Volume 4 Chapter 10 Discovery Of Pregnancy
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”…Why? Why hasn’t my period come…?”
It’s been 3 months since I took the contraceptive pill, but my period hasn’t come.
According to Milly, taking the pill would prevent pregnancy for the next ten years, so why hasn’t my period arrived?
I was stunned by my current situation.
Maybe my period is just late, but I’ve never experienced a delay of 3 months before.
The word “pregnancy” floated into my mind.
I couldn’t help but imagine myself carrying Kent’s child, my belly swelling.
This is ridiculous… Me, carrying the child of that lowly man… It’s impossible.
To be pregnant with the child of a lower-ranked [Blue] card, and a younger man from the Majin Clan at that…
I was overwhelmed with regret in the officer’s quarters I’d been assigned.
Over the past 3 months, reassured by the contraceptive pill, I had enjoyed my intimate moments with Kent.
Lately, my body had become so sensitive that just his touch would make me wet.
And though I resisted, I ended up accepting and even enjoying his seed.
This is the result of that.
I’m disgusted by my own wretchedness.
Am I going to follow the same path as my mother…?
Thinking about it alone was only dragging me deeper into despair, so the only thing I could think of was to consult my accomplice, Head Maid Annabella.

When I visited Annabella’s room at night, she immediately confronted me.
”Carly… Are you pregnant? It’s been 3 months since your last period, hasn’t it?”
”That’s right, Head Maid Annabella… I might be carrying Kent…Sir Kent’s child… What should I do? What am I supposed to do?”
I couldn’t help but ask Annabella for advice.
”You’ll have to give birth… It might be humiliating for you, Carly, but if an abortion were discovered, even the gentle Sir Kent might kill you. He has a kind heart, but he shows no mercy to those who betray him or become his enemies.”
”Am I going to give birth to Kent’s child?”
”Yes, I wish I could take your place. My period has stopped too, but I’m not sure if I’m pregnant…”
Annabella looked at me with envy.
But right now, my mind was completely filled with the thought of being pregnant.
”Should I tell Milly… about my pregnancy?”
”Yes, you have to. It’s Sir Kent’s child, after all. You can’t avoid reporting it to Lady Miriallia, his first wife. This child might even become the heir to the Blackdagger family.”
Hearing Annabella’s words, I couldn’t help but look down at my stomach.
Come to think of it, Kent is a Baron of the kingdom… With none of his other concubines pregnant yet, this child might indeed inherit the Blackdagger family.
I weighed the disgust of carrying a child of the Majin Clan against the power that came with bearing a Noble’s heir.
The scales in my mind swayed heavily back and forth.
”The heir to the Blackdagger family…”
”Yes, so we must report this to Lady Miriallia immediately. She’s in her room at the mansion today, not on duty.”
”Now? It’s already night.”
”These matters should be addressed as soon as possible.”
Annabella took my hand, and we headed toward the mansion where Milly was.
* * *
”What business do you have at this late hour?”
Milly was about to go to bed, wearing a thin negligee.
”It seems Carly is pregnant. We haven’t had Lady Lana examine her in detail yet, but her period has stopped for about 3 months, so it’s likely.”
Milly turned to me and grinned wickedly.
Seeing that smile sent a chill down my spine.
”Kukuku… Ahaha! Carly, congratulations! You’re pregnant with the child of a man from the Majin Clan, the one you hate the most! You accepted a man from the same clan as your most despised father!”
Milly’s words tipped the scales heavily toward disgust.
”N-no! This must be a mistake! I took the birth control pills… Ah!”
”Carly! That’s…”
I accidentally revealed a secret.
Annabella, who was next to me, looked surprised.
But Milly wasn’t surprised.
”Birth control pills… hehehe… that thing you asked about when we moved. Carly, did you think I’d tell you the truth?”
