I hurriedly pull away from Kazumi.
Kazumi opens her eyes and turns to look back.
”Your memories from your past life came back, right? And you’re already getting all cozy! Well, it’s fine, I guess!”
A girl in a white dress with long silver hair peeks out from behind a stone monument.
She has translucent white skin. Her blue eyes have long eyelashes that make her look a bit strict. She’s definitely a beautiful girl.
I feel like I’m being drawn in by her eye color, which I’m not used to from my original world. But honestly, I think black eyes like mine, Kazumi’s, and our families’ are actually rare here.
This beautiful girl’s name is ‘Rena Rosen.’ She’s a girl who is strongly etched in my memories of this world, along with Kazumi. She’s the only daughter of the ‘healing clinic’ that moved to this village around the same time as Kazumi.
”Rena──how do you know about the memories from our past lives?”
After looking at the girl, I meet Kazumi’s gaze. Yeah. It seems like Kazumi remembers her too.

The girl who calls herself Rena smiles happily and sits down between me and Kazumi, pushing her butts in.
”Rena noticed something was off with both of you during the opening ceremony today. That’s when you regained your ‘past life memories,’ right?”
Saying that, she wraps her arms around both of ours. Um… it’s pressing against her ‘rather plump’ chest.

Kazumi smiles back at Rena.
”I’ll explain everything now. First, let’s talk about myself.”
Saying that, Rena straightens up between me and Kazumi.
”Your ‘other childhood friend,’ Rena Rosen, is just a temporary form…”
She looks back and forth between me and Kazumi, smiling.
”Actually, I am the goddess of this world, Goddess Rena!”

So now we have a goddess showing up.

”I’m really sorry about what happened in the original world. I almost got hit by a truck, and I accidentally changed its path with magic…”
According to Rena, who claims to be a goddess, we almost died when she was visiting our world and got into an accident.

Since you all have been born in this world for several years now, I thought your memories from your past life might start coming back soon. ”You can think of this world as a parallel world to your original one. There might be other people who look like people you know.”
Rena, as the goddess, continued her explanation.
”So we can be with our family from the original world…”
I see.
”Rena made all the arrangements, okay? So you could be reincarnated into the same family in this world, and you two could live in the same village.”
Rena said this with a proud look.
”I see. So even though we don’t have our past life memories, Kazumi and I were able to get along…”

Even the goddess──Rena──looks a bit exasperated.

”Really?”
Kazumi looks at me seriously.

Rena pats my arm.

Kazumi suddenly turns red.
”Because during that accident, he fell to protect you. Unfortunately, both of you were out of luck… Aren’t you two dating?”
Rena looks back and forth between me and Kazumi.
”I wish we could be…”
My quiet words make Kazumi’s face turn even redder.
”Right? You were almost about to kiss earlier, weren’t you? You little perverts!”
Rena says with a laugh. Well, you’re also a kid right now, you know.
”Anyway, I can’t give you cheat skills, but Kazumi, you have talent for magic. Don’t worry, if you work hard, you’ll definitely become a great magician.”
”Really?”
”Yeah. If you want, Rena can teach you a lot.”
”Yay!”
Kazumi raises both hands in joy.
”But remember, only as ‘classmates,’ okay? You can’t suddenly use high-level magic.”
That makes sense. There’s a certain level of ‘magical power’ that fits our age, and even if I’m called a ‘swordmaster,’ I still have the stamina of someone my age.

Saying that, Rena kisses both my and Kazumi’s cheeks alternately.

Kazumi grabs Rena’s arm and shakes it while looking at me.

Rena, looking shy, mumbled as she looked down.

Rena looked up and said cheerfully with a smile.

As the 3 of us looked down at the peaceful village, Rena talked about school and the village.
”So, Rena, you live here as a normal kid, right? What about your dad and mom…?”
I thought about Rena’s parents from my memories. Is the Rena in front of me really born to those parents, or is she using some memory trick to fit in with a family that looks like them?
”I live with Papa and Mama. I wanted to be with you when your past life memories came back, so I’ve been here for about 2 years now.”
Rena answered with a lovely smile.
”Are they… your real human parents? Like foster parents…?”
”No way! They are my real Papa and Mama!”
Rena quickly answered Kazumi’s question.
”When I was little, both of them were always busy… so we didn’t spend much time together as a family… That’s why I’m really happy to live here with my family of 3.”
”Does that mean… there are god families living in this village?”
The fact made my voice tremble without me realizing it.
”Yeah! Just like me, they live here as split bodies. I want to introduce you to them properly, so why not come over?”
”…What do you think, Kazumi?”
”I kind of want to meet them…”
Of course, I remembered Rena’s parents since I got to know Rena. Kazumi felt the same way.
Now that my memories from my past life have returned, both Kazumi and I want to greet each other again. Luckily, it seems we still have plenty of time until sunset.
”Let’s go!”
Rena stood up and pulled both Kazumi and me by the hands.
The 3 of us ran down the hill, still holding hands.
