 *Melon’s Perspective

We hurried back to the Royal Capital from Tokura Village and immediately went to report to the queen.

As Mr. Sistemador continued his story, the queen’s face turned redder and redder.

”What!? Setting aside the misdeeds of that Stanford person, to think the Empire would seize the gate! Could it be that Emperor Balmstra intended to deceive us from the start… and that he even kidnapped Puru for this purpose!?”

This might be the first time I’ve seen Queen Asuka so furious.

Mr. Sistemador and Baron Tethyrkan, both tall men, shrank back as they spoke.

Feeling sorry for them, Chancellor Rainsheyn interrupted the conversation.

”So, what about the bandits? And what about Lieutenant Reina?”

”Yes. After that, the Royal Capital army and the Border Defense Force from Tokura Village are continuing the search with us, but if the enemy is using that simple gate, it might be hard to track them down. Lieutenant Reina and one other person are being held by the Royal Capital army as important witnesses. However, it seems Lieutenant Reina really didn’t know anything about Zahalu’s involvement,” Mr. Sistemador replied cautiously.

”To say you know nothing is quite bold. After all, that simple gate belongs to their country, right? Why are the bandits able to use it freely? …sigh. But if I act out of anger, it could lead to war… I will write a letter to the emperor, so please arrange for Elder Brother Yōmo to meet with Emperor Balmstra again. However, it wouldn’t be wise for my brother to be captured, so please make sure the meeting is near the border.”

The queen’s words prompted the Chancellor to respond with “Understood” and leave the room.

”Ms. Melon, I deeply regret this outcome… I couldn’t reward your hard efforts. As the queen, I feel the weight of responsibility,” Her Majesty spoke to me.

”No, please… It’s not your fault at all, Your Majesty. But… what should we do moving forward? I can produce as many batteries as needed, but predicting Gate activations seems challenging without Stanford-san. And the Senate members are…”

”Indeed. It may be difficult to continue capturing new Gates in our kingdom as before. However, Ms. Melon, just like you, I have not given up. If necessary, I am prepared to reclaim the Gates from our neighbors, even if it means engaging in battle.”

Her gaze hardened. “After all, this concerns the father of the child I carry.”

 ”Your Majesty…”

I understood the queen’s resolve, even if it meant going to war.

 That’s right.

A woman becomes stronger when she carries a child!

Still, I must think of ways to prevent war.

 But… Big Sister.

What will become of all this?

 *Third Person’s Perspective

In a fortress deep within the Empire’s mountains, Lord Asunabal was meeting secretly with General Peacock.

Standing nearby were a massive bear-man and a petite demon woman with glasses.

”Hmm, Bear. It seems he’s done his job properly this time,” Lord Asunabal is thrilled with a happy expression on the bearman.

”Yeah. But this time I had a hard time. I couldn’t carry the gate at the gate. Well, it was a very rural area so I was saved because there was little security. Anyway, pay, keep your promise “

”Hmm. Who are you talking about to? Once the gate is completed, it will be fine later. So Zahal. When will the gate be completed?”

Asked by Lord Asunabal, the demon woman with glasses answered.

”The fixing on this side is strong, but to fix that side, there is a need to prepare a certain amount of preparation. If we do this in secret… I would be grateful if you could give it about six months.”

”It’s six months… If it’s true, they’d planned to take that side with a fixed position too…Stanford’s idiot!” General Peacock said, swearing.

”It’s just a matter of time, and I got to get my hands on the items and skills. After that, we opened the gate as originally planned, and with my neighbors…”

”Waited. Lord Asunabal, no more than that is a quarantine phrase!” The general panickedly gestures to block Lord Asunabal’s mouth.

”Sorry. My mouth is slipping…So Zahal. I’ll prepare as many people and supplies as possible, so complete the gate with that world as soon as possible!”

After saying that, he forced them out, Lord Asunabal spoke to General Peacock.

”So, is the Imperial Palace okay?”

”It seems that Zerlant has been saying a lot, but the military is pressured to control information on communications between the imperial capital and the border, and the emperor can quickly take concrete action. Also… after we actually got the gate, our plans have become more realistic, and several of the most prominent surrounding lords have shown interest. If they were to be on their own, there would be no way to do anything like that. If that were the case, the day would be abandoned from the throne…”

”Hahahaha. That’s fine. But you should not be preoccupied until you’re ready. You have to act carefully here…”

”Of course. That’s all in place”

Then they both looked at each other and laughed haha.
