Rising Monk V2c59-3

Volume 2 Chapter 59 Witness I

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

’This one is being shown something…’

Kian finished his sword dance and held the wooden sword in a seigan (Iron Gate) stance.

He channeled his energy into the sword, imbuing it with ‘Impact’ – a technique that enhances the weapon with force.

”The movement using ‘Impact’ is also known as ‘Impact Strike’. Literally, it’s a technique where you strike your opponent or their weapon head-on, focusing on overpowering them with sheer force.”

Kian, with his enhanced wooden sword, aimed at Tengu’s wooden sword.

He waited for the perfect moment when Tengu brought his sword down, and then he slashed from the upper position, knocking Tengu’s sword away while simultaneously aiming for his head.

 Clang, clang!

The wooden swords clashed, creating a sharp, resonant sound.

The sound stood out in the serene environment.

Kian’s magic sword, d*ck sword, throbbed in sync with his movements, making a dry, popping sound…throb…throb.

”Kitsune, are you watching carefully? Against the enemy’s downward slash, we time our downward slash to knock away their weapon and simultaneously strike their face. It’s a basic move.”

Tengu was seriously following Kian’s lead.

Kitsune occasionally glanced at Kian’s groin but mostly swung the wooden sword together with him.

”From here on, it gets a bit more complex. Depending on the timing of the enemy’s downward slash, we might knock their weapon away and even strike their face. So, what should the defender do? The answer is to step back.”

Kian ordered Tengu to attack him.

Tengu’s sharp downward slash was avoided as Kian simply stepped back, putting himself out of reach.

In actual combat, one must gauge the distance according to the opponent’s race, be it Beastmen, humans, or elves, before stepping back.

”Now that we’re out of reach, we step forward aiming for the moment they leap to slash. Then we slash. Since the opponent will be delayed by the time they raise their sword, we must retreat. If you can use ‘Shot’ or magic, use it to keep them at bay. If you can cast ‘Wall,’ deploy a barrier.”

The types of slashing types are endless, depending on the type of enemy you expect.

One thing is certain: when faced with an opponent’s attack, you must respond with a deadly technique.

Even if you use ‘Impact’ to knock away their weapon, the next target is their head or wrist.

Taking down either is enough to kill them.

 Unless they possess supernatural powers.

”Remember, compared to the physical enhancement of Western World swordsmen, we may be faster, but we lack their strength. Their physical enhancement boosts their cellular structure, while our ‘Leap’ primarily distorts the physical laws within our bodies to increase speed.”

So, unlike the Western World swordsmen who become as sturdy as bears, the apostles of Azrael are fragile.

 Cellular enhancement?

 Just dodge the attack.

Attack first, kill before they can strike.

The best defense is an attack.

 That’s the mindset they have.

If you must take an attack, they say to erect a ‘Wall’ barrier.

In other words, Western World swordsmen, with their powerful magic swords and divine blades, have superior physical stats compared to Azrael’s warrior monks (though they often lack speed).

”That’s why Serena and her group are always searching for weapons engraved with strong magic language, spending vast amounts of money to maintain and acquire them. Without the gold, their attack power weakens.”

Azrael’s warrior monks don’t have such luxuries, so they learn to counter magic sword and divine blade users with ‘Impact’-derived techniques like ‘Break’, ‘Blast’, and ‘Pierce’.

Franz Kingdom knights use their swordsmanship like this, and we counter and kill them like this.

Mercenary King’s swordsmanship comes like this, and we counter and shatter it like this.

Church knights do it like this.

Beastmen’s body techniques are dodged like this, and countered like that.

Beastmen’s physical techniques are dominated and taken as follows.

Learn how to kill everything with logic.

For an unfamiliar swordsman, he must use a variety of ‘tactics’ to block his movements while fighting against opponents who always send a special blow.

First, if they kill each other, they won’t survive.

That’s why ‘Azrael’s Dance Swordsmanship’ is renowned as the strongest.

”As I mentioned earlier, it tends to focus heavily on offense, so there is a weakness in its vulnerability. But against foes you can cut down, it’s incredibly powerful.”

’Well, you used to face many opponents that couldn’t be killed by your blade, so I understand the other side’s concern. Especially if there were 2 heirs.’

”Next, I’ll teach you the basic technique of sword fighting using ‘Pierce,’ an advanced application of ‘Impact.’ Let’s begin──”

Kian said, his n*ked body glistening with a thin sheen of sweat.

But then, a loud creak echoed from above as the basement door was opened.

 ”Huh?!”

Kian’s eyes widened, and he dropped his wooden sword, then leaped into the nearby herb bushes in a single bound.

A moment later, light footsteps could be heard descending the stairs.

Christy appeared from the staircase leading to the ground floor.

Her hair was tied back with a ribbon, hanging loosely in front, as she often did at home.

 She wore a thin negligee.

 ”Hmm?”

(Damn, she noticed the wooden sword.)

While Kian gritted his teeth, the oblivious Christy approached the wooden sword lying on the grass, taking small, unsteady steps.

 ’Why did you strip n*ked…?’

(After sweating, I wanted to jump into a cold bath right away.)

’Is this the price you pay?’

(Wait, calm down. Clumsy Christy won’t notice me. She’s too focused on the sword.)

Kian pushed up the bridge of his glasses and slowly moved sideways through the herb bushes.

His clothes were scattered near the boundary of the training room.

If he made it back there, nothing unusual would be amiss.

(Ahh… This thrill is exhilarating. When I wear you, I understand the mindset of a criminal… I suppose.)

 ”Oh…”

Kian let out a soft exclamation.

Before him, a golem patrolling the herb garden had appeared, its gaze fixed on Kian.

The earthen giant stared down at him with a goofy face marked by simple dots for eyes.

 And then…

 ”Guoooo!”

 Boom!

and swing a huge fist down.

It seems he’s mistaking Kian as a pest or something.

 ”What’s that?’

 ”────!”

(Ohhh! She has noticed it! You idiot!)

 ”Who? Is there anyone?”

 ”……!”

Kian was half-conceived as he received the Golem’s fist with a ‘Wall’.

 He can’t escape.

Christy is heading towards us while structuring magic techniques.

If things continue like this, they’ll probably be able to release powerful magic.

or rather, a rock spear appeared vigorously from his feet.

(I know I’m in the basement, so why did you shoot such a murderous magic!)

He strengthen his fist with ‘impact’ to crush the spear and golem at the same time.

The Golem’s huge body tilted backwards and fell down in a flashy way.

 ”What…”

 (So far)

Kian pulls a bunch of herbs growing around it and then puts it on his crotch.

 Stick!

 Rubble slurps──.

”Huh!? Nyani!? What is it? Who is it?!”

 ”Kukuku…, you did it, Christina”

Even when he admit defeat, he must be proud of the warrior monk.

 Kian rose from the bush.

He generously exposes his well-trained, muscular, n*ked body, pushing up the bridge of ‘glasses’.

And he shows a defiant smile at the stunned dark-haired witch.

”It’s me. It’s me, Christina. Isn’t it a coincidence like this?”
