Chapter 64 Confession

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

After we got back to the inn, we asked the innkeeper, who was still awake even though it was late, to prepare another room for us. I wanted to have an important talk with Kazumi and Rena.

We received the key to the room next door and first took Martina and Liz, who was still a bit drunk, back to our original room.

”Can I have just a little time? I have something important to tell everyone later, so please wait here with Liz for a bit.”

Martina nodded seriously at my words.

”I’ll take good care of Big Sister Liz.”

Martina said that and took Liz into the room.

* * *

”I want to tell Liz and Martina that I’m a ‘reincarnator’.”

I spoke to Rena and Kazumi in the extra room we borrowed.

”They are important friends now and in the future, and I want to make sure they know. Plus, Martina has seen me.”

When I faced Otto earlier, I felt a power emerge when I wanted to confront him as my past self, ‘Obu Hiroya.’ I didn’t realize it myself, but it seemed to others that I looked ‘big.’

”That’s right. Rena was surprised too, but it wasn’t that Hiroya’s body got bigger. I can’t find the right words, but it was like an aura or spiritual power that shaped the past ‘Obu Hiroya’…”

”Yeah. That was the back of your old Hiroya. What was happening?”

Kazumi asked, and I thought for a moment before starting to explain.

”I’m not sure if I can explain it well, but…”

* * *

”I am definitely Hiroya O’Brien. I was reincarnated in this world. However, my soul is Obu Hiroya. So, this child’s body has been really frustrating for me. It’s hard to do anything.”

Kazumi and Rena nodded and listened.

”But I thought it was normal and unavoidable to be born and live in this world. I kept telling myself, ‘I’m just a kid.’ But then…”

I paused to gather my thoughts and put them into words.

”After I met Elberhardt, I started thinking, ‘What if I could use the power of my past self?’ There was a time when I consciously moved my body as if I were my past self… and I was able to move even more than when I used ‘Physical Boost’ like tonight.”

”…I knew it, Hiroya, you were already a cheat in your past life. If it were a different time, you would definitely be praised as a ‘sword master’.”

 Rena laughed in disbelief.

”Maybe by being aware of ‘Obu Hiroya,’ your soul became its ‘original size,’ and the extra power overflowed because it couldn’t fit in this child’s body. I never expected something like that. At that moment, Hiroya was definitely a swordsman with ‘S-rank’ power that surpassed humans.”

Saying that, Rena grabbed my arm.

 ”That hurts!”

”Of course. It’s a boost beyond ‘Physical Boost.’ The strain on your body must be terrible. You should definitely recover. It’s not even at a training level anymore.”

Rena held her palms out to me. With a light green glow, she healed me.

”Thank you. I feel much better now.”

”Try not to use that kind of power too much. I know it’s frustrating, but you need to train your current body steadily.”

She said that and patted my back after healing me.

”Yeah. I will. But since Martina saw it, I don’t want to hide it weirdly. I want to explain the truth to both Martina and Liz. Oh, of course, Kazumi and Rena are different, so just about me…”

”I also want to tell the truth properly.”

Kazumi, who had come closer, hugged my arm.

”Then, since we are friends who will continue to trust each other with our lives… I want to make sure to say it.”

”Rena, saying ‘I’m a goddess!’ would be a bit much, so… I’ll just explain that I’m the ‘witness’ who knows your situation.”

”Is that okay for both of you?”

”Rena loves Martina and Liz too, you know? Rena can’t tell her own ‘true feelings,’ but just being able to share about you two makes her feel better.”

Rena and Kazumi nodded at me in agreement.

 ”Alright, let’s go then.”

We headed back to the original room.

* * *

When we entered the room, Martina was sitting at the living room table, and Liz was sitting on the bed.

”Liz? Are you okay? Are you still feeling the effects of the alcohol?”

Liz’s face turned red at my question.

”No… I’m fine. I feel a bit fuzzy about what happened after drinking, though.”

”Do you remember me taking you back from Otto?”

 ”I… I remember that…”

Liz’s face turned even redder. She must be recalling my declaration of ‘my girl.’ I need to talk to Kazumi about that.

”I have something important to discuss. It’s something that you all might find hard to believe, but… I want you to listen.”

Martina, who had been told there was an ‘important discussion,’ nodded seriously. Liz looked confused, but when she saw my serious expression, she straightened up.

”I have memories from my past life.”

* * *

”I lived in a world before I was born, and I died at 23 years old. I was born into this world with those memories.”

 ”…Um, what does that mean?”

Liz looked a bit lost. Martina looked the same.

 ”Let me explain from there.”

”Wait a second. I’m moving over there too.”

Liz said this and sat next to Martina. Both Liz and Martina straightened up and looked at me again. Kazumi sat next to me, and Rena moved to the bed and sat down.

