Fake Survivor 39

Chapter 39

”Oh, you can lift your head now…”

 ”Y-yes.”

For a moment, I admired her chest, pulled down by gravity… I felt like offering her some underwear, but for now, I was hiding my ability to create things.

Well, it would be weird for a guy she just met to give her underwear anyway.

So, I asked her to lift her head and moved the conversation to the next stage.

”So, about when we should go look for a room…”

”My side is ready anytime. There are more adventurers around this time, so companies that take in those people rent rooms cheaply. So, I think we should hurry if we can.”

After the harvest season, adventurers come to this city for various reasons, hoping to strike it rich.

If companies are taking in these new adventurers… it means they are thinking about training them.

Newbies can secure housing, and companies can get new talent while landlords have fewer empty rooms.

Such companies must be quite large, and if that’s the case, landlords would feel safe renting to them, so affordable rooms will fill up quickly.

”Then, is it okay to go right now?”

 ”Yes, that’s fine. But…”

 ”What is it?”

Ms. Monoka agreed to join me in the sudden room search, but she seemed to be curious about my appearance, so I asked.

”If we’re going to be in a room, it will be as ‘Koji,’ right? Are you going to negotiate with the real estate agents and landlords looking like that?”

 ”Ah…”

One reason for renting a room is to take a bath without worries, and even without that, I should often be in my natural form.

I can instantly wear the Magic Armor, so it’s fine to rent a room as “Mose,” but… “Mose” was created to draw attention in place of “Koji” because of Iris and “Gem Snake” situation.

Since “Mose” is like that, it could get troublesome if I get tracked or if other residents find out I’m coming and going from the room.

Also, negotiating to rent a room through writing could be annoying.

”I’m planning to use the room as ‘Koji,’ so this outfit isn’t good. But then, there’s the problem of how to explain the relationship between ‘Koji’ and you, Ms. Monoka.”

 ”Ah, that’s true.”

She met “Mose” through Frederica’s introduction, and it’s “Mose” who comes and goes here.

So, there shouldn’t be any connection between “Koji” and Ms. Monoka, and it will definitely raise the question of why she would be willing to be “Koji’s” guarantor.

I think about how to handle that issue for a while, but after some time, Ms. Monoka comes up with this idea.

”Um, if you don’t mind me suggesting…”

”Huh? Do you have a good idea?”

”Well… whether it’s a good idea or not depends on Mr. Koji.”

 ”Me? What do you mean?”

When I ask her, she cautiously presents her idea.

”Um… this is just a hypothetical, but what if we say that I’m dating you?”

”Huh? Is it okay to say that? What about your real boyfriend…?”

Since Ms. Monoka is a beautiful woman with a great figure, there’s a high chance she has a real boyfriend, and I would feel bad if that setup caused any problems in their relationship.

I thought so and asked her about it… but she shook her head vigorously, her chest swaying with the force of her denial.

”A real one? N-No! I don’t have anyone like that!”

”Is that so? Well, then, it’s a good thing I asked, isn’t it?”

 ”Good thing?”

”Yes. It just so happens that you don’t have a partner right now, right?”

 ”W-Well, that’s…”

Ms. Monoka stumbled over her words in response to my question.

 Hmm? This…

”Could it be that you’ve never had a partner like that before?”

 ”Umm… w-well, to put it bluntly…”

Despite her embarrassment, it was hard to imagine that someone with her beauty didn’t have suitors, so there must be other circumstances at play.

”Ah, I see. Well, it’s not uncommon for people to not find someone they ‘click’ with.”

After all, everyone has their own unique preferences when it comes to looks and personality.

Thinking it wouldn’t be right to pry further, I said as much, but she asked me something else.

”…Do you think I ‘click’ with you, Mr. Koji?”

”Hmm? Are we talking about preferences here?”

”Yes. You seem to like, um, these.”

Ms. Monoka said, gently jiggling her chest with her hands.

Earlier, I had witnessed the way her body responded to gravity, and now she was willingly putting on a display of her own volition, which was just as captivating.

In response to her question, I said,

”Well, I did assume you had a partner already, so I find you that attractive.”

 ”Really?! Are you serious?!”

Ms. Monoka leaned in closer to me again.

With her hands on either side of me, her chest, framed by her arms, was even more prominent.

Despite my awareness of her assets, I continued our conversation.

”That’s true. Well, I don’t plan on getting a girlfriend right now, so I have no intention of making a move.”

