Chapter 77-2 [Irrelevant with Main Story] A World with a Gender Ratio of 1 to 99 in Parallel Worlds… That is the Pretext
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Oh no, I think my voice cracked a bit from nervousness….
I stare at the screen, waiting for a reply.
….
…….
……….
H-hey!
Muiro-san, you alive~?
[Muiro: …Huh!? W-wait, are you seriously a guy!?]
Huh?
That’s what you’re focused on?
I silently nod toward my phone’s camera.
”U-um, if it’s okay with you… could you teach me how to make a thick omelet?”
Please!
I clasp my hands together and bow toward the smartphone camera.
[Muiro: W-wait a second. I’m not great at cooking either, so I’ll call someone who might know how to make it.]
Wooooooow!
Yes, yes, yes!
I strike a victory pose at the camera.
[Muiro: I brought someone who seems knowledgeable.]
[Baidol: I got a call from Muiro, the unemployed one. I’m Baidol, short for “Part-Time Idol (Arubaito Idol).” Ask me anything!! I’ve worked so many part-time jobs that I almost got kicked out of college!!]
[Muiro: Hey! I’m not unemployed, I’m just protecting my home!!]
[Baidol: Muiro, my dear. People call that a “home security guard”… or a NEET.]
I nod repeatedly at Baidol’s words.
Well, if we’re being honest, I’m the same.
”It’s okay, Muiro-san. I’m a NEET too…. You know, guys just can’t work, right…”
Haha…
A dry laugh escapes me.
[Baidol: Wooooow! Oh, oh, oh, my… dude! Wait, seriously!? A guy!?]
[Muiro: I told you! That voice is definitely a boy’s.]
[Baidol: Hold on! Just to be safe, I’ll call someone I know. There’s an expert who’s good at this kind of thing!!]
Guess there really aren’t many guys streaming.
I’ve heard that a lot of guys are banned from social media and entertainment by their families, though.
[Tinkasuki: Baidol called me over. Now, don’t be shy──let me hear your voice.]
Ah, the group’s grown to 3 people!
Yes!!
I face the camera and say, “Thank you, Tinkasuki-san, and Baidol-san too, for coming,” then bow my head politely.
[Tinkasuki: No doubt about it. I felt the vibration of the foreskin on my eardrum when you spoke. Plus, that noise only a pro like me can pick up confirms it’s smegma. In other words, it’s highly likely he’s unused──a virgin! / This comment was deleted for using prohibited words.]
[Baidol: Foreskin!? Confirmed uncircumcised, that’s hilarious!! / This comment was deleted for using prohibited words.]
[Muiro: Idiots! What are you two doing!? Uh… sorry, Kurona-kun.]
Tinkasuki and Baidol’s comments were deleted by the mods, so I couldn’t see them.
What on earth did they say?
I hope they weren’t saying anything weird…
”Uh, well, I’ll start getting ready, so just wait a moment, okay?”
I set up my smartphone and projected the stream onto my tablet.
Yeah, this should do it.
I tested it before the stream, and with this angle, I shouldn’t be visible.
[Tinkasuki: What… did you say?]
[Baidol: Wait, is this live-action…?]
[Muiro: A-Are you sure? You’re not gonna show up, right?]
I start by cracking an egg into a bowl.
”Ah, I messed up!”
The broken shell falls into the bowl along with the egg.
Wait a second.
Is cracking an egg really this hard!?
[Baidol: You can do it! It might be tough at first, but you’ll get the hang of it! And if the shell’s too hard to pick up with chopsticks, just use your fingers.]
[Muiro: It’s okay, I can’t even crack an egg either!]
[Tinkasuki: Totally relatable. I just end up cooking the shell and all.]
I scoop out the broken shell.
Phew… is that all of it?
Next, I crack a second egg.
This time, the yolk got squished, but at least no shell fell into the bowl.
I see, so this is what they call growth!
”Uh, the real challenge starts here. Can you guys take a look?”
I place salt, sugar, and soy sauce where the phone camera can see them.
[Baidol: Do you prefer it sweet or savory? If it’s sweet, you don’t need salt. And use light soy sauce, not the dark kind.]
[Tinkasuki: Seriously… no wonder my tamagoyaki always burns…]
[Muiro: Do your best~!]
Light soy sauce?
I was wondering why there’s so much soy sauce, but I guess different dishes use different types.
What a hassle…
I’m glad I listened to the stream again.
I decided to make sweet tamagoyaki, so I put away the salt and dark soy sauce together.
[Baidol: That’s right, that’s good enough!!]
[Tinkasuki: Huh? Is this little bit really enough? Are you sure you don’t need to pour in more?]
[Muiro: Tinkasuki-san, could you please stay quiet for a bit?]
Following Baidol’s instructions, I somehow managed to prepare the batter for the tamagoyaki.
Now all that’s left is to cook it.
Easy, right? That’s what I thought, but I failed.
Yeah, it was a huge failure.
[Baidol: That’s how it is at first. Don’t get discouraged.]
[Tinkasuki: Huh? Did the tamagoyaki turn into scrambled eggs?]
[Muiro: W-well, just finishing it is amazing! I can’t even make scrambled eggs!!]
Yeah.
You’re right!
I should be happy just to have finished it.
And the scrambled eggs actually look pretty tasty.
Though I forgot the salt and pepper…
I switch the camera view and appear on the stream again, wearing Chrona’s skin.
”Muiro-san, Baidol-san, and Tinkasuki-san, thank you. It didn’t turn out exactly as I imagined, but I’m glad it’s done. And thanks for helping me cook the sausages too.”
I bow my head to the camera.
For a moment, I thought things would go badly, but thanks to these 3 kind souls, I made it through.
[Muiro: Oh, can I send a tip!? Wait, the stream just started, so I can’t, right?]
A tip?
What’s a tip!?
I almost flipped out when I looked it up.
Vtubers and streamers have a tipping system where they can earn money by streaming.
Wait a second.
So that means…
Even if I can’t get a job, I can… earn money by streaming!?
This is itttt!!!!!!!!
I strike a victory pose.
If I can earn money, maybe I can stand on my own even after the deadline hits and I’m kicked out of here.
I felt like I could see a way for myself to live freely without being forced to marry.
[Muiro: Um…. Can you tell me if you have any social media or wish lists? I’d like to support you if I can.]
Wish list?
What’s that!?
With the help of Muiro-san’s instructions, I will publish my wish list in the profile section of my newly created social media account for Crona.
”Muiro-san, thank you for everything.
Well then, I’ll eat before it gets cold.
Baidol-san and Tinkasuki-san too!”
I say that and wave to the camera.
[Muiro: Oh, thank you. I’ll send you something later! ]
[Baidol: Well, shall we increase the number of the part-time?]
[Tinkerski: Oh no. I’m late! I’ll come again!]
After I stopped streaming, I ate the scrambled eggs that everyone helped make.
Yeah… I didn’t add any salt or pepper, it was kind of sweet, and the shells were still on, so I wouldn’t call it delicious, but to me it was a really tasty scrambled egg.
The following contains spoilers about the character names.
If you change the word shiro to haku instead of shiro, the anagram becomes Shirogane Aqua.
無色 is not “Mushoku” but “muiro” → 616 → Beginning 616 → Sumeragi Kukuri.
Tinkasuki/Chinsuki and Baidol need no explanation, right?
Actually, if I made it “Tam○my by Dollar” it would sound more like the real thing, but since Tam○my is the company name, it might be a little confusing.
By the way, there was also a character called Aranami-san in Society, but they have disappeared.
