*Kerstin’s Perspective
”Hunting Group Leader Kerstin! A group of enemy monsters spotted in the forest ahead! The enemy consists of about 50 wyverns! They seem to have noticed us! They’re coming this way!”
”Go! Go! Go! Everyone take your shooting positions! The monsters won’t wait for us! Noemi! I need you to cover me!”
”Understood! I’ll flank right and support the Hunting Group Leader’s team!”
Noemi crossed the town street to move to the hill on the right side of the enemy monster group.
It seemed she would provide suppressive fire from a higher position.
Then, looking back, Manon had taken position on the roof of the brigade’s dedicated carriage with Targeting assistant Beatrice, aiming a sniper rifle.
Manon’s sniper rifle was an automatic, magazine-fed sniper rifle utilizing magic element gas pressure, modified by Aida who replaced the long barrel and removed the selector mechanism to attach a scope.
The ammunition was shared with Elitzina and used the same type, but the firing velocity and shooting accuracy of the Elitzina SC (Sniper Custom) far surpassed Elitzina, capable of inflicting fatal blows on monsters even from a thousand meters away.
However, affected by wind and gravity, the guaranteed hit range of Manon’s Sniper ability was around a thousand meters.
I sent a hand signal for prior shooting permission to Beatrice, who was acting as Targeting assistance.
After confirming my signal, Beatrice lightly touched Manon’s head.
Then, with her aim already set, Manon began shooting down the wyverns that were spreading out.
Bang, bang, bang.
The wyvern, hit by a magic bullet in what seemed to be its head, burst like a watermelon, scattering black mist as it disintegrated.
In response to Manon’s shooting, Noemi and her team on the hill began their supporting fire, and the confused swarm of wyverns was hit one after another, rapidly decreasing in number.
Tat-tat, tat-tat, tat-tat.
”At this rate, Noemi and Manon will take all the glory! My team will close the distance with the enemy! All units, fix bayonets! Advance!”
”Understood!”
My team readied their rifles with bayonets and moved toward the forest ahead.
About a hundred meters forward, as we closed the distance with the enemy, around 20 surviving wyverns glided toward us.
”Don’t let a single one escape! Anyone who misses such easy targets will have to run naked under the gaze of the Red Valkyrie recruits!”
””””Understood! I won’t miss!””””
The team members said this and took their shooting positions.
”Fire! Annihilate those filthy monsters! Each person, fire at will! Don’t shoot on full auto like the recruits!”
Bang, bang, bang, bang.
The members calmly executed my orders.
The wyverns approaching us were shot down one after another, hit by bullets.
This magic gun created by Ms. Aida is a remarkable weapon, boasting incredible power, range, and firing speed.
Unlike the previous single-shot models, it can overwhelm monsters with an overwhelming number of rounds.
Until recently, I could only watch in fear, but with this gun, I gained the power to easily kill monsters.
Now, monsters are no longer foes to fear, but merely targets to hunt.
”Hunt! I’ll teach these monsters that this is our land!”

After several shots, the grass was littered with the materials of the wyverns and their bodies.
Having finished the cleanup, I signaled Noemi and Beatrice to gather.
”Hunting Group leader… Still, there are so many monsters in the southern region. Just ten kilometers (6.21mil) south of Estfort, and there’s a group of 50 hanging around…”
After finishing the material collection, the team’s sub-leader spoke up.
She was also a seasoned member who had fought in the defense against the great invasion. ‘Black Bullet’ was a newly formed Hunting Group, but they had gained considerable practical experience over the past few months.

Although it was called an operation, only Kent’s Private Hunting Group, ‘Black Bullet’, and Beatrice and Manon from ‘Crimson Bride’ were involved.

The subleader’s girl was beaming at the abundance of the achievements.
For this operation, the ammunition was supplied by the Blackdagger family, and the materials from the hunted monsters can be disposed of by the participants.
So far, we’d taken down about 4 hundred various monsters.
It seems that by processing those materials, we can provide a reward of 2 gold coins per person.
”That’s quite lavish-nya. Kerstin, as the leader of the Hunting Group, will I receive that reward too-nya?”
Manon approached in the carriage, having overheard the discussion about rewards.
”Ms. Manon’s sniper skills are incredible. Thirty percent of the results are from Ms. Manon’s shooting. You will indeed be compensated.”
”What about Bea? Bea worked hard giving sniper instructions to Non-Non!”
Beatrice, who was assisting with Manon’s targeting, asked about her reward.

I thought I could distract Beatrice with candy, but it seemed she had grown wise to that.

Noemi, who had taken position on the hill, returned leading her team.
It seemed Noemi was impressed by Manon’s sniper skills and Beatrice’s high enemy detection ability.
Surprisingly, Noemi’s plan seemed like a good idea.

Peering out the window, I saw a hole in the grass near the town street.
”Hunting Group leader! We are ambushed! I confirmed the firing of a magical projectile! The enemy seems to be a monster with bombardment abilities!”
The sub-leader in the driver’s seat reported the cause of the shaking.
I had expected something to happen soon, but there had been reports of monsters attacking regular carriages in this area recently.
It seemed that monster was attacking our carriage.
”For now, drive the carriage into the nearby thicket! Here, we’ll be sitting ducks.”
”Understood.”
Beatrice and Manon opened the skylight and began to check their surroundings.
It seemed they were starting to search for the enemy monsters.
Leaving the enemy detection to the two of them, I gave instructions to the team.
”Once we enter the thicket, everyone spread out with combat equipment. Maintain a distance of 15 meters (16.4 yd).”

The bombardment continued, and the impacts were getting closer to the carriage.
There was still a bit of distance to the thicket.

”KerKer. I found the enemy! They’re hiding in the thicket on the right! Distance is 600 meters (656yd)! That’s an artillery gecko!”
”An artillery gecko… It’s impossible for them to adjust their fire just by themselves… Ms. Beatrice, is there a Dark Raven commanding nearby?”
This precise bombardment could only happen if a Dark Raven, capable of controlling low-intelligence monsters, was in charge.
Beatrice quickly spotted a group of Dark Ravens.
”KerKer. Several Dark Ravens are flying above the artillery gecko!”
”As I thought, they’re targeting us. After we spread out, let’s take down the Dark Ravens with Ms. Manon’s sniper.”
The carriage dodged the bombardment and charged into the desired thicket.
Just as the carriage stopped, the members were surrounded by Black Dogs.
Lured in by the bombardment…
I was reminded that I had fallen into the cunning trap of the Dark Ravens.
I was guided to a hiding spot by the precise bombardment, only to be ambushed there.
”Damn it, how cheeky for a monster! I’ll take care of this first. Let’s pray the monsters hold back on bombardments that could hit their allies.”
”Hunting Group leader… There are over 50 of them. My team will engage. Cover us!”
