 ”What is this place?”

 I stopped in front of a suspicious shop in Shirogane Kingdom.

 What? Card Shop Emily!? Ugh, Emily-senpai is up to something again…

 When I opened the shop door and stepped inside, I heard a familiar voice.

 ”Hey! Why is it always Kaede’s banana!? It’s been nothing but this since earlier!!”

 That voice is definitely Kohina-san’s.

 ”Yay! Cheerful Kanon (Urara Kanon) is here! We can win now!!”

 What is Cheerful Kanon!? And that voice, it’s definitely Aqua, right?

 Seriously, what are those 2 doing in such a shady shop…?

 As I walked toward the voice, Emily-senpai turned to look at me.

 ”Oh, Kanon. You came too. And Pegonia-san, hello!”

 ”Why are you asking if I came? Emily-senpai, what is this place?”

 I looked around the room.

 Now that I noticed, there were a few familiar faces, or rather, only familiar faces.

 When I looked at the card, I saw a picture of myself with a goofy face, typing on the keyboard while staring at the glowing computer monitor in a pitch-black room.

 Ugh! What part of this is supposed to be the top-rated rare card?!

 And also, Aqua pulled Cheerful Kanon? Don’t I have too many cards?!

 ”Yay! The elegant Kanon is here!”

 Wait! Are there more?!

 I could see Aqua doing a victory pose in the distance, and next to her, Kohina-san was stomping her feet while looking at a card with a drawing of a banana.

 ”I want to open mine too!”

 When I opened the starter pack box, it had a basic pre-built card deck, a mat and item kit for the game, a guide on how to play, and 3 types of card packs.

 Everyone was opening the card packs that came with it….

 I looked down at the 3 types of card packs.

 The Expansion Booster Pack, Beryl All-Stars, only has cards of people belonging to Beryl.

 That’s pretty nice, right? It means there are no extra cards in it.

 The second Expansion Strengthening Pack, Prince Shirogane, guarantees at least one Aqua card.

 Hmm, I think that’s also quite nice. If it’s guaranteed to be Aqua, I’d be happy even if I get duplicates, and it seems easier to trade.

 The last Ultimate Pack is completely random luck, but the chance of getting a rare card is higher than usual packs.

 I think that’s good too.

 ”At first, I was thinking of going with the Beryl All-Stars.”

 Ugh! I finally drew a new card, but it made me feel really weird.

 I mean, both this one and the last one are just basic cards from the starter pack, so they totally overlap!!

 I made a face again and drew the 4th card.

 [Ultimate Rare / Snow White Princess, Yukishiro Emily: Health 721, Attack 1000, Defense 0. Can take out almost all cards in one hit, but has no defense for her health, so she goes down in one hit. Also, it’s a bit annoying that she always has 1 health left.]

 I’m not really sure if this card is strong or not.

 I mean, having only 10 health recovery with a banana for 721 health is totally a joke card.

 I shake off my thoughts and keep drawing cards one after another.

 [Super Rare / Voice Training: The attack power of singer cards you have on the field is 1.5 times for the next turn.]

 [Ultimate Rare / Skilled Manager, Kirika Kotono: The attack and defense of BERYL members you have on the field are 9.2 times for the next turn. However, the health, attack, and defense of Morikawa Kaede and Yukishiro Emily cards are halved, regardless of ally or enemy.]

 Isn’t Nee-san’s card too strong? It’s totally a balance breaker.

 But if I use this, I guess I can’t include Kaede-senpai and Emily-senpai’s cards in my deck.

 [Hyper Rare / Princess of the Messy Room, Lazuli Hauyne Noselite: Health 100, Attack 300, Defense 1. Always fighting with listeners. Attack power is decent, but there’s no health or defense. Also, the room is messy. After being on the field for 2 turns, attack power doubles.]

 Isn’t there a lot of cards with no defense, like Lazu-sama and Emily-senpai? Is that normal?

 Also, I thought there were 10 cards in a pack, but there are 11.

 Wait, there’s still one card left.

 ”See, when you do a 10-pull in gacha, there’s usually an extra 11th card, right? It’s the same thing.”

 Hmm. Compared to the recent gacha scams, Emily-senpai is way more honest.

 I confidently flip over the last card.

