Lina grabs my arm.
”Oww!”
”You really have no shame. Well, I’ll let it slide since it’s you, Kent.”
”Ouch, by the way. Does that [Simple-mindedness] skill just nullify all charm-based skills?”
”That’s right. If it can even shut down [Handsome Guy], then most charm skills are useless. But I’ve heard it can’t block things like [Service] or [Floor Technique], which are more about inducing arousal.”
So charm skills are shut down… Come to think of it, would [Charisma], which enslaves defeated opponents, still work?
”Lina, do you think [Charisma] would work on [Simple-mindedness]?”
Lina makes a thoughtful gesture at my question.

Lina sighs at my words.

”I’ve already got permission from Aida. Now it’s just about convincing her.”
”But she said no, didn’t she?”
”Ugh…”
I was left speechless by Kerstin’s retort.
”Why are you so fixated on Noemi? Sure, she’s beautiful, but there are other pretty girls too.”
”If you ask why I’m fixated, it’s because Noemi doesn’t fall for ‘Handsome Guy.’”
”Sigh… Honestly, our master is such a child for his age…”
After Lina, even Kerstin was exasperated with me.
But I won’t give up.
”Kerstin, did you set up what I asked for?”

I had seriously challenged Noemi to a mock battle.
I told her that if she won, she’d get a special bonus.
If I defeat her in this serious mock battle, I should be able to win her over with [Charisma].

And so, I came to the forest on the outskirts for this serious match with Noemi.
Members of ‘Black Bullet’ had also gathered there.
Standing in front of me was Noemi, clad in black leather armor.
Dragunov were holstered on both sides of her hips.
”Sir Kent, I hear you’ll be my opponent in today’s mock battle! And if I win, I’ll get a bonus, right? I won’t hold back. I’ll show you the skills of a Beast Monster Hunter!”
Noemi was full of enthusiasm.
It seemed like a good sign since she wanted a serious match.
”I’ll show you my gun skills,”
I replied confidently.
”Well, let’s not waste time. The rules are simple: the one who gets hit 3 times in vital areas with the simulated ammo loses. The vital areas are the head, chest, and abdomen. I’ll be the judge, so don’t complain.”
”Got it. Those rules are fine.”
”I have no objections either.”
”Then, let’s start by standing about 20 meters apart.”
”Ou”
I stood a short distance away, aiming my gun.
Noemi also drew her Dragunov from the holsters at her sides and took her stance.
It seemed she had no intention of engaging in a shooting battle.
Kerstin raised her hand and gave the signal to start.
”Simulation battle, begin!”
As it started, I activated my combat skills, [Concentration] and [Hawk’s Eye].
With this, I planned to land 3 shots on her vital points before Noemi could close the distance.
Confirming the activation of my combat skills, I turned my gaze to track Noemi’s movements.
However, I couldn’t catch sight of her.
Even with my combat skills active, Noemi was moving faster than usual, making it hard to aim.
”Damn, she’s fast!”
Bang, bang, bang.
I fired single shots at Noemi, but the dummy rounds only uselessly dirtied the ground.
The distance between Noemi and me was already less than 5 meters.
Crap, Noemi’s using a combat skill to speed up too!
If she gets any closer, I’m in trouble…
While I was thinking of a countermeasure, Noemi closed in to within 2 meters.
The perfect range for a Gunslinger’s finishing move.
Noemi aimed for my head and abdomen.
Thinking I was done for, I stepped forward to force an ultra-close-range fight.
”Tch, like I’d let you!”
I swung the stock of my Elitzina upward, knocking her aim off course.
Somehow, I managed to throw her off.
”Impressive, Sir Kent. You’re not going down easy, are you?”
Noemi quickly crouched down and swept her leg at me.
I’d forgotten she had [Martial Artist] as her sub-job.
And it seemed she’d developed her own combat style, blending [Gunslinger] and [Martial Artist] techniques.
”A leg sweep? Seriously…”
I lost my balance and fell.
I fired a Wind Cutter at Noemi without chanting, aiming for a lucky hit.
It was just a stalling tactic.
As expected, Noemi dodged it easily, but I managed to buy myself some precious time to recover.
”So Sir Kent can use magic too. I almost got taken out there.”
Noemi kept her distance, wary of my magic.
The two of us were locked in a tense standoff.
”Noemi’s fighting style is pretty unusual, huh?”
”Is it? I just incorporated the shooting techniques from the Dragunov Ms. Aida taught me into my original martial arts!”
Noemi moved before she even finished speaking.
I fired a warning shot, though I didn’t expect it to hit.
Bang, bang.
Noemi moved so fast her body seemed to blur. There was no way it would land.
”Tch, stop darting around!”
Noemi closed the distance between us rapidly.
She was too fast for me to stop her approach.
Once she was right up against me, Noemi fired a point-blank shot at my stomach.
A sharp shockwave hit my abdomen.
Thud!
”Ugh!”
The shockwave knocked the wind out of me.
My stomach was now smeared with pink paint.
Noemi didn’t stop there──she aimed her gun at my head.
”Crap!”
I grabbed the gun aimed at my head with my hand.
Noemi smirked and fired 2 more shots into my stomach with her other gun.
Thud!
”Gah!”
Another shockwave hit me, and I felt like my stomach was about to burst.
At that moment, I knew I’d lost.
Because I’d bent forward, exposing my vulnerable state to Noemi.
”Sir Kent, I’ll take my reward now!”
Noemi flashed a fierce grin, pressed her gun to my head, and fired.
In that instant, my vision turned pink, and I lost consciousness.
When I came to, my head was resting on Kerstin’s lap.
”That was a crushing defeat. I told you not to get into close combat with Noemi, didn’t I?”
”Ouch… Where’s Noemi?”
Rubbing my aching head, I asked Kerstin where Noemi was.
”She’s over there, training… Probably because she’s just not compatible with you, Sir Kent. Neither in combat nor in… other ways.”
”Ugh… Why…?”
The gap in our combat skills was so vast that I couldn’t even activate my [Charisma] Skill.
It was a crushing defeat.
In close combat, I was shot twice in the abdomen and once in the head, and the wounds were throbbing with pain.
Handsome Guy didn’t work, Charisma couldn’t defeat her, and I was stuck thinking about how to get Noemi to become my concubine.
At that moment, I remembered something Lina had said. ‘You can’t prevent the aphrodisiac effects of [Service] and [Floor Technique] that stimulate sexual excitement.’
The word aphrodisiac reminds me of a skill that was recently unlocked called [Alluring Scent].
I think it was a skill that turned body odor into an aphrodisiac.
The only way left was to acquire this skill and attack from the body.
While thinking about this, I was watching Noemi’s training.
