In the backyard, Gunilla was already practicing with her big crossbow by folding and unfolding it.
She looked serious, but her eyes behind her glasses were sparkling, and she seemed really happy.
”Wow… you practiced a lot. You’re getting good at handling it and unfolding it quickly!”
Liz nodded, looking impressed.
”Gunilla has been touching it since before bed and right after she woke up. She really love it, huh?”
Romy watched Gunilla, who quickly unfolded the crossbow and got into shooting position over and over, with a smile.
It’s a big crossbow that is hard to handle even for most guys.
I thought it might be a bit too big for Gunilla, who is about 2 meters tall, but she looked fine holding it.
”That training target over there might not be enough.”
Liz was right; the target set up at the edge of the backyard might get blown away by the crossbow’s power.
”Oh… this is something old and nostalgic. It still exists!”
Yamikirimaru or Lilith had suddenly appeared and was smiling next to me.
”That is an old item from the lost civilization. Big youma used to like using it. Looking at it, it has strong magic. If it hits a wall, it will blow up!”
Saying this, she pointed at the corner of the backyard.
Then, the ground there rose up, and in no time, a tall Earth Wall, about my height, was built.
”Yes. That looks just right as a target.”
”Hey… can you use magic too?”
”Just a little. I will need to get more magical power from my master later.”
Lilith smiled at the surprised Liz and looked at me with a charming gaze.
”Lady Lilith! I can’t believe Lady Lilith would try to charm Hiroya…!”
Violet rushed over from the dining hall in a hurry.
Wait, was I being charmed?
”Old items from the lost civilization… wasn’t the Black Bow something new that was developed recently?”
”It’s so-called ‘lost technology.’ In my time, it was a main weapon that was very popular. But it’s interesting, isn’t it? People eventually recover technology like this.”
Lilith looked at Gunilla, who had the Arbalest, as if she were seeing something amazing.

”Gunilla, you’re strong so I think you’ll be fine, but be careful with the Arbalest, the recoil is pretty strong.”
”I know…”
Gunilla’s posture is unstable. She is not in the so-called ‘standing’ position, but is kneeling, holding her Arbalest. Liz gives her some advice while slightly adjusting her posture.

Gunilla stands up and scratches her head in embarrassment.

Then, she took the stance that Liz had just taught her, holding the large crossbow.
The target was the earth wall that Lilith made.
”Before you shoot, put a little magic power into it. It’s like a command to the crossbow, so just a little magic is enough, okay?”
Gunilla nodded and peered into the sight of the large crossbow, lining up the tip with the target.
As I, Liz, Romy, Lilith, and Violet held our breath, Gunilla’s finger pulled the trigger.
──Whoosh!
Making a ‘heavy sound’ different from the Black Bow, an arrow was shot from the red-black body of the crossbow.
Even though Gunilla’s body shook slightly from the kickback, she was able to hold her shooting stance well.
The arrow, after being shot, quickly glowed red like it was heated and plunged deep into the earth wall.
Then, when the arrow was completely buried… a red flash sparkled, and the earth wall exploded.
”Wow!”
”That’s amazing…”
Romy yelled, and Liz looked amazed.
”Hmm. Even though it’s a relic of an old civilization, it seems to still hold the power of ‘fire bomb’. “
”It has quite a destructive power, doesn’t it?”
Lilith smiled with satisfaction, and Violet nodded, looking impressed.
”The firing speed is slow, but this attack power feels like a one-hit kill.”
I was surprised too.
This will be a reliable support weapon against large monsters.
”It’s just…”
