Volume 2 Chapter 1 Too Busy To Meet My Girlfriend
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
As expected, the moment Risa-san found out I was 18, she stubbornly refused to let me pay for the hotel. I had been avoiding telling her my age, but now it was too late.
If I start dating Risa-san, things will probably be like this all the time.
However, there’s a more serious problem. I can hardly meet Risa-san.
In this situation, trying to make her feel like she can’t live without me and then dumping her seems impossible. I’m worried about the future.
Right now, I still have some free time, but soon job hunting will start for real. Considering the time I need for school and my part-time job, it will be tough to find time like before.
If I can easily get a job, it won’t be a problem, but my grades aren’t that great, and I haven’t been attending classes seriously, so it might be difficult. Should I just give up on job hunting?
At the very least, if I keep my current part-time job, I can manage to live with my parents’ inheritance.
”…”
This is bad. I wonder if I really have the determination to go that far for revenge. If I had a good chance of winning, I wouldn’t hesitate.
More than anything, I don’t want to say that I chose my path just to please a girl when someone asks me why.
Back home, I sat in front of my unfinished resume, thinking, “What should I do now?” My hand, which was writing neatly with a pen, stopped. I couldn’t concentrate because I was thinking about unnecessary things, and I wasn’t making any progress. This is no good.
When I’m not in the mood, I often make unexpected mistakes. I left my partially written resume on the desk and flopped onto my bed.
──Then, at that moment
I heard the landlady’s voice from outside, “Shuu-kun, I’m sorry for bothering you at night.” I slowly got up, went to the entrance where there wasn’t even enough space for 3 pairs of shoes, and opened the door.
”I’ve been having a hard time getting in touch with your family, Shuu-kun. So, I need to tell you about the contract renewal.”
”Oh, I’m sorry. They are currently on a business trip abroad, so they aren’t home. I’ll let them know.”
Is it already that time? The acceptance results for the high school I attend were in January. So, I looked for an apartment early and signed the contract in January.
Then, to practice living alone, I started moving in the things I needed and began living in this room.
”Oh, is that so? Your job must be tough. Well, please let them know. Since it’s the time for contract renewals, I should get a response in 2 weeks, but this year might be busy with job hunting and exams, so could you tell them it’s okay to respond after you decide your path?”
”Yes, I understand.”
After the landlady said what she needed to say, she left with a “Good luck.” Their contact information goes to voicemail, so they should be able to leave a message about this. But… well, it’s fine. I’ll just send an email.
Anyway, there won’t be a contract renewal. I’ve decided not to continue my studies, and I heard that if I can get a job, I could use a company dormitory with lower rent than this place.
”…That’s right.”
”I’m not lying when I say I’m not renewing the contract.” I’m leaving this cheap apartment room next March. If it’s just for a limited time, maybe it won’t be so hard to find a place?
I sent a message to Risa-san saying, “I might not have a place to stay until March. Can I crash at your place?” and started organizing my stuff for the move.
