Chapter 12 Thief Martina

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 (Martina’s POV)

”We 3, let’s form a party of childhood friends!”

The warrior, Isaac, raises his mug.

 ”””Cheers!”””

I’m Martina, the ‘Thief,’ along with Roana, the ‘Magician,’ and Isaac, the warrior. Isaac and Roana are the same age, but I’m one year younger.

In this country, you can register as an adventurer when you turn 12, but we decided to wait until I turn 15 to form our party so we could train properly.

 ”Ugh, this is bitter.”

That was my first reaction after drinking beer for the first time.

”It gets addictive! A well-chilled beer beats everything else!”

Isaac says this and finishes his mug in one go.

”We’ve spent about 3 months gaining experience around this village while waiting for Martina to finish her training, and it’s really a great place for beginners like us.”

Roana smiles while sipping her beer.

”Hey… you two are already a party without me.”

I pouted while poking at the meat skewers because the bitter beer wasn’t to my taste.

”Why are you sulking? Without your skills as a thief, we wouldn’t be complete.”

Isaac pokes my forehead with his finger.

”That’s right! Because you’ve become so capable, we can finally register as a party!”

Roana pats my head. Honestly, with these two, I’ll always be in the little sister position.

* * *

Back in our hometown, they always comforted me when the boys bullied me and I cried.

”Hey. You don’t look good when you cry.”

Saying that, Roana wiped my tears with a handkerchief.

”We’re both on your side. Now, let’s go home.”

Isaac said this as he always carried me back.

* * *

 ”I’m not sulking.”

When I smiled back, the two of them looked happy. We would always be together, the 3 of us.

 ”Ah, I drank a lot.”

Isaac supported the unsteady Roana as we left the shop.

Because of the alcohol I had for the first time, my body felt hot even though it was early spring night.

”Alright, let’s head back to the inn.”

Isaac started walking, dragging Roana along as he lent her his shoulder.

”I’m going to take a little walk to sober up.”

 ”Are you okay?”

”Yeah. I feel like walking a bit. It’s my first time in this village, so I want to explore a little.”

Well, not wanting to interrupt Isaac and Roana is one reason too. They’ve been close friends for a long time. Their bond must have grown even more in the 3 months while I was training.

”The air is clear and feels nice.”

Having trained for a long time in the royal capital, I found that this Razia Village smelled a bit like my hometown, and I liked it.

* * *

 ”No way! It’s suddenly raining!”

After walking for about an hour, I got caught in the rain. The alcohol had worn off long ago, and the raindrops felt really cold.

I decided to take shelter in an abandoned house I happened to pass by.

 (Phew, the entrance is open…)

Using my thief skills, I checked inside. Yep. No one is here.

 ”Excuse me…”

 I quietly stepped inside.

”I guess I’ll wait until the rain stops…”

 (I think there’s a towel in my pouch…)

Just as I was about to open my waist pouch…

 ”Ugh!”

A strong impact hit the back of my head.

I barely managed to keep my consciousness from fading and quickly fled the scene.

When I pressed my hand to my head… it was bleeding.

And ahead, several red lights shone.

 ”Goblins! What? My ‘Detection’ didn’t…”

Several goblins leaped out of the darkness and attacked.

(I’m done if multiple goblins pin me down.)

I held back the bleeding from my head and drew my dagger.

I parried the goblin’s club with my dagger as it attacked from the right, but in that moment, a shock ran through my left leg.

 ”Guh!”

It seemed that another goblin’s club had struck my left knee.

 (No… it’s broken…)

I dragged my left leg and tried to retreat, but the goblin, seeing my plight, leered and brandished his club, leaping at me.

 ”No!”

I tried to ward him off with my dagger, but it was deflected, and I dropped my weapon.

 (No… no… help…)

 5 goblins were grabbing me.

I shook off the goblin holding my arm and kicked the goblin holding my leg, but another goblin tackled my waist, and I was finally knocked down.

 ”Noooooo!”

I struggled and tried to shake off the goblins, but a club was swung down on my right leg.

 ”It hurts!”

My right leg is also broken… I can’t escape.

I tried to crawl away on my belly, but the goblins pounced on my back and pinned me down.

My leather armor was torn off, and my underwear was ripped.

 ”No! Help! Help me!”

I was turned over onto my back, and my leather armor was torn off my chest.

A goblin clamped onto my exposed breasts.

”It hurts! It hurts! No, no, nooooo!”

