Chapter 410 First Day of the Big Market

The next morning, after finishing my training, I took a bath.
Before breakfast, Liz explained about the ‘Grand Market’.
”I mentioned it yesterday, but for the next 3 days, merchants from all over will gather here in Raetia for the ‘Grand Market’. We, the ‘Famière’, will split into 4 teams to handle the market, the Zett Merchant Guild headquarters, and the security of this Clan house.”
She spread out the list of team members on the table before the meal was served.
- Team One: Liz, Hiroya, Dorothy, Violet
- Team Two: Martina, Gieze, Karina
- Team Three: Simona, Gunilla, Romy
- Team Four: Asuka, Gorge, Noriss
”Team One and Team Two will patrol the ‘Grand Market’. Team Three will be at the Zett Merchant Guild headquarters. Team Four will handle the security of the Clan house. However, the patrols for the ‘Grand Market’ and the security at the Zett Merchant Guild will only be until noon. After that, we’ll switch with ‘Rose Hip’ and ‘Black Sheep’. “
”So, in the afternoon, we just need to switch the security at the Clan house, right?”
”That’s right. We can’t leave the security here to anyone else.”
Liz answered my question with a thumbs up.
”Aluda, Eluda, and Meluda will be busy at the workshop, so Mr. Toldo and you all need to do your best with your work. Kazumi and Rena, you have business talks at the Clan house, right?”
”That’s right. We need to present ‘adult magic tools’ to various merchants.”
”Rena also has to be there as a creator.”
Kazumi and Rena responded to Liz’s question.
”This clan house will be the main place for business negotiations, so I think Ms. Hanna and the wolf maids will be busy… but I appreciate your help.”
Ms. Sasha stood up and bowed her head.
”So, Lotta and Ms. Ariane, can I count on you to take care of the kids?”
”Okay!”
”Yes, leave it to us.”
Lotta and Ms. Ariane clenched their fists slightly towards Liz.
”Please leave the Zett Merchant Guild headquarters to Mr. Waleerry and me.”
Ms. Carla spoke cheerfully.
”I’ll check out the big market with my friends in the morning, but I’ll help Ms. Ariane in the afternoon, okay?”
Sandra offered to help while smiling at Liselle, who she was holding on her lap.
Yeah.
I welcome the enthusiasm.
”Alright! Then let’s finish breakfast before the groups head out!”
At Liz’s voice, Ms. Hanna and the wolf maids stood up to prepare the meal.

”But… it feels unfair that Big Sister Liz is in the same group as Big Brother Hiroya.”
Martina mumbled while munching on her breakfast bread.
”It’s work, you know? I’m not trying to flirt or anything.”
Liz made that excuse, but Martina shot her a skeptical look.
”It’s not like it’s just the two of them. I’ll use my free time in the afternoon to check out the big market with you, Martina.”
”Really? You’ll go around with me?”
Martina’s face lit up with a smile at my support.
”I’m in too! Let’s check out the market together, Hiroya!”
”Even though I’m in the same group, I really want to go around with Mr. Hiroya, not just for work.”
Simona and Dorothy also jumped in, trying to set up a ‘date’ with me.
”I wonder if I’ll have time…”
”Rena seems like she’ll be busy too…”
”Aluda probably won’t have any free time either.”
”Eluda wants to find some time somehow.”
”Meluda too…──Grandpa, I want some time somewhere.”
Kazumi, Rena, Aluda, Eluda and Meluda, who were likely to be busy with business, looked visibly depressed.
”Well, it’s a 3-day ‘Grand Market.’ You’ll have some free time here and there, so just enjoy it.”
After finishing breakfast, Toldo took out his smoking tools from his pouch and stood up.

Hearing Aluda and the others, Toldo muttered in exasperation as he headed to the backyard.

Before heading out for patrol duty at the ‘Grand Market,’ I talked with Kazumi in the second-floor open space. It seemed she had heard about last night and what’s to come from Lilith.
”Well, we know better than anyone that Hiroya’s energy can perk us right up♡”

Kazumi laughed softly, then suddenly her expression turned serious.
”The problem is──Violet.”
”Ah…”
’Protect Lilith.’ That’s the mission that keeps us in this clan.
”But shouldn’t we leave that to Lilith? Violet is someone she should persuade.”
”…I’m probably going to get on Violet’s bad side again…”
Just thinking about it made me feel gloomy.
”‘Again’? ──Violet doesn’t dislike you as much as you think, Hiroya.”
”You think so…?”
Recalling her sharp words toward me, I tilted my head in doubt.

”Not just a little. By the way, how was training this morning?”

It’s true, Violet was proactive this morning.
After sparring with Gieze, she asked for my guidance, then sparred with Gieze again before receiving instruction from Asuka.
”She seemed full of motivation.”

I recalled Violet’s focused expression during training.
With those movements, if she masters her swordsmanship…
”I wonder if she’ll stay with us as a comrade…”
No doubt, she’d be a tough enemy to face.
Especially since the main body, the ‘Purple Flame Demon Princess,’ seems to be quite skilled in magic.

After saying that, I took Kazumi’s hand and stood up from the sofa.

After receiving Kazumi’s ‘charm’ on my cheek, we both headed downstairs.

As I led Haya to the front entrance, Liz and Dorothy were already waiting on their horses.
Violet was sitting in front of Liz.
”Sorry! Did I keep you waiting?”
”Nah, we still have time.”
”Ms. Martina, Ms. Gieze, and Ms. Karina went ahead.”
”Simona, Gunilla, and Romy also rode in the carriage to the merchant guild’s main branch. Carla’s with them too.”
Liz, Dorothy, and Violet filled me in.
”Alright, let’s go then.”
”Okay, first, we’ll head to the guild. We’ll coordinate the patrols with the stationed troops and other adventure parties there.”
With Liz leading the way, we set off toward the guild.
Waving back to Ms. Hanna, the wolf maids, Ms. Ariane, Sandra, and the clan kids at the entrance, we spurred our horses forward.
