The month has changed, and it should be autumn, but the heat still lingers.
Even an hour before, I haven’t received any cancellation notice. That said, I can’t let my guard down even 5 minutes before our meeting time.
Meeting Risa-san is tough, and I’ve learned to expect sudden changes in plans over the past month. I can’t deny that I feel a bit tossed around.
But if we can meet today, it will all be over.
I planned to arrive early and wait at the meeting spot, but even 30 minutes before our scheduled time, Risa-san was already there. I hurriedly ran over.
”I’m sorry to keep you waiting.”
”No, it’s just that I arrived early.”
Risa-san smiles like that… Maybe it’s because of her fluffy top, but she looks a bit chubbier than I remember. I thought she might look worn out since she seems so busy, but she looks healthy.
Since we won’t be out late, we quickly move to our destination.
I chose a karaoke place that Risa-san is interested in, and it’s a spot where she can be called back to work suddenly without any issues──so I decided to take Risa-san to karaoke.
She should be able to sing a lot of her favorite songs that she usually can’t. I also picked a restaurant known for its good food, so we can stay for a while.
”……”
Risa-san, who was excited before entering the store, suddenly goes quiet with a serious expression. It should be a normal place… right? Is something wrong?
”Risa-san?”
When I call her, she looks up at me, startled.
”No, it’s nothing. Let’s go in!”
”Well, if there’s something about this place, we can go somewhere else…”
”N-no! That’s not it! I’m looking forward to singing my favorite songs, but, um… after we finish singing, I was thinking of asking you for a favor…”
A favor? If that’s the case, couldn’t she just ask me now before we go in?
”Then, it’s fine if you ask me first, right?”
”No, no, no! That’s too much! Let’s do it later. Come on, let’s go!”
She shakes her head vigorously and waves her hands. Pushed by Risa-san’s over-the-top reaction, I entered the karaoke place. What could this favor be?