When I said that to reassure her, Ms. Monoka seemed to get stuck on the part about me not wanting a girlfriend.

”Huh? So, you’re not dating Ms. Iris?”

”Not at all. Well, she did offer her body as a ‘thank you’ for helping her, so I’ve been enjoying that in various ways.”

”Is that so? Then… w-what about me?”

 ”What do you mean?”

”I mean, to be your girlfriend!”

Ms. Monoka seemed determined to strengthen our relationship, probably because of work, but…

”Isn’t it a bit too soon to decide after just one day of knowing each other?”

 ”Ugh. That’s true, but…”

I continued after seeing her hesitate.

”Besides, not wanting a girlfriend is a personal issue for me.”

 ”A personal issue?”

”Yeah. I can’t go into details, though.”

Just in case, if my background gets exposed, there’s a chance I could be hunted down, so I need to be ready to leave this city at any time.

In that sense, my relationship with Iris is also tricky… Worst case, I might have to find a way to buy the magic item as “someone” who is neither “Koji” nor “Mose.”

Hearing my words, Ms. Monoka didn’t seem to give up completely, but she decided to put the girlfriend talk on hold for now.

”Okay, so let’s put that discussion on hold…”

She lifted her butt from the position she was in and sat closer to me, bringing the conversation back to the main topic.

I adjusted the sensation through the Magic Armor, feeling its softness as I listened to her talk.

”About the guarantor… let’s just say it’s because we’re dating.”

 ”Is that okay?”

”I checked because of Ms. Iris, but it makes it easier for me to turn down people who come on to me~♪.”

”Oh, I see… but if there are people coming on to you, were there any good ones among them?”

”There were some, but Mrs. Frederica strongly opposed it, and then it turned out that the person’s goal was the orphanage’s land…”

”That’s… hard to say if it was good or bad…”

”Hehe, I think it was good. We were able to protect this place, and I got to meet you~♡.”

 *Squish*

As I felt her chest pressed against me, I wondered how to respond to her, who had become more forward since I was technically single.

I could tell there was more to it, but the reason she liked me was probably my income or future prospects.

The fact that Frederica introduced us seemed to give her a lot of comfort… or maybe that was the bigger reason.

Anyway, are there really people targeting this land?

Well, in a city surrounded by walls, land is limited, so I can understand why someone would want to go after available land.

That could lead to some troublesome situations… but Frederica would probably handle that.

Thinking that, I returned my mind to searching for a room.

”Then, let’s say that’s ‘our relationship’, and from now on, I’ll be asking for your help… where should I meet you after I take off my armor?”

”Um, you can take it off here if you want…”

”From here, it would be strange if ‘Koji’ came out when he shouldn’t be here. We can’t know who might be watching.”

 ”Ah…”

If someone has targeted this land before, it wouldn’t be surprising if there are people keeping an eye on it.

That’s why I said that with more caution, and it seems Ms. Monoka agreed.

”Then… how about we meet at the square in front of the dungeon, at the entrance to the road leading to the southeast area?”

 ”Eh? The southeast area?”

 ”Is there a problem?”

”No, it’s just that the inn I was staying at is in the southeast area. Well then, see you later.”

 ”Yes. Oh, right!”

As I decided on the meeting place and lowered my helmet to get up, Ms. Monoka called out as if she just remembered something.

 ”What is it?”

”Well, I thought I could give you the sorted magic stones we have. Since you’re going near the guild, why not exchange them while you’re at it?”

Oh, that would be really helpful for me right now.

I was even thinking of making some money in the dungeon after I finished looking for a room.

It would be bad for ‘Koji’ to carry the bag of magic stones that ‘Mose’ had, so I should create a different container to pack them when I take off my Magic Armor.

 ”Then I’ll take them.”

”Yes. I’ll go get them now.”

Saying that, Ms. Monoka stood up and headed for the exit door, but as she opened it, 3 girls tumbled into the room.

 *Creeeak*

 ”Whoa…”

 ”Wait!”

 ”Oof!”

 *Thud*

Those girls seemed to be the ones who were watching from the door when I was talking to the girl at the gate, including the one I spoke to.

Phew, I’m glad I lowered my helmet.

I felt relieved that I could keep my true identity hidden, but… the administrator here, Ms. Monoka, seemed to be quietly angry, probably because my contract with her could be canceled.

 ”…No dinner for you~♪.”

 ”””What!?”””

At her cheerful announcement, the voices of the 3 hungry childrens rose in a mix of screams.
