buy it for Annabella.”
The female shopkeeper became serious upon hearing my words.
”Hey, you’re not planning to pay for that cream with MilMil’s money, right? If that’s the case, I have nothing to sell you!”
”No, it’s fine. Even if I look like this, I’m actually a Monster Hunter. I earned that money with my rewards.”
The shopkeeper looked shocked.
”At your age, you’re a Monster Hunter? You’re only about 15 or 16, right? That’s impressive. So, you’re buying a gift for Ms. Annabella, a prospective mistress? You’ve got quite a knack for it, kid.”
”No, I’m telling you, Sir Kent and I aren’t that kind of relationship!”
”I like you, kid. I’m a fan of capable men. I’ll sell you the Gold Extra Beauty Cream as a special treat.”
Saying that, the shopkeeper disappeared into the back of the store.
Once it was just the two of us, Annabella kept glancing over at me.
”Sir Kent, I’m sorry. Surely, someone with an old and frail body like mine isn’t suited for such things?”
It seems Annabella has misunderstood why I came to buy the cream.
As for me, I intend it as a return gift to express my gratitude, but it seems Annabella isn’t interpreting it like that.
”I think I’ve had the most intimate moments with Annabella.”

The shop owner placed the bottle she was holding down on the counter with a thud.
It sounds really suspicious that just applying it makes you a year younger, but since Milly vouched for its effectiveness, I decided to trust it.
”You’ll see results in a week. If it doesn’t work, I’ll refund you, so come on over. The price can be the same as what we sell to MilMil. Um, it was 5 silver coins, right? Ms. Annabella?”
”Ah, yes, that’s correct. But are you sure it’s okay for me to take it?”
Annabella was still trying to be modest even at this point.
”Well, since this boy is paying for it, and he’s the one giving it to you, you should just take it.”
”That’s true. Sir Kent, I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I’ll provide even better service than before, so please take care of me.”
Annabella smiled and expressed her gratitude toward me.
That’s the very words I wanted to hear.
I paid the shop owner and handed the cream to Annabella.
Since Annabella was tearfully happy, I quietly advised her.
”Since you’re already doing it that many times now, if Annabella becomes younger, it’s going to be quite something. Be prepared for that.”
Annabella listened to my advice and replied with a laugh, “Okay.”
After that, having finished my errands and completely emptied my wallet, I headed home with Annabella.