”In the world I was in, there was a belief in ‘reincarnation.’ When a person dies, their heart and soul go to the gods. There, they get cleansed of the impurities and karma they collected while living, and then they are reborn into a new life. Do you understand so far?”

 Liz and Martina nodded quietly.

”Of course, since they get cleansed, their memories from their previous life are erased. A new life starts from 0, but…”

I looked at Kazumi. Kazumi nodded slightly and continued my words.

”I also died in the same accident with Hiroya. I was 29 years old. And both of us probably went straight to this world without going to heaven… So, I think we were reborn with our past life memories.”

”So, Hiroya and Kazumi were together in their past life?”

”Yes, we were colleagues… I mean, we worked together. And… I was in love with Hiroya. But that feeling never came true… We both died in the accident.”

 Kazumi answered Liz’s question slowly.

 ”I liked Kazumi too.”

 Tears filled Martina’s eyes.

”But… being reborn here… it came true, right? Big Brother Hiroya, Big Sis Kazumi… I’m so glad…”

Martina spoke with a tearful voice.

”I see. So, Hiroya’s heart is 23 years old, and Kazumi’s heart is 29 years old.”

”That’s right, Liz. Exactly. Even though we are kids, our hearts are adults.”

”That makes sense. No wonder you both seemed so mature.”

”So, for example, my sword skills are from my past life. I practiced the sword techniques I remembered and applied them to my current body.”

”And Rena is like an angel watching over two of them?”

 ””Rena has a secret too!?””

Liz and Martina turned to look at Rena sitting on the bed.

”Whether I’m an angel or not, I know that two of them were reborn into this world with their past life memories. I think my role is to help them both live well in this world.”

Rena said this with a bright smile.

”So, Martina. The ‘big me’ you saw when you were with Otto tonight is probably the form of ‘Obu Hiroya’ from my past life.”

”Hiroya’s past life was someone with skills above ‘Rank S swordsman’ in this world.”

 Rena spoke proudly.

”But why does the form from the past life appear?”

 Martina asked, wiping her tears.

”Yeah. It seems that my soul or heart, whatever it is, overflowed and took that form. ──To be honest, I don’t really understand it either. I was frustrated by my child’s body, and when I thought, ‘If only I were my former self…’, that’s when it happened.”

”So… Hiroya and Kazumi had such a secret. But why did you tell us?”

”Liz… I didn’t want to lie to you or Martina. Since you’re the two people I trust with all my heart, I wanted you to know the real me and Kazumi.”

”Oh, the way you sometimes speak like this makes you seem more mature. Of course, you’re older than me.”

 Liz laughed heartily.

”It’s true… you were really my big brother and sister…”

 Martina blushed and smiled.

”So… can I rely on you from now on?.”

”Please continue to treat me as Lady Liz.”

 ”…But… do you believe us?”

 Kazumi asked anxiously.

”If Hiroya and Kazumi say so, then that must be the truth. We just have to accept it.”

Martina nodded in agreement with Liz’s response.

”…Hiroya and Kazumi, you have great companions.”

”What are you saying, Rena? You’re also a valuable companion and family.”

”Big Sister Rena is also a valuable companion and family. I’ve always thought so.”

”…Are the two of you trying to make Rena (me) cry?”

At Liz and Martina’s words, Rena smiled, but her eyes were moist with tears.

* * *

”Is this the end of our important talk? Well, I want to go to bed early for tomorrow, so Hiroya and Kazumi, please go to the next room.”

 ”Huh? Why?”

 ”Come on, let’s sleep together.”

Liz ignored our protests and pushed us towards the door of the room.

”…After all, they’re lovers from their past lives, so let’s give them some privacy once in a while. It’s only ‘once in a while’, you know.”

”Yeah, it’s only ‘once in a while’.”

”I’ll also give my permission for ‘once in a while’, Rena.”

The three of us smiled mischievously and eventually kicked us out of the room.

”…That’s what they said, Ms. Kazumi…”

 ”Let’s go to the room…”

We opened the door to the next room and entered together.

As soon as we closed the door, Kazumi hugged me and kissed me.

 ”Tonight… I want you to hold me…”

”…It’s been a long time since we’ve been alone together.”

”Since I saw that ‘Hiroya’ back… I can’t hold back anymore… So… tonight, I want you to go all the way──.”

 ”Will you…? .”

Without waiting for Kazumi’s answer, I returned the kiss. I embraced her tightly, our tongues entwined.

”Mmm… n… I want you to do it.”

 I whispered in Kazumi’s ear.

 ”I will… all the way…”

 ”Haaaan~♡.”

As I whispered, I lifted Kazumi, who was about to collapse from the waist down, and headed towards the bed.
