”Okay! We are heading to help Abyss Vena. The people joining are me, Milly, Annabella, Feria, Ines, Lina, Lana, Talia, Manon, Beatrice, Aurelia, Giuliana, Nannie, and those who healed Red Valkyrie and Godard’s archers.”
I told the messenger from Abyss Vena my decision again.
”We are going to defend Abyss Vena. We will leave as soon as we are ready. Also, please tell my father-in-law that we will get supplies from there. I believe we will arrive about the same time the messenger reports.”
The messenger man was trying not to laugh after hearing my reply.
I thought it was inappropriate, but considering the time I waited during my first visit to Arbalest’s castle, we should be fine.
Well, since it’s a war, I don’t think it will take that long. With a hundred people marching about 4 kilometers, we can reach there in 15 minutes if we use wagons.
”I will go back and report to my lord right away so I don’t get caught by Sir Kent.”
The messenger man said that and bowed before running out of the room.
”Alright, Milly, Annabella, Giuliana, gather the people I just mentioned at the west gate quickly. We only need to prepare the equipment. We will get food from my father-in-law. As soon as everyone is gathered, we will ride the wagon and head to Abyss Vena.”

The 3 of them rush out of the living room.
Lina, who was with me, also left the living room to get ready.
”Helga, Akebus, hey”
I called the two people who were still in the living room.
””What is it? Sir Kent””
”You will be in charge of the logistics for the Resident Defense Force. Please follow Akebus’s instructions and carry out the necessary tasks, Helga.”
”Got it”

I left the house and headed to the west gate, leaving Akebus and Helga in charge of the base.

When I arrived at the west gate, I saw our hunting cart and cargo cart lined up in 8 rows.
Milly and the others had already finished roll call and loading the equipment, and they were getting on the carts.
”Sorry, I’m late.”
”Kent. The roll call is finished. We have a total of 83 people. More people are hurt than I thought.”
”83 people…”
It seems like we are missing a hundred people, which is not many… I guess everyone is tired from battling. I should ask to have them support us from the back as much as possible.
”Okay! Let’s go!”
As I got on the cart, it started to move.
If we hurry, we should arrive in about 15 minutes.
When I got on the cart, Talia and Nannie came beside me and whispered.
’Sir Kent, Sir Arbalest is tired, so let us be the guards for Sir Arbalest’s HQ. We have already achieved great success.’
’If we achieve too much success, the other Hunting Group leaders at HQ will be very jealous. We should give it up to the other Hunting Groups.’
I listened to their suggestions and did as I had originally planned.
In Abyss Vena, we decided to negotiate with them to either place them in the rear or to have them deployed on the eastern side where the density is low after we have defeated the monsters.
However, I am worried about the two maid warriors in my house, who are doing warm-up exercises right in front of me, shaking their breasts in their maid suits.
It’s good that they’re motivated, but doing warm-up exercises in a carriage are outrageous…especially the way their chest moves is outrageous.
And while I was admiring their swaying breasts in the swaying carriage, we arrived at the front of the square.