 It’s slightly different. And it’s kind of strong…

 But I feel like I really pulled a dud.

 I shake it off and open the next expansion pack, Prince Shirogane.

 So this is just ridiculous!!

 I slam the card down on the table.

 ”Miss, it might be bad for the baby.”

 ”Customers, please don’t slam the cards on the table too much. Oh, if you want to play Menko (メンコ) with Morikawa Kaede’s Banana card, please go to that table over there.”

 When I look at the table Emily-senpai pointed to, I see Maron-san and Iria-san completely focused on playing Menko.

 Both of them look far from being top idols, so I decide to ignore it.

 I blankly flip over the next card.

 [Normal Rare / Wild Kohina Yukari: Both teams that are tangled up take a break. Also, regardless of friend or foe, Shirogane Aqua’s card is removed from play.]

 [Normal Rare / Wild Morikawa Kaede: All cards on the field are pushed out with power. However, this affects both friend and foe.]

 Hmm, the effects are hard to describe.

 It has both buffs and debuffs, but if used properly, it seems pretty strong.

 [Super Rare / Hoge-lar Wave: Due to the Hoge-lar Wave, everything starts over from the beginning. However, it can only be used once per card. In a restart match, you start with the number of cards minus that card.]

 This is also a bad first draw. When I first had this, I thought it might be okay, but when I’m in a strong position, it just becomes a useless card.

 [Ultra Rare / Captive Fairy, Sayamu Inko: Health 800, Attack 500, Defense 100. A princess of the fairy tribe who is confined in the Holospray headquarters. She has the toughness to survive a one-hit kill attack, but in that case, she can’t act for one turn and her health gauge will only have half left.]

 [Hyper Rare / Otome (Crap) Game: Female characters are forced to be unable to act for one turn. It also nullifies the endurance of the opponent’s Sayamu Inko and forces their health to drop to 1. On the other hand, it fully restores the health of your own Sayamu Inko and revives the used endurance effect, increasing attack and defense by 1.5 times.]

 I feel like these two cards are pretty strong.

 The fact that the deck is complete with just these two cards is a big deal.

 [Hyper Rare / Otome Game: The real otome game. It can fully restore the health of female characters. There is a similar official knockoff card with a similar name, but this one is the real deal. However, you can only include either the Crap Game or the Otome Game in the same deck, not both.]

 Well, it’s confusing…

 This one is powerful too, but the otome game that focuses on Inko-san that I just drew is also good, so it’s hard to choose between them.

 If it’s in an Inko-san environment, I’d go with the first one, but if not, I think this one is more versatile.

 [Ultimate Rare / Power Type Announcer, Morikawa Kaede: Health 1000, Attack 1000, Defense 500. It’s the strongest card, but it can’t act without a Banana Card. Also, on the 3rd turn, the Hoge-lar Wave will automatically hit and remove it from the field. Plus, when Kirika Kotono and Onidzuka Kyoko’s cards are on the field, all stats are halved, and the card cannot act during the turn it’s shown.]

 So strong. It’s powerful, but if you have a strategy, it’s totally done for.

 If the Hoge-lar Wave comes on the 3rd turn, I can just make it rest once with Nee-san and Announcer Onidzuka’s cards. If I play one of them, with 500 health and 250 defense, if I have over 750 attack power, I can take it out in one hit.

 Thinking about it like that, it’s pretty weak…

 I wonder. After drawing that last card, I feel some romance with this card too.

 But romantic builds and theoretical builds never really work, you know? I know that well.

 [Platinum Beryl Rare / Platinum Prince, Shirogane Aqua: Health 1000, Attack 1000, Defense 100. A powerful card, but it can only be summoned if Shirogane Kanon is in your team. Also, it’s one of the top-rated cards alongside Blue Eyes White Dress Kanon. If you have these two in your team, the promised maiden’s great victory activates, guaranteeing an unconditional win. Its power is so strong that it can even destroy great nations.]

 ”Yayyyyyyyyy!”

 I stand up and raise both my hands.

 If Aqua wasn’t here, I might have shouted “Shumi-chan, great victory!”

 At this point, I really want the Blue-Eyes White Dress Kanon card that my big sister has.

 ”Congratulations, Miss.”

 ”Thank you, Pegonia.”

