”Hmm! Ah, I slept well.”
As I wake up, I stretch my arms and body.
I must have been more tired than I thought, as I fell asleep quickly, and waking up in the morning feels great.
”Oh, good morning!”

Ah, right!
There was only one futon, so I ended up sleeping with him.
I’m taken aback when I see Aqua with bloodshot eyes.
”What happened to your face!?”
”N-no, it’s nothing.”
No way, it definitely isn’t nothing！
Aqua crawled out of the futon hunched over and said he was going for a morning bath, heading off to the bathroom alone.
I hope he’s okay.
He was hunched over quite a bit; I hope he hasn’t got a stomach issue….
While Aqua was in the bath, I fiddled with my phone to check today’s plans again.
First things first, I need to take the train from Yamanashi to Nagano Prefecture.
The plan was to catch a highway bus from the station in Matsumoto City to Takayama in Gifu Prefecture.
For that, I need to take plenty of pictures and save up some money for travel and meals.
When I stepped outside, I greeted the grandma who was cleaning up.
”Good morning! It’s a lovely morning.”
”Good morning! Did you get a good night’s sleep?”
I smiled and replied, “Yes, very much so.”
”Are you ready for breakfast?”
”Ah, actually, I have a question about that…”
I asked the grandma if there was anything I could do nearby.
Unfortunately, my wallet was already empty.
Since hitchhiking is prohibited, we can’t move from here without doing something and taking pictures.
”Around here, the only thing you can do is fish at the Sasago River…”
”That’s it!”
I borrowed fishing gear from the grandma, thanked her, and headed back to our room.
When I got back, I found Aqua looking fresh and revived after his bath.
”How do you feel? Refreshed?”
”Yes, I feel quite refreshed!!”
I explained to Aqua that I had borrowed the fishing gear.
”I see! So we’re going to catch our own breakfast with the river fish!”
”Exactly. I heard you can catch sweetfish this season.”
We left the inn together, headed to the Sasago River, and started fishing.
Wait, what’s that hand doing?

You’re not the one fishing, I am!?
”Here, let me show you how it’s done.”

Aqua sidles up behind me and starts fishing with his own rod.
After a while of dangling the line, I felt a slight movement in the rod.

It seems I was moving the rod without even realizing it.
I narrow my eyes and focus on the spot where I dropped the line, waiting for a fish to bite.

Oh, I’m getting bored.
Can’t we just catch fish more easily than this?
”Hey, what’s so fun about fishing?”
”Kohina-senpai… could you stop spouting nonsense all of a sudden?”
”Because this is so boring with no fish biting!”

Aqua looks at me in astonishment.

What’s the big deal?!
”Kohina-senpai… telling the fish not to come at you – that’s something only you would say…”
”It’s fine, isn’t it? Now, help me out here, quick!”
With Aqua’s help, I catch my first fish ever.
”We did it, we did it!”

You should compliment me, I’m amazing, Kohina-senpai!!
Aqua stands next to me, showing off the fish with a proud look, and snaps a photo with a click.
Could she be planning to post that photo?

I only read Ayana-chan’s comment and ignore the rest, where Kaede and Inko write all sorts of unnecessary things.

How come you’re catching them left and right with no effort, while I barely managed to catch one?!
”This should be enough. Come on, Kohina-senpai, let’s take a picture together.”
…I wonder what it is.
I feel really defeated and it’s making me angry.
I glare at the bucket full of Aqua with a side-eye.

[Morikawa Kaede: Well, I think Yukari did a pretty good job for her first fishing trip.]
[Sayamu Inko: Exactly! Yukari did really well for a beginner!]

”Kohina-senpai, what are you doing? I’m starving, let’s head back quickly.”
”I know! Ugh, that’s just because your stride is too long! You need to go back to being 5 years old. I’ll carry you!!”

When I return to the lodge with Aqua, I thank Grandma and return the fishing gear.
While I’m at it, I borrow the kitchen and grill the sweetfish I caught on skewers.
”Wow, that looks delicious.”
”Hey, Kohina-senpai, let’s take a picture of us eating the sweetfish together. That’s why I grilled it over the hearth.”
Just like with the meat buns last time, these things surprisingly earn a lot of points.
Aqua and I take a picture with us each biting into the sweetfish skewers.

As I was giving my mobile device a side-eye, Aqua, who had just finished the dishes, called out to me.
”Kohina-senpai… Is something wrong?”
”Nothing at all. I just have nearly 20,000, so we can head straight to Takayama!”
I high-fived Aqua and started folding my futon to prepare to leave the inn.
”Thank you, Granny.”
”I appreciate everything.”
”You’re welcome! Please come back if you’re in the area~”
Aqua and I waved goodbye as we left the inn and walked to the station.
Once again, we boarded the train from the station and rushed past Kofu City all the way to Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture.
I know we should probably stop by some tourist spots, but if we’re heading to Takayama, we need to catch a bus by 1 PM.
”Hey, you’re coming to Nagano on your national tour, right? We should take a picture here while we can!”
”That’s true! Then, it looks like there’s a castle nearby, so let’s take a photo together!”
Aqua and I took advantage of the time before the bus arrived to snap a picture with the castle in the background.
[Huh? Did I possibly mix up the date for the national tour?]