Then came an intense pain in my lower abdomen that I had never felt before.

 ”Ahhhh! Ouch! It hurts!”

 (… I… I was caught by a goblin…)

I had heard of the ‘fate of female adventurers captured by goblins’ a few times.

I was not allowed to die, and would be forever a plaything for goblins, impregnated with their seed, and forced to give birth to hideous goblins endlessly.

 ”Help… me… Isaac… Roana…”

I whispered, and a goblin’s ugly p*nis was thrust into my mouth, covering it.

* * *

How much time had passed? It felt like an eternity to me.

Since then, I had been dragged into another room and continuously r*ped by a goblin who was even bigger.

My arms had been broken to prevent me from resisting, and I couldn’t move.

And because of the intense pain in the broken parts of my body, I wasn’t allowed to lose consciousness.

There was no more pain in my private parts. Just a numb sensation.

Only my lower abdomen was uncomfortable. How much fluid had been poured into me?

 (I want to die… I want to die soon…)

 Eventually, the room became noisy.

I had my eyes open, but my vision wasn’t functioning. I didn’t want to see anything.

After a while, the weight that had been on top of me suddenly lightened.

Then my head was lifted, and I was enveloped in a soft, warm sensation.

 ”…Kill me… please… kill me…”

I wanted to die, enveloped in this warm sensation. I continued to whisper, begging for death.

 (It’s okay… it’s going to be okay…)

 I heard a child’s voice.

I wanted to see who it was, so I accepted my vision, which I had been rejecting.

A blurry figure came into view: a crying boy. He seemed to be gently holding my head.

 ”It’s okay…”

 The boy whispered.

 (Isaac?)

Then a girl gently wiped my cheek with a handkerchief.

(Roana…? So, I was bullied and crying again…)

 ”Ah… Isaac… let’s go home together…”

Please carry me home again, Isaac…

* * *

 (Hiroya’s POV)

 ”It’s probably a mix-up from fear… or maybe a regression to childhood…”

Mr. Rudolf, who finished treating the thief, is explaining to the male and female adventurers who rushed in.

We 3 are sitting in the corner of the treatment room, hugging our knees. Yes, we got in a lot of trouble from the adults, including our parents.

 ”So… is Martina okay…?”

A female adventurer, looking like a magician, asks in a flustered way.

”Her body is fine now… I treated her inside and her uterus too… she’s not pregnant.”

 ”Martina… how did this happen…”

A male adventurer, looking like a warrior, sits down and starts crying. This guy seems to be the Isaac that the thief mentioned.

”It was somewhat convenient that she regressed to childhood. I erased all her memories of what happened in this village. There’s no chance she’ll remember anything.”

Mr. Rudolf washes his hands with alcohol and sits down, drying his hands with a towel.

”If she lives in a quiet place and calms down, her other memories should come back.”

Ms. Giselle hands a handkerchief to Isaac.

 ”Thank you.”

”You should stay in this village for a while and settle down. Fortunately…”

 Mr. Rudolf’s gaze catches us.

”Right now, it seems she recognizes these kids as her childhood friends.”

 ”Huh?”

 Kazumi makes a strange sound.

”Oh my? You all will take responsibility for taking care of little Martina, right? …You can handle that much work, can’t you?”

 Ms. Giselle winks.

 ”…Can I count on you?”

Mr. Isaac tightly grips my hand.

”We’re going back to our hometown village for now and getting ready to start living with Martina. And until we come to pick her up… please.”

A girl named Roana, who seems to be a magician, bows to us.

”No, we have to do community service in the village too…”

That’s right. We, who did such dangerous things, got scolded badly by the adults.

Jan and Alisa’s parents, as well as Isaac and Roana, were really grateful to us, but it doesn’t change the fact that we did something dangerous.

’For a while, you should focus on community service.’

 That’s what my father ordered.

”It’s fine if we do it together. Martina will get better after a while.”

In the end, we were pushed into taking care of the girl thief named Martina by Ms. Giselle.

”Well then, please take care of Martina.”

Isaac and Roana bowed and left the clinic.

”Now, you all should stay here.”

Ms. Giselle urged us to sit down.

”We’ve taken you in under the ‘observation’ pretense. By morning, your parents’ anger should have calmed down.”

Mr. Rudolf laughed while puffing on a cigarette.

I, Kazumi, and Rena were taken to the bedroom, feeling down.