 Hehehe, I’m going to build my deck around this card.

 I set the card aside and open the last pack, the Ultimate Pack, with Shirogane Aqua and fun friends.

 [Ultimate Rare / The Lone Great Actress (Bocchi the Star), Kohina Yukari: Health 500, Attack 800, Defense 300. This is a powerful card with balanced stats, but if there are allies other than Shirogane Aqua, Atori Ako, and Tsukimachi Ayana from the Nightmare Generation on your side, all ability values drop by 100 for each ally. If you are the only one on the field, all ability values increase by 100, and if the number of your character cards in play is less than your opponent’s, you get an additional 100. The theoretical maximum values are: Health 700, Attack 1000, Defense 500.]

 [Ultra Rare / Senpai: A special card that can only be used with senior character cards like Kohina Yukari, Tenga Akira, Jou Maron, and Onidzuka Kyoko. If you have Kohina Yukari, you can protect against instant death attacks aimed at junior character cards from Shirogane Aqua and Tsukimachi Ayana. If you have Tenga Akira, you can protect against attacks aimed at Shirogane Aqua, Mayuzumi Shintaro, Nekoyama Toa, Yamada Maruo, Kokuchō Kujaku, Akami Hajime, and Jou Maron against Tsukimachi Ayana and Kurushima Fran. If you have Onidzuka Kyoko, you can protect against attacks aimed at Morikawa Kaede.]

 Alright, these two cards are going straight into my Platinum Prince deck.

 Also, if I have the Announcer Onidzuka card, the Kaede-senpai deck could be pretty strong.

 [Ultra Rare / Nightmare Generation: Kohina Yukari, Morikawa Kaede, Jou Maron, Kato Iria, Sayamu Inko’s character card can double their ability values for one turn. The opponent takes a turn off. However, this can only be used if at least 2 members of the Nightmare Generation are on your side.]

 So strong. The synergy with Kohina-san’s card isn’t bad either, so I think I can keep this in my deck.

 Plus, if I can team up with the Nightmare Generation, it might be a good idea to include Kaede-senpai’s card too.

 [Hyper Rare / Maternal Lady, Shirogane Kanon: Also known as Elegant Kanon. When Kanon becomes a woman and a mother, Shirogane Aqua and Yukishiro Emily’s health points are fully restored. If their health is already maxed, they gain a resilience effect.]

 Ah, so this is what Aqua drew.

 It’s a bit weird since it’s my own illustration, but the art is beautiful, and I think it’s a good card.

 [Hyper Rare / Flower High School Girl, Shirogane Kanon: Also known as Flower Kanon. When Shirogane Aqua and Yukishiro Emily see Kanon in her uniform, their attack power doubles. Also, their health points are fully restored.]

 Hmm…

 Drawing my own card feels a bit strange.

 But the card I really want isn’t this one.

 [Ultimate Rare / Blue-Eyes White Dress Emily: Health 100, Attack 0, Defense 0. A fake card of a certain card that only exists in 3 copies in the world. It’s just me in a pure white dress. It’s a rare card, so it sparkles, but it’s weaker than a normal card. However, if either Platinum Prince, Shirogane Aqua, or Blue-Eyes White Dress Kanon is on the opponent’s field, it can forcefully NTR and remove itself from play.]

 It’s Excaliper!!

 I have to say it again because it’s important, but I thought it was Excalibur, and it’s Excaliper!!

 Plus, this card is kind of strong. It’s totally a counter card for the Platinum Prince deck.

 ”Hehe, did you draw that? Actually, that card is pretty rare too.”

 Oh, really?

 I squint my eyes as I flip the last card.

 Please! Come!!

 [Platinum Ultimate Rare / Blue-Eyes White Dress Kanon: Health 300, Attack 0, Defense 1000. A rare Kanon with maximum defense in a pure white dress. Shirogane Aqua, Yukishiro Emily, Pegonia, and Victoria Stars Goshenite cannot attack this card at all. It’s one of the highest-rated cards alongside Platinum Prince and Shirogane Aqua, and if you have these two in your field, the promised maiden’s great victory activates, guaranteeing an unconditional win. Its power is so strong that it can even destroy great nations. Note that there are only 3 of these in the world.]

 Before I could celebrate, everyone around me raised their hands in joy.
