(Finally… we’ve done it…)
In the corridor of the 17th floor, our Gieze Team heard the announcement, ‘The Great Labyrinth Raetia has been conquered, and a new dungeon master declared.’
Everyone cheered with joy, tears streaming down their faces.
”Li, Li… Ms. Liz and the others… we, we, finally…”
Karina, clinging to me, was muttering through her tears.
”Ah… that’s right.”
My own voice was trembling.
I realized I was crying when I felt the tears on my cheeks.
”Now, we’re one step closer to our goal of rescuing Lord Hiroya’s brother, mother, and his brother’s lover.”
”So… what’s next, Gieze?”
Mr. Gorge, shoulder to shoulder with Noriss, was staring at me.
”Probably… the other Adventure Parties in the labyrinth will finish their exploration today and everyone will return to the surface.”
”Indeed. …The whole of Raetia will be in a festive mood.”
Eluda and Violet moved to the end of the corridor and sat down on a nearby rock.
”So──Romy, Gunilla, what’s left of the food supplies?”
”Plenty left over.”
”Ah, originally we were scheduled to explore until past noon tomorrow.”
The two porters, who were unloading their packs, Gunilla and Romy, gave a thumbs-up after checking Zack’s contents.
”Alright. ──Charlotte, how many golem magic cores are left?”
”Still… we can make 8 more.”
Charlotte, continuing, answered while peering into her hip pouch.
”Shall we… move on?”
Noriss peered in, checking out my reaction.
”Eh… w, w, we’re not all going to… c, c, celebrate with the Liz Team…?”
Karina, who had been crying with her face buried in her chest, looked up in surprise.
”Yeah…I’m planning to move forward…but is everyone else not?”
”…I knew Gieze would say that, man.”
When I looked around at everyone, everyone except Mr. Gorge, who was laughing, looked a little down in the dumps.
”I understand the feeling of wanting to celebrate the feat of conquering the Great Labyrinth… I, too, want to share the joy with everyone. But──”
Violet said this as if to persuade everyone, then stood up from the rock and continued, puffing out her small chest.
”Conquering the Great Labyrinth Raetia this time…is only the first step towards the ultimate goal. And…what is your goal? Isn’t it to challenge Hiroya and the others to the Welnia Labyrinth, liberate Lady Lilith…and destroy Azradelius?”
”Violet’s right.”
I agreed with Violet’s opinion and then followed her words.
”With our current abilities…we probably can’t keep up with Lord Hiroya and the others. But…that person won’t wait for us. Time is──”
As I told everyone…I felt frustrated and tears welled up.
I didn’t want to show that expression, so I immediately looked down.

Karina wiped my tears with a handkerchief she took out of her pouch.
”I wanna be a help to my mentor, man. ──I’m definitely going to the Welnia Labyrinth.”
”Yep. Fortunately, according to the dungeon master’s announcement earlier, it seems like the labyrinth won’t be rebuilt either.”
Mr. Gorge and Noriss said this and laughed together.
”Eluda and the others…we still have plenty of energy and stamina, you know.”
Eluda also stood up from the rock she was sitting on, winked, and flexed her muscles.
”Our Zack still has room for loot!”
”Alright. Let’s go as far as we can.”
”My golem hasn’t shown its true strength yet.”
”I see. I’ve certainly received everyone’s resolve. ──Now, Gieze.”
After nodding in satisfaction at Romy, Gunilla, and Charlotte, Violet flashed a smile at me.
”Ah. ──Let’s move out!”
I lifted my head and faced forward.
”G, Gieze… w, we mustn’t forget our clan ‘Famière’s’ motto… r, right?”
Karina said this to me with a smile as I faced ahead.
