Chapter 642 A Request to Principal Milia

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 (Kazumi’s POV)

”I understand how you feel, Kazumie…”

After a late lunch, Rena and I headed to school.

We were asking Principal Milia for magic lessons.

”As a principal, I can’t just teach one student, even if it’s you, Kazumi…”

Principal Milia welcomed us into her office with a smile, but she hesitated a bit at my request.

 ”But… I can’t help everyone if I’m like this.”

”That’s not true. Your fire magic is at a high level, like a top magician in the kingdom! It’s definitely Rank S power.”

Milia looked at me seriously as I stood up from the sofa in her office.

 ”But… that’s all it is.”

I said this with a self-deprecating smile and sat down on the sofa again.

”I got so caught up in flashy fire magic that I neglected other types──especially protection and support spells.”

”But, Kazumi… you have a really good teacher, right? Right, Rena?”

Milia asked Rena, who sat beside me.

But Rena just shook her head a little in response.

 ”In practice… I can’t compare to the principal. And…”

Rena looked at me with a troubled expression.

”Kazumi wants to improve quickly. She wants tough training. Short time is all that matters. But even with Kazumi’s huge magic power, training fast is really exhausting…”

Rena explained my selfish request to Principal Milia.

”So, I want to ask the principal. Please help me train efficiently to improve my magic quickly…”

 ”Efficient, huh…”

Listening to Rena, Milia rested her chin on her hand at the desk.

”To get good at magic, you really need to use it a lot, right? Kazumi has more magic power than others, but using it can still tire you out. Wait…”

Milia, the principal, looked up at the ceiling, deep in thought.

”That place would be great for other students’ magic training too…”

Suddenly, she smiled at me and Rena with a silly grin.

”Alright! We will have a one-week camp for advanced students who specialize in magic!”

Milia stood up, banging the desk, and yelled excitedly.

 ”Yes! I think it’s a great idea♡”

 ”A camp!?”

 ”Where!?”

Rena and I tilted our heads, asking Milia at the same time.

”The Fourth Floor of the Great Labyrinth Raetia. ‘Closed World’♡”

Rena and I exchanged confused looks as Milia winked at us.

* * *

”That place… is really perfect for magic training when you think about it.”

Milia walked in front of us, looking happy.

She seemed to be heading towards the 6th-grade classroom.

”You felt the strong magical power all around the ‘Closed World’, right?”

”Yes. It’s the magical power needed to maintain that environment, right?”

 Rena answered Milia’s question.

Indeed, we could feel strong magical power in that little world on that floor.

”The ‘Hidden Ones’ (Vampires) moved there, and Van has been researching it for a long time…”

Milia said, turning to look at us.

”The restoration of the destroyed environment is really fast. The magical power sent from the Dungeon Core is not just for maintenance; it’s also used for recovery. It could be perfect for attack magic training!”

 ”But… what I want to learn is──”

”I know. There’s a perfect reason for your training there too.”

Principal Milia approached and put her finger on my lips to stop my argument.

”You see… being there makes your magical power heal super fast.”

”I see. So the magic taint gets absorbed better there.”

 Rena nodded, looking impressed.

* * *

In this world, when you use up your magical power, you take in something invisible called ‘magic taint’ from the surroundings to heal.

People with lots of magical power can absorb it quickly, healing overnight even if they nearly run out.

”In that ‘Closed World,’ even regular people can absorb magic taint twice as fast. They can fully heal in about 3 to 4 hours. But for me, who has a lot of magical power…”

Principal Milia paused, teasing us with suspense.

 ””You mean, for you?””

”It took me less than an hour!”

Seeing me and Rena react with surprise, Principal Milia giggled with delight.

”So, you both should be fully healed in about an hour too! Perfect for intense training, right?”

”I see. Unlike the natural magic taint, what’s there is magical power that maintains and repairs the environment…”

”Exactly! The magical power sent from the Dungeon Core floats around as magic taint. It’s much denser and you can absorb it way better!”

Listening to their talk, I clenched my fists.

I practiced the magic Rena taught me over and over to get better.

Even for advanced magic, I couldn’t use ultimate magic too much.

 But──

(If that’s the case… I can practice magic until I drop and just take a little break to train again…!)

”Right? This is perfect for Kazumi’s training!”

I nodded a lot at Principal Milia, who winked at me.

”And… it’s true, this place is great for training fifth and 6th graders who are studying magic.”

Rena put her hand on her chin and nodded while mumbling.

”Right. We can’t give you special treatment. That’s why it’s a ‘camp’. What do you think?”

 ”When does it start?”

 ”Hmm…”

Milia stopped walking and thought for a moment.

Maybe she was talking to someone through ‘Telepathy’.

”The sooner, the better. ──How about the day after tomorrow? Students need time to prepare.”

 ”Isn’t that too soon!?”

 I was surprised.

Students and their families need to get ready, and the school has things to prepare too.

”I already got a budget from the lord, and asked Van to get ready, so it’s fine!”

 ”That’s still too fast!?”

 Rena teased Principal Milia next.

Even with ‘Telepathy’, the lord and Sir Elberhardt probably can’t say no to what she says.

 ”They understand quickly, those guys♡”

Milia stuck out her tongue and gave a playful smile as she skipped ahead of us.
