Chapter 567 Deep Floor’s Safety Zone

I walk down a wide, straight corridor.
Along the way, we encounter a group of Girtablulus and Greater Demons, but we take them down without a scratch.
Annihilation.
Smooth sailing so far.
”The corridors and halls are so big… seems like we’re almost done with the two0th floor.”
Ahead of us, the scout Martina moves forward cautiously.
”It’s a good time, so I hope we can find a space for a night camp or a Safety Zone.”
Liz, behind me, calls out to Martina who’s leading the way.
”Yeah, I think there’s probably a Safety Zone…”
Martina replies and seems to notice something, then hurries ahead a bit.

”I mean… the timing was pretty good, wasn’t it?”
Liz sits down on one of the beds prepared in the Safety Zone.
Right after that conversation, Martina, who dashed ahead, quickly found the Safety Zone.
”We’re probably near the Floor Boss area too, so it’s nice to be able to rest here for the night.”
Asuka starts to take off her armor piece by piece, and everyone else follows suit, removing their equipment.
I too take off Yamikirimaru and God-Slayer from my waist and place them on the bed.
I tried using God-Slayer in the encounter, and the cutting feel isn’t bad.
It’s no match for the already awakened Yamikirimaru, though.
But for me right now… it’s a bit too heavy to wield comfortably.
It’s a regular-sized tachi, after all.
I guess I’ve just gotten used to the Ōwakizashi, Yamikirimaru.
”Well, it’s just the right size for an adult like you, isn’t it?”
Before I know it, Lilith has sat down on my bed, gazing at God-Slayer.
”So, what’s up? Is the God-Slayer going to awaken too?”
Kazumi peered at the God-Slayer from behind me.
”I’ve been regularly channeling magical power into it, but…it doesn’t seem to be enough yet.”
”In my case, I didn’t intentionally receive magical power from my master, but──it still took quite a while for me to awaken.”
Lilith picked up the God-Slayer and lovingly stroked it.
”Frejya was a docile girl. She’s not as strong-willed as Lilith.”
Rena whispered so only we could hear, glancing at Lilith with a teasing look.
”Ugh…y-yeah, I can’t deny that…”
Lilith looked at Rena, clearly frustrated.
Seeing Lilith like that, Rena smiled with satisfaction.
”But…that’s why I want her to awaken soon.”
”Yes. Because Frejya is like that, she will be confused until she understands the current situation…”
The two of them agreed on that point.

The Safety Zone got bigger the deeper we went into the Deep Floor.
This Safety Zone on the two0th floor was the largest yet, with ten beds along each wall, for a total of 20.
There was also a large table in the middle with chairs for 20 people.
There was even a water source, toilets, and a shower space on the wall opposite the entrance.
It was truly luxurious.
”It’s been getting bigger since we passed the Tenth Floor, but…”
”Yeah, it used to be big enough for 10 to 15 people to rest.”
”But this size…and a shower too? This is a first!”
Aluda, Meluda, and Simona took off their equipment, and in their underwear, they looked around the room in amazement.
”Oh…there are even curtains for each bed?”
Asuka went ZZZZIP!
and drew the curtain around my bed.
Hmm.
It felt like a large hospital room.
──ZZZZZIP!
Asuka drew the curtain again and appeared.
”Fufu…I can come visit you at night after everyone is asleep, you know?”
”No, you’re not, okay?”

Noo, Kazumi, Rena, and Asuka prepared the meal, and we all had dinner together.
”I never thought we’d be able to sit down and eat together like this during our dungeon delve,”
”The deeper you go, the better the Safety Zone gets. This Great Labyrinth is truly worth exploring.”
”The kitchen was really well-equipped, making cooking a breeze!”
Kazumi, Rena, and Noo finished setting the table and took their seats.
”Hey… I brought this along,♡”
Simona placed a bottle on the table right at that moment.
”Oh, you! That’s wine!”
”For those who can drink… everyone gets a glass, right?”
”A little alcohol can be good for a comfortable sleep, you know.”
”I want some! I want some!♡”
”I desire it too,♡”
Liz, Dorothy, Asuka, Aluda, Meluda, and Lilith’s eyes sparkled.
”Where on earth did you hide it?”
Kazumi muttered in disbelief.
”Yeah… I didn’t say not to bring it…”
”Big Sis Kazumi made some tea, so that’s good enough,♡”
Rena and Martina simultaneously took sips of tea.
”The wine drinkers can have their fun, we’ll just have this,♡”
As the wine lovers poured each other glasses, we all started to eat.
Wow, being able to eat such delicious food in the Great Labyrinth… it’s truly a blessing.

After dinner, we decided to take turns showering.
In between, we spent time discussing tomorrow’s exploration and checking our equipment until bedtime.
It feels like we’re back in our usual Clan house.
”I think we’re the only ones on this floor, but just in case another party shows up, we should take turns keeping watch.”
Right.
Apparently, since anyone can enter the dungeon, there have been some conflicts between adventurers in the Safety Zone.
It’s best to be cautious.
”Adventurers flock to the Great Labyrinth from all over… and that means more of those damn idiots are showing up…”
”Ah, they really do say, ‘The truly dangerous ones are humans.’”
”I heard something like this from the members of Rose Hip…”
As Liz and Asuka lamented the quality of adventurers tackling the Great Labyrinth lately, Simona began to speak.
”Apparently, it’s not like that beyond the Tenth Floor… but back when we were exploring the shallower levels, we almost got attacked a few times by adventurers who stumbled into the Safety Zone.”
”Is that… okay?”
Martina asked anxiously, her concern evident in her voice.
”Well, the Rose Hip crew never falls behind those adventurers wandering around the shallow levels. We turned the tables on them, you know.”
Simona said this with a hearty laugh.
”But… there are probably other issues too…”
Liz sighed heavily.
”Yeah… if they’re inexperienced adventurers, they might just end up crying themselves to sleep.”
Asuka, sitting on the bed with her unnamed katana cradled in her arms, spat the words out in frustration.
After taking a shower, most of us, including her, were only in our underwear.
”The fact that the Safety Zone has become a place where we can’t even let our guard down… it’s just awful.”
”Men who let their lust run wild and attack women… they should just perish. Yes, when I come back to life…”
Kazumi muttered bitterly, while Lilith added something even darker.
I couldn’t say I didn’t understand how they felt, though.
And of course, they were all in their underwear.
I was having a hard time figuring out where I was supposed to look.
”Well, I’ll take first watch, so everyone else can sleep soundly, okay?”
Simona, wearing only her underwear, sat on a chair with her greatsword resting across her knees.
”Then I’ll take the next shift. Just wake me when it’s my turn.”
We settled the watch order: Simona → me → Dorothy → Asuka.
With that decided, everyone crawled into bed, getting ready for tomorrow.
