”Ahem… If it’s Sir Izana, he is currently fighting the Demon King army outside this town. Mrs. Emma is also participating in that battle. If you head to the area where the fighting is the fiercest, you should find them quickly… um, it’s really dangerous, so please be careful.”
The big sister looked at me with a slightly worried expression and spoke gently.
”Thank you! Well then, I’m off!”
”Yes! Take care!”
After leaving the guild, we ran towards the gate.
[Looks like there’s no time to train slowly in the dungeon?]

Once we were outside the town, I activated ‘Magic Detection’ and headed to the battlefield.
In front of us was a scene like hell.
The battlefield looked just like a nightmare.
Flames and smoke rose up, and amidst the screams and roars, countless soldiers and adventurers were fighting desperately.
Their appearance was brave, yet they showed signs of fatigue.
”Push them back! For our kingdom!”
A roar echoed, and the adventurers unleashed their swords and magic one after another.
Shadows of the demon race flew around them, and the weapons they wielded glowed as they swung powerfully.
The sound of arrows echoed, and beams of magic targeted the enemies, telling the story of an intense battle.
”The demons is coming at us!”
The soldier’s voice rang out, and the morale of the troops behind him rose.
The efforts of their comrades seemed to support them and give them even more courage.
[That warrior is so cool!]
(Certainly… everyone is really doing their best. My dad and the others must be in a dangerous situation too.)
We hurried forward.
While observing the battlefield, we decided to take down the demon race at the edge of the crowd.
”Alright, let’s try that demon!”
[Yeah! …Wait, are they scared?]
In front of us, a few small demon race were trying to escape the battlefield, looking frightened.
Seeing this as a chance, I quickly moved.
(First, let’s take care of these guys!)
[Rob, be careful!]
I dashed like the wind and attacked the small demon.
I unleashed a powerful strike wrapped in Magic Power!
”Whoa!!!”
The demon was surprised and tried to defend against my attack, but their efforts were in vain, and in the next moment, they were blown away.
[…I feel a bit sorry for them.]
”Ah, well… if we let them escape, someone else might get attacked somewhere, so we can’t just let them go.”
We continued to take down the demon race, facing the enemies that kept coming at us.
Even as the smell of fierce battle filled the air, my heart resonated with the efforts of the soldiers and adventurers around me.
And then, suddenly appearing in the middle of it all was my dad, standing like a figure in the battlefield.
Dad had… lost his right arm…
(No way!? The dad I couldn’t even land a hit on has been attacked!?)

(…Was it the weakest Demon King, Rozel Nightshade? …The Demon King coming out of the castle is different from the game…)
Dad was somehow dodging and blocking Rozel’s attacks with one arm.
And I could see Mom Emma a little behind Dad.
Mom was supporting Dad with healing magic while occasionally attacking the Demon King with the super high-difficulty ‘Rainbow Attribute’ magic that I had given up on learning.
(Rumi, lend me ‘Swift Wind Lightning’!)
[Okay! Do your best, Rob!]
I activated ‘Swift Wind Lightning’ and cut down the surrounding demon race as I moved to get behind Rozel.
Then, I unleashed a holy attribute slash toward Rozel!

Rozel reacted to my sudden attack and blocked it, but it seemed he couldn’t fully defend against the slash Dad had set up.
──Slash!
Rozel’s arm was sliced off, and he staggered back.
I used ‘Thought Sharing’ and started talking to Dad while fighting the surrounding demon race.
(Dad, it’s been a while. It’s Rob… Sorry for worrying you.)
(Rob!? You finally came back!)
(Yeah, I’m back. I made it so Dad can use ‘Body Super Regeneration’ too, so you can fix your missing arm.)
(Oh, I got it… That helps!)
(Also, I want you to leave the Demon King to me. …If it’s too tough alone, I’ll help out.)
(…It’s unbelievably strong, you know?)
(I’ve seen a bit of the fight, so I understand. …Looks like the Demon King has also fixed his arm. Alright, let’s do this!)
I jumped into the air using wind magic and then activated ‘Time Boost’ from Space-Time Magic Eighth Rank, launching a series of holy attribute slashes at Rozel!

Rozel seemed to easily dodge or deflect all the slashes.
(I tried to copy Ms. Lunaria’s technique from the Martial Tournament, but I still can’t shoot like a skill.)
[Ah, ‘Thunder Barrier’!]
──KA-BOOM!
Rozel fired back with magic, but Rumi blocked it for me.
I landed on the ground and decided to go for close combat this time.
──Clank!!
Rozel and I started a conversation while we were locked in a blade clash.
”Holy Sword… ‘Hero’, huh? It’s rare for someone to challenge me alone.”
”Too bad. I’m the ‘Link Master’! I’m going to take you down here.”
”Hehe… Give it a try!”
I switched my grip on the [Dawn Sword] from 2 hands to one, wrapping my free hand in holy attribute and punching hard.
──Boom!!
Rozel did the same, and our fists collided fiercely, creating a shockwave that pushed us apart.
[Rob, are you okay? I can shoot magic while you attack!]
(Hmm… that’s true. The damage from attributes other than holy is just a drop in the bucket… so protect me when my defense can’t keep up.)
[Got it! Be careful!]
(Ah, I’m finally getting used to my current status, so I think I can have some fun!)
I activated ‘Swift Wind Lightning’ and ‘Time Boost,’ charging straight at Rozel!
──Boom!!
”What… who are you?”
Surprised, Rozel’s eyes widened.
”You’re a perfect practice partner, so let’s have some fun for a while!”
I grinned, wrapping my whole body in Magic Power and fighting spirit, and started launching a series of quick strikes at Rozel.
Zing! Zing-zing-zing! Zing-zing-zing-ZIP! ──THWACK!!
”Ugh…”
My slashes and kicks hit Rozel, throwing him off balance.
──SWISH!
Just like that, I sliced off one of Rozel’s arms and was about to cut off his head when──
[‘Thunder Barrier’!!]
──Bashin!
Dark magic shot from Rozel’s severed arm towards me, but Rumi blocked it.
──KA-BOOM!
I also succeeded in decapitating Rozel.
However, as long as the Demon King core remains in his body, Rozel isn’t dead yet.
The reason the ‘Hero’ has lost so far is likely because they became overconfident, thinking they could win here.
I activated 2 ‘Time Boosts,’ increasing my sword speed even more while searching for the Demon King core, slicing Rozel’s body into pieces.

This time, it seemed like the head that was cut off shot out magic.
Finally, I found a small Demon King core glowing red and black.
”Stop it!! What are you going to do with that!!”
”Huh? What am I going to do? Like this!”
I grabbed Rozel’s Demon King core with my hand wrapped in holy attribute and pressed it against my [Dawn Sword], which was also covered in holy attribute.
Rumi also wrapped her holy attribute around the [Dawn Sword], and the sword began to shine with a divine white light.
──Hummmm
”Ah, aaaaahh…”
Dark magic continued to shoot at me from the severed parts of Rozel’s body, but it gradually weakened, and eventually… the attack completely stopped when the Demon King core disappeared.
”Haah… Demon King Rozel Nightshade, defeated.”
Even though I had the unique ability ‘Fatigue Immunity,’ I still felt a bit tired. It was a tough opponent to take down.

With that, Rumi and I were able to achieve a glorious victory in our first battle against a Demon King.
