A few days had passed since I was recognized as a General and given a noble title, and on one morning, the celebration guests had finally settled down.
”Well, starting today, we will begin preparing for the move. Since Kent has become a Lord Noble with a territory, we will sell the mansion and assets given by my father-in-law to fund the development of the new land.”
After breakfast, Milly called an emergency meeting of the Blackdagger family, gathering everyone involved.
The participants included all my concubines, Fristoph, and it seems Reinhardt was also called.
Everyone looked surprised.
It seemed they never expected Milly to let go of this mansion.
Whispers spread across the dining table.
I also never thought I would sell this mansion.
I thought I could just commute from here every day.
It’s only about a 15-minute ride by carriage.
”Milly, are you really going to sell it?”
”Yes, I’m already calling for it. Once we get there, we will take over the commander’s residence, and if there aren’t enough rooms, we can use the officer’s quarters from the Blackdagger family. In the meantime, we can build a new Lord’s mansion. It will be more luxurious than my father-in-law’s castle.”
”Oh! Then Elder Sister! Please make my study! It’s hard to store my books in my current room.”
”Sure. Is there anything else you want me to make? My mother will be in charge of the design, so we can push for some things.”
”Milly… Mom will do her best! Leave it to me! I will build the biggest mansion in the south… no, in the whole kingdom!”
Lila was cutely pumping her fist in the air.
I wonder if she has become young not just in body but also in spirit.
Still, aiming for the biggest mansion in the kingdom is a bit much.
I should say something to keep it in check.
”Ah, my dear mother-in-law. Due to budget constraints, please keep it as simple as possible. If you could make it expandable, it would help when we want to add on later.”
”As expected of Mr. Kent. Understood. I will design the mansion with expansion in mind. I’m getting fired up! Helga, Nannie, we will work overnight starting today!”
”Huh! Overnight? …I have my husband’s education to consider…”
”Ms. Lila is burning up too much… I wonder if her body can handle it~”
Nannie and Helga were feeling down.
The defense battle is over, and now Lila is the head of the Hunting Group and territory affairs.
”Well then, Lady Miriallia. As the one managing the Blackdagger family, I would like you to set up a large kitchen in the new castle. Also, please set up a big storage room.”
”Sure. If Ms. Annabella needs it, we will definitely make it. Also, since many guests will come, we should build a large dining room too. Cleaning might be tough, though.”
Annabella has been appointed to manage the Blackdagger family.
Ines, Feria, Ulrika, and Carly, who looked the most dissatisfied, chimed in.
”Miriallia Blackdagger, is that a jab at me?”
In that moment, Annabella moved faster than the speed of light.
Her hand grabbed Carly’s mouth.
”Carly, I told you not to speak casually during work, even if you are Lady Miriallia’s childhood friend. What did this mouth just say? Are True Demons a race that can’t follow rules?”
Caught by Annabella, Carly was flustered.
”Ugh, I’m sorry. I forgot it was work time. Head Maid Annabella.”
Carly seems to have a complex about Annabella.
I’ve never seen her go against Annabella’s orders.
It might be because Annabella developed her body a lot when she once called her for maid duties, but for me, it was a relief that the gun with a potential to go off now had a safety lever.
”Well, Carly means no harm, so please forgive her, Annabella.”
”Hmph, I won’t thank you.”
Carly, glared at by Annabella, hid behind Ines.
”By the way, will the concubines still get private rooms like before?”
”I plan to. I think it will be bigger than before. After all, you’re Baron’s concubine. I will prepare a proper treatment for you. Oh, but you will still have to do the Maid and Hunting Group work, and Kent’s duties too.”
”That’s fine as it is. Oh, so the room will get bigger? I guess I should save my salary to buy some furniture.”
”You can use each room freely. If you ask my mother, she will manage the interior.”
”Yay!”
Feria and the other concubines were happy to hear that they could also choose their own rooms and interiors.
”Kent, I want a workshop just for me. Can you make one? I want to mass-produce guns and develop new weapons.”
”A workshop… If it’s small, I can build it in the castle.”
”That’s fine. A gun workshop doesn’t take up much space. But, since there is a risk of accidental discharge, I would appreciate it if you could build it in a separate building.”
”How about it, Mother-in-law? Can we have the workshop in a separate building?”
”Hmm, that’s okay. I will try to manage it. It’s Mr. Kent’s request after all.”
Lila had started to draw something like a blueprint.
I wonder if it’s the design for the new castle.
”Ms. Lila, please! By the way, are you serious about making our party independent and turning it into a new Hunting Group?”
”I was thinking of making it a Hunting Group specialized in Gunsmiths and Gunslingers… I want it to be a small elite group under my direct command.”
”And for the leader of the Hunting Group? If possible, I would like to focus on manufacturing and developing firearms.”
”I’m considering Kerstin. She has talent with guns and was calm even in her first battle. Do you think Aida’s party will follow her?”
”Huh? Me?”
