Sounds like a good idea, actually.
I beckon a nearby staff member over.
”Hey, it’s okay to splurge when buying souvenirs, right? Lend me your wallet.”
”Ah, yes.”
Aqua and I stop by a department store near the station on our way back.
We order some Nagano and Yamanashi fruits from the basement and have them delivered to Shirogane Kingdom.
”Kohina-senpai, thank you for getting enough for everyone, not just the wives!”
”No problem, I’ll be eating them later anyway.”
Besides, living there, I don’t need to pay rent, utilities, communication, transportation, food, or consumables, so money just keeps piling up.
So, I used my card and bought a whole bunch!
”W-wow…”
”She spent about 10 million yen all by herself.”
”The sales staff and manager came rushing down, LOL.”
”As expected of a top actress, her spending is on another level.”
”Including the staff at Shirogane Kingdom, I guess it adds up to that much?”
”It’s great that she’s buying for the staff too!”
”Ugh! Kohina Yukari’s likeability is going up! I have to make her do something stupid to bring it down!!”

”Kohina-senpai, we should get back to the bus soon.”
”Right. If we miss it, we’ll have to wait until night, so let’s hurry!”
I return the wallet to the staff member and head to the bus stop.
It’s been years since I’ve been on an express bus.
I remembered when I was a kid, gathering all my money and running away from home, taking a late-night bus from Kyoto to Tokyo all by myself.
”Kohina-senpai, are you alright?”
Aqua peers into my face with a worried expression as I pause in front of the bus.
”It’s nothing. Just remembered the past a bit. Come on, let’s get on board.”
I give Aqua a push and we climb aboard the express bus to Hida Takayama.
It’s about a 2 and a half hours ride from here, right?
We’ll grab lunch after we arrive since we got a late start this morning.
For now, we should rest… Hey, what are you doing!?
Before I know it, Aqua has stepped forward and is gripping the microphone.
”Ladies and gentlemen aboard the bus from Matsumoto heading to Hida Takayama, I’ll be your tour guide, BERYL’s Shirogane Aqua.”

What do you think you’re doing!?
When you got up this morning, your eyes were sparkling, and you didn’t get much sleep last night, did you?
Then you should behave and get some rest at times like this!!
You don’t have to pull out some weird entertainment power like Emily-chan, you know!
”Eeek!!”
”Aqua-samaaaaa!”
”Did I just use up all my lifetime’s worth of luck right here?”
”It seems like I saved the world 3 times in my past life.”
”I’m so happy I didn’t win the national tour lottery!”
Hey, why is everyone glancing over here!?
Ah, fine, I get it!
I guess I should step up too!
I step forward and take the microphone from Aqua.
”You can’t be a tour guide in a place you’re visiting for the first time, right!”
”That’s where spirit and power come in, as Kaede would say…”
”And don’t take advice from that adult, it’s the most unhelpful!”
A burst of laughter greets my retort.
With the microphone in hand, I scan the faces of the people seated.
”On the contrary, I want to ask all of you. Hey, what are you guys planning to do in Hida Takayama?”
I turn the microphone to each person one by one.
”Oh, sorry. I’m just going back home.”
Ah, I see, there’s definitely that kind of pattern too.
I turn the microphone to the person seated on the opposite side.
”I’m thinking of going to the upper town and lower town.”
Hmm, I see.
The old town and street layouts are preserved.
It might be a good spot for taking photos.
I continue to turn the microphone to others.
”I plan to visit the shrine and then do a power spot tour on the side!”
”I’m thinking about going to see the limestone caves.”
”I was invited by a friend over there to go to a place where we can eat Hida beef.”
”I hear we can ride our bikes along the abandoned railway, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
I see.
It seems like there are quite a few places to go.
”By the way, I had Hida beef with Ako-san the other day in Akasaka.”
”Oh, they wrap the Hida beef around matsutake mushrooms… wait a minute! I just found that out!?”
So you went out to eat just the two of you, leaving me behind!?
Plus, that place is where I often take you and Ayana-chan, right!?
”Hmmm, so that’s how it is…”
”Oh, no, um. I’m sorry. I forgot to let you know when I was going…”
Aqua looks a bit awkward.
I saw that and couldn’t help but smile.
”It’s fine, I’m not mad.”
”Really!?”
Knowing you, you probably kept it a secret because if you told me, I would end up paying, right?
I can see through that much.
What surprised me was that Akocchi went out to eat just the two of them with Aqua, which is rare.
Akocchi, being the boss, tends to keep a distance because he likes this girl.
So whether it was for work or just a casual meal, I thought it was a good thing for them to eat together.
”Hey, Aqua. Akocchi tends to overdo it, so make sure to invite her out to eat sometimes. She wouldn’t refuse an invitation from you, and I think she would relax more with just the two of you.”
”Got it! Leave it to me!!”
Sigh… I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m pretty capable.
Akocchi better appreciate how I’m subtly supporting her!
”By the way, don’t bus guides sing? You should sing something too!”
My comment makes the bus erupt with excitement.
”Well then, can I take you up on that and sing a couple of songs!?”
Sounds good, right?
I’m sure everyone would love your singing.
”Since we’re at it, let’s have Kohina-senpai sing along too!”
”There’s no helping it. Well then, let’s go with a duet between you and Ayana-chan.”
”Yay!”
Honestly, when you’re that straightforward with your joy, it leaves me speechless.
While Aqua and I were singing and chatting, 2 and a half hours flew by in the blink of an eye.
”No way… right?”
”Is it over already?”
”It was so dense that it felt like a moment…”
”I have a great keepsake now. Thank you.”
”Driver, you really did a great job getting us here without any accidents. I would have been distracted. You’re amazing.”
”I’m really glad I took this bus today.”
Phew, I’m tired.
But, it seems like everyone is happy, so this isn’t too bad once in a while.
”Come on, Aqua, we’re getting off now! We’re hungry, let’s go grab some food!”
”U-ssu!”
I uploaded the photo from when the two of us were doing the bus tour together to social media and then we hit the town for lunch.
