The next day, Milly received 9 quests, mainly focusing on F to D class quests from ☆ to ☆☆☆☆.
The destinations were said to involve subduing monsters that appear near the foot of Mount Mylon and gathering materials.
If we set out now, we could reach the destination by early afternoon, so we decided to depart immediately.
Fortunately, I had informed Annabella of our plans the previous day, so she had prepared food and other supplies, allowing us to complete our departure preparations relatively smoothly.

The members chosen for the subjugation team entered the carriage to change, and after a while, they came down wearing their respective equipment.
I was having fun playing with Manon’s tail while Manon and Lana dressed me in Equipment, but I quickly stopped because it seemed like Manon was about to switch.
When we suited up in our Equipment and gathered outside, Milly explained our target this time, the “Swamp Lizard (Berglizard).”
”Okay, the first target this time, the ‘Swamp Lizard (Berglizard),’ is surprisingly quick for a creature that lives in swamps, and it has enough jaw strength to easily snap an arm off if bitten without armor, so be careful not to let your guard down. Also, watch out for its thick tail.”
Once Milly finished her explanation, we entered the forest at the foot of Mount Mylon to begin the hunt.
The vanguard consisted of Aurelia, Annabella, Feria, and Ines, while the rearguard was made up of Milly, me, Talia, and Lina, and we steadily moved deeper in.
The base of Mount Mylon was frequently a path for pyroclastic flows, and scorched trees could be seen here and there.
After walking for about 30 minutes, we spotted a large group of the “Swamp Lizard (Berglizard)” sunbathing by the river, and decided to make the First Strike.
”Lina, do you want to shoot a fireball?”

Lina’s magic transformed ice blocks into bullets, called Ice Bullets, shooting them towards the target as a type of beginner ice magic.
The ice bullet hit a swamp lizard (Berglizard) basking in the sun by the riverbank without veering off target, and maybe because it was its weak point, the creature was instantly frozen solid and ceased all life activities.
”Wow, one shot. As expected of our Magician!”
While I was praising her, Lina was already chanting for a second shot.
It seemed the swamp lizards (Berglizards) recognized they were under attack, as a few of them began crossing the river toward us.
I had instructed the vanguard not to enter the river, as it was a zone where the swamp lizards (Berglizards) could swim freely and gain a significant advantage.
I planned to have Milly draw the attention of the swamp lizards (Berglizards) and let Lina pick them off from a distance, bringing them out of the water for the vanguard to fight.

Annabella requested permission to retreat.

”Alright, Ines, Feria, Aurelia! Let’s take out that swamp lizard (Berglizard) before it gets close to Sir Kent!”
Under Annabella’s command, the vanguard team was engaged in close combat with the swamp lizard (Berglizard).
”The first axe goes to Feria! Kill the lizard!”
Feria, not quite understanding, shouts something and rushes forward.
She swings her axe down at the neck of the swamp lizard (Berglizard) that has come up onto the land.

”Mr. Kenttt, we’ve hunted down all we’ve attracted so far!”
While I was being bound by striped panties, the vanguard team had turned over ten or more swamp lizards (Berglizards) into Materials and bodies.
I couldn’t stay flustered forever, so I cleared my throat once and straightened my dignity.

It seemed that Feria had noticed my gaze.

The second wave consisted of about 15 to 16 swamp lizards (Berglizards) coming ashore.
As expected, with this many coming all at once, the vanguard team was filled with tension.
”Don’t let them surround us! Kent, I’ll leave dealing with anyone trying to flank the rearguard to you!”
Despite running at full speed, Milly didn’t seem to be out of breath at all.

I readied my spear and shield, preparing for the enemy’s intrusion.
As the swamp lizards (Berglizards) attacked the vanguard one by one, the scenes of Annabella, Feria, and Ines getting hit by tail attacks were increasing.
”Ugh, it doesn’t hurt that much, but getting hit by the tail is somehow annoying. I want to chop off such an irritating tail!”
Feria, who chopped off the tail that hit her body with her one-bladed axe, seemed to switch to a strategy of cutting off the tails, the largest weapon on land.
Ines started imitating Feria and began cutting tails as well.

Taking Milly’s advice, I switched from a thrust attack with my spear to a slashing attack, which allowed me to defeat the swamp lizard (Berglizard).
I gave Milly a thumbs up for the advice.
After that, thanks to the vanguard team not backing down at all and going toe-to-toe with 15 or 16 swamp lizards (Berglizards), there were no unruly swamp lizards (Berglizards) trying to invade the rearguard.
As I hunted the last one, the swamp lizard (Berglizard) scattered black particles and returned to its original form as a small lizard and the Materials of the swamp lizard’s skin.
”Well then, shall we take a break for now?”
”Very well, Sir Kent. I will go gather the Materials.”
