Today, I finally maxed out my Magic Power.
From now on, I’m going to have Mom, Emma, make the inside of my Magic Power organ into a subspace.
I lay on my back on the bed, with a towel over my face, so I couldn’t see anything.
Nervously, I waited for Mom’s voice.
”Rob, are you ready? During the procedure, make sure to keep ‘Pain Nullification’ active without stopping.”
”Got it! Just do it quickly!”
”…You really aren’t scared at all, even though I’m going to cut open your stomach. Impressive.”
I activated ‘Pain Nullification’ as Mom told me to.
With this, even if my stomach gets cut open and the magic stone is embedded in my Magic Power organ, I should be fine.
(I struggled a lot to raise my Magic Power this high, but I finally made it. This is proof of my growth!)
”Alright, let’s begin.”
Saying that, Mom held a sharp scalpel, and the procedure to turn my Magic Power organ into a subspace storage started.
Wrapped in tension, I tightly closed my eyes.

Before I knew it, Mom’s procedure was over.
It probably took about 30 minutes.
My heart was beating a little fast, but it was okay.
”Okay, all done. Good job, Rob. I healed the wound with healing magic, so you should be fine to close ‘Pain Nullification’ now.”
”Oh, wow! So now I’ve broken the limits of my Magic Power, just like Mom!”
”That’s how it is. Ancient magic above the 11th level requires a lot of Magic Power, so make sure to train your Magic Power well from now on.”
”Of course! I’ll become a mage even greater than you, Mom!”
”Hehe. That’s reassuring… Should I make your training even tougher from now on?”
Mom’s eyes sparkled a little suspiciously.
I felt a sudden tension, and I shivered a bit.
”…Ah, it’s been tough enough already, so it’s fine to keep it the same level!”
”Hehe, if you say that, I might want to make it even stricter, you know?”
”Eh!? Not that… I mean, being too strict is a bit…”
I wished for mercy, having already felt a sense of danger before, and I really didn’t want it to get worse.
”Hehehe, I’m really happy that Rob has grown this much at your age. As promised, I’ll teach you time-space magic, but do you want to start learning right away?”
”Oh! Yes, please! I want to learn right now! …Oh, by the way, what level of magic is subspace magic? It would be awesome if I could use it by the time I become an adventurer!”
”Well… ‘Dimensional Creation’ is 15th-level magic, but if you want to master it by the age of ten, you’ll need to focus only on time-space magic for a year without training in other magic. If it’s you, Rob, you might just barely make it.”
…Seriously? Then I’ve decided on my training from now on.
”Mom, I’ll train only in time-space magic for a year!”
”Hehe, then first, make sure to read this thoroughly when you have time.”
My mom opened a space and took out a magic book about time and space, then handed it to me.
Excitement spread in my heart, and a hot passion ignited within me.
”Got it! I’ll read it with all my might and definitely master it!”

I went out to the garden.
I saw Rumi and Nana practicing magic together.
When Rumi noticed me, she ran over like a little bird.
”Rob, are you okay?”
Rumi looked worried and got so close that our noses almost touched.
”Y-Yeah, of course. I succeeded without a scratch, so don’t worry.”
”That’s good… I was really worried thinking if Rob got seriously hurt, it would be a big deal.”
Lately, Rumi’s sense of personal space has been a bit off, and it’s a little hard to handle.
Well, considering all the things she does for me every day, I guess I shouldn’t complain.
…Oh! Nana is staring at me!
”Rumi, could you step back just a little~?”
”…? Why?”
”Uh, um, so what kind of training are Rumi and Nana doing? I’d love to join you!”
”We’re practicing healing magic. Nanna wants to be able to heal someone in the family if they get hurt.”
(Kuh! As expected of my angel (sister)! I need to cut my arm to help with the training!)
I made up my mind and quickly approached Nana to talk to her.
”Hey, Nana! You’re really working hard! …I heard you’re practicing healing magic? If it’s okay, could you heal my hand?”
”…Okay.”
Nana nodded, a bit hesitant but agreed.
”That’s the spirit!”
I silently cheered in my heart and got Nana ready to use magic.

I cut off my pinky finger.
(Huh… Last time I cut off my wrist and made Rumi cry. I won’t make the same mistake again!)
…But then, Nana stared at me with wide eyes and started crying like it was a scream.
”…Sob… Sob… Waaaaaaa!”
(Oh no! Was cutting it off the problem in the first place? …I got used to it because I can easily heal with my ability…)
”Rob? What are you doing?”
From behind me, Rumi, clearly angry, asked me in a low voice!
I froze in shock.
”Eek! N-No! …I was just thinking of having Nana heal a small injury!”
”…Rob, cutting off a finger is a really big injury, you know.”
Rumi looked at me with a pitying expression.
I can’t believe this! …How did it come to this…!
”Um… For now, you’re not allowed to get close to Nanna! I think she’ll get scared if you do.”
”…N-No way… Nana! It’s okay for me to get close, right?!”
I ignored Rumi’s words and approached Nana, calling out to her.
”Eek!”
…She didn’t cry, but I ended up seeing Nana clearly scared of me.
That day, I experienced the joy of breaking through the limits of my Magic Power and the deep sadness of being feared by Nana.
