”Lady Miriallia… It seems that there are quite a few spies from Gwain infiltrating Sir Kent’s surroundings… What will you do?”
The head of the Dorman family’s garden guards, Sebastian, asked.
He was under my command, tasked by Cefiro to monitor Gwain’s movements and protect Kent from the shadows.
Normally, this would be Lina or Lana’s responsibility, but perhaps Cefiro didn’t want his daughter to handle dirty work, so he delegated the authority of the Dorman family’s Intelligence organization to me.
I accepted without hesitation.
This was because the personnel I had called from the Dream Demon village were insufficient.
I believed that if I could utilize the Dorman family’s organization, I could gather a significant amount of information.
”What should we do… Lydiane is Kent’s favorite, and since she has no family to act as hostages in the royal capital, we can let her be free.”
”It seems that in Gwain’s organization, Lady Lydiane is only seen as a disposable source of information. I think it’s fine to let her go. However…”
With that, Sebastian presented a bundle of papers in front of me.
The cover of the bundle was labeled “Kent-Blackdagger Report.”
It detailed Kent’s daily activities, evaluations of various Hunting Groups, and even the economic status of Estfort.
Additionally, there were inquiries regarding Delprius’s abilities.
”Where did you obtain this report?”
”From the office of Lord Gertroud at the western fortress. It seems that is the base of operations for Gwain’s Intelligence organization.”
”Ah, right, he had been holed up there. Still, it seems that a report containing information about Dee has made its way to Gwain.”
”Yes, it appears that Lord Gertroud’s was a copied version.”
”This is a bit problematic, isn’t it? Right now, it’s not favorable for the matter with Dee to leak.”
I too thought Delprius was from the Majin Clan until she confessed, but it seems she is the daughter born between True Demon Hero Clayd and Black Dragon Queen Fabulanova, and she is a [red] bearer.
Clayd, unable to resist his daughter’s plea, had only disclosed the secret to Kent and me.
To recruit Clayd, we informed him that Kent was a [red] bearer.
Since Clayd didn’t trust us, we had Kent show a status Guild card, which concealed his ability.
Upon seeing the glowing red card, Clayd displayed a conflicted expression.
As a father, he probably didn’t want his daughter to marry someone like Kent, a womanizer, but considering the probability of their child being a [red] bearer, he could be the best partner after all.
Even Clayd couldn’t resist the temptation of a [red] bearer, and he reluctantly allowed Kent to marry his daughter.
Concerned about Kent’s low ability as Dee’s partner, Clayd takes him out to the suburbs every day during the free afternoon time, repetitively putting him through mock battles under the guise of training, returning home with Kent utterly beaten.
I asked Clayd to stop, but he wouldn’t listen, so now the afternoon mock battles have taken on the aspect of Crimson Bride VS Clayd.
Given the current situation, it’s extremely problematic for Gwain to discover Dee’s existence.
”Shall we eliminate Veronica?”
”Doing that would mean affirming Dee’s situation. Plus, killing her would raise suspicion from Kent. Let’s allow Veronica to decide for herself. Capture her.”
”Understood.”
Sebastian silently disappeared from my room.
Eventually, at night, after dinner, I returned to my room to find Veronica lying on the bed, wrapped up in rope.
I approache and removes the gag without removing the blindfold.
”What are you doing? I’m a servant of Kent Lady Blackdagger! Ngh, Ngh.”
Forcing open her mouth, I poured in a special concoction of Dream Demon Clan’s hypnotic drug, which had minimal side effects and the potency of an aphrodisiac.
Although Veronica, being a spy, might have undergone training to resist such drugs, this particular one was a closely guarded secret, and she likely had no immunity to it.
”Veronica, are you Kent’s servant?”
”Cough, cough. That voice…Lady Miriallia…Why are you doing this to me!”
”You should know better than anyone why I’m doing this.”
I removed the blindfold and slapped the report in front of her.
Seeing the scattered papers, Veronica began to tremble.
”…How did this report end up in Lady Miriallia’s hands…”
”Gertroud made a copy, it seems. Next time, you should deliver it yourself. That is, if there is a next time.”
”…Damn…That fool of a General is utterly useless…So, you’re going to kill me?”
Veronica seemed to have accepted her fate.
”If I could kill you easily, I would have done it already. Besides, I can’t kill Kent’s servant without his permission. I have other plans for you, so I won’t kill you.”
As we spoke, the effects of the drug began to take hold.

After a moment of silence, Veronica resignedly agreed to cooperate.
”I understand… I’ll provide information about Gwain’s organization, so please give me the suppressants.”
”No, that’s not going to happen.”