The square already had many tents set up as a defense headquarters, and there were places for first aid and supply distribution.
Arbalest felt that the castle was too far from the town’s square, so they set up the defense headquarters in the middle of the square.
I gave everyone a short break and headed with Milly to the large tent in the center that was the defense headquarters.
Inside the defense headquarters, there were about 20 staff members from Arbalest busy running around with papers.
Also, there were Matthew and Thelma from ‘Silver Wolf,’ Mr. Soumei and his friend from ‘Hand of Glory,’ and about ten people I didn’t recognize.
When I quietly asked Milly, she told me they were the leader and vice-leader of the Hunting Group from Abyss Vena.
While I was under the watchful eyes of the Hunting Group leaders, I greeted Arbalest, who had a serious face at the round table in the center.
However, the people around were whispering about me.
”On the orders of Kent Blackdagger, we have come to help with a total of 83 people. Did the messenger arrive in time?”
”Just barely. I just received the report. To ask me for food… Kent can be surprisingly stingy.”
”Not as much as you… Our family also has many expenses.”
”Well, I have arranged for that.”
”Thank you. So you want us to help you, but should we just drive away the monsters swarming Abyss Vena? We may be few in number, but we can wipe out a few thousand in half a day. It seems that our Crimson Bride, Red Valkyrie, and the Godard clan will be the ones to reap the rewards.”
I was telling a big braggart. Matthew from ‘Silver Wolf’ seemed to be holding back his laughter.
However, the other people, such as the Hunting Group Leaders and Vice Hunting Group Leaders, looked at me with bitter looks on their faces.
”Kent… that’s too much. The people here are all strong monster hunters. There are also some who are older than us, so you need to be careful with your words.”
Milly didn’t talk about this before, but she thought something felt off in the room, and she spoke up about my big lies.
Arbalest was watching and had a vein popping on his forehead.
Oh no, did I brag too much…
”Kent! That was great! I will give you a special view of the battlefield from Abyss Vena! Now, show off your skills! Prove that we are the best Hunting Group in Abyss Vena!”
Huh?
Oh no, I messed up.
I can’t have a big fight like that right now.
Then, a middle-aged man wearing wolf armor stepped forward from the round table.
He looked like a battle-hardened monster hunter, with one eye closed from a scar.
I whispered to Milly, “Who is that?”
”That’s Giuliana. He is Aladdin, the leader of the middle-level Hunting Group ‘Wild Wind’.”
Aladdin stepped in front of Arbalest and began to speak wildly.
”Our ‘Wild Wind’ will stand in that battlefield! Lord Arbalest, I won’t let that kid do whatever he wants anymore! If this continues, it will harm my pride! Anyone who agrees with me, step up!”
Aladdin asked the other Hunting Group leaders for support.
But then, ‘Silver Wolf’, ‘Hand of Glory’, and the ‘Golden Apostles’, 3 of the most powerful Hunting Groups in Abyss Vena, did not agree.
”Hmm, so all 3 of the big hunting groups from Abyss Vena are declining. Well, that’s fine. Lord Arbalest, we’ll take that battlefield, is that okay?”
”If Kent declines, we’ll leave it to you guys.”
Arbalest is talking to me.
Of course, I never planned to join from the start, so I smile thinking I can push this onto Aladdin since he stepped up.
This time, no one in my Hunting Group has died, but if we keep being sent into hard battles, there will definitely be deaths.
To avoid that situation, it is better if strangers die instead.
I don’t want to abandon anyone, but I think people usually care more about their friends and family than others.
”Well then, Aladdin and friends, I will watch your fight from the castle wall.”
”Hmph, that young guy… acting so proud just because he defeated a beast monster by chance… I’m sure his achievements at the camp were stretched too…”
”Anyway, since Kent has stepped down, let Aladdin and the Hunting Group team hunt the 5 thousand monsters at the main gate. I’m counting on you.”
”Leave it to us. Those kinds of monsters will be taken down quickly!”
When Arbalest gave the orders, I watched as Aladdin and the other Hunting Group leaders left the tent.
Suddenly, the inside of the tent felt empty.
As I stood there feeling the sudden space, a young man in golden armor came up to me.
”Oh wow, you must be Kent! You’re young. Are you in your teens? It seems like thanks to you, the scaredy-cats are getting motivated. Mr. Arbalest is really something. With how it looks, a couple of small Hunting Groups might get crushed this time.”
The young man spoke to me in a friendly way.
His face was smiling, but he moved smoothly without wasting any effort.
”Oh, who are you?”
”Oh, sorry. I haven’t introduced myself. I’m Hendric, the leader of the Hunting Group of the ‘Golden Apostles’. Nice to meet you. Mr. Arbalest, we should just sit on the ramparts.”
The flashy man who called himself Hendric barely greeted me before leaving the tent with his attendants.
”You’re making a fool of me. I’m the lord after all… but it’s alright. Thanks to Kent coming here, the cowards have taken action. Now I can move the guards to the west.”
”Father, was this request for help to get the lazy leaders of the Hunting Group to act?”
”Yes. I also heard that Kent and the others think continuing to fight is dangerous. We will wait at the Defense Headquarters with ‘Hand of Glory.’ ‘Silver Wolf’ will support Aladdin and his team. I owe you a lot, so please help.”
It seems we were used as a spark to get the lazy leaders of the Hunting Group to take action, not for fighting.
Well, I’m glad they said we don’t have to fight, so I can relax and rest.
Arbalest said they would return to the castle for a break, so I, as Milly’s husband and his son-in-law, was put in charge.
Then, I grabbed one of the staff and asked them to tell Annabella to rest at the mansion.
Feeling relieved about not having to fight, I greeted Mr. Soumei, the leader of ‘Hand of Glory,’ who was also at the headquarters.
”Mr. Soumei, I will take a break next door.”
Soumei was playing with his long hair.
”…Ah, Kent, that’s fine. Since the fighting started, I’ve been really bored.”
Suddenly, I noticed a young man with brown skin and red hair glaring at me from behind.
I had never seen his face before.
Then, the young man who was glaring at me approached Milly.
”Miriallia Blackdagger! How many times do you intend to trample on me, the True Demon who is the ancestor of the True Demon Kingdom? Not only have you taken away my nickname Lammy from me since childhood, but you have also taken away my title as the strongest in Abyss Vena from the people, and on top of that, you have obtained a mate before me. It is unforgivable! And what of you, a Majin man? Are you mocking me?”
The dark-skinned, red-haired young man (glasses effect) was vigorously protesting towards Milly, shaking his long hair.
However, the voice was female.
”Oh, yes, yes. It was Carlamia… no, Lammy… no, it was Carly. It’s been a while… you’re doing well. I thought it was bad because we just made eye contact.”
The brown-skinned, red-haired young man continues to heat up.
”No, today I must say this! Since I was allowed to be a special monster hunter with you at 12 years old, I have defeated way more monsters than you. But why am I not the strongest monster hunter in Abyss Vena?”
”Well, it’s not like I call myself that… Look, Carly has a cool nickname too, like ‘Storm of Ice and Snow.’ I heard from Lina that it’s pretty famous.”
Milly started to praise Carly.
The young man called Carly puffed up his nose.
”But then, I just got my [Mage] title recently, so teach me some tricks next time!”
”Ugh! Are you trying to take my magic too! Miriallia Blackdagger! No way the great Orphée Bleu would allow that!”
This girl seems really annoying… Is she just looking for attention?
Milly seems troubled too…
To pull Carly away, who was still bothering Milly, I touched her shoulder, and it felt like she was looking at my hand like it was dirty.
Smack!
My hand was pushed away.
Then Carlamia said this.
”How dare you, a lowly creature pretending to be a demon without the blessing of the great Orphée Bleu, touch me, a direct descendant! I am a chosen True Demon! You are not worthy to touch me!”
Carlamia was trying hard to wipe away the part of her body I touched.
That comment seemed to make Milly angry, and she confronted Calamity.
”Carly! I’ve known you for a long time, but I can’t forgive what you just said! Apologize to Kent!”
”Why should I apologize? I was just teaching a lowlife that he was lowlife!”
The knife that Milly released was aimed at her, but she narrowly avoided it.
