Chapter 641 Olga’s Resolve

(Hiroya’s POV)
We got back just as lunch was finishing at the mansion.
Mira, Emanuela, and Olga, Willem, and Geoff from Ares’s party were cleaning up.
”Sorry, Ms. Hanna. We’re late for lunch…”
”It’s alright. I can make more quickly.”
Kazumi and I bowed our heads in apology, but Ms. Hanna went to the kitchen with a smile.
”Everyone’s helping a lot lately, so I’m getting work done faster. Thanks to that, Ms. Carla and Ms. Sasha are really focusing on ‘Zett Merchant Guild’ work.”
”Usually, I’m busy until Wolf Maid and SanSan come back from school.”
Ms. Ariane and Lotta talked while cleaning the table.
I heard that Martina, Dorothy, and Maya were taking care of the kids.
”Ms. Martina and Ms. Dorothy help with parenting while watching our practice, it seems.”
”By the way… Haven’t the Gieze team come back yet? I saw Ms. Eluda rush in earlier…”
We took our seats at the table that Mira and Emanuela recommended.

”No… way!?”
As we sat down, I told Mira, Emanuela, and Olga, Willem, and Geoff about the attack from the Sixteen Demon Generals before the meal was ready.
I could see tension spread among them.
Only Mira managed to mumble something.
”So… is the Gieze team okay? What about Ms. Karina?”
Olga, the fighter of Ares Party, leans forward from the table.
Willem and Geoff, sitting on both sides, look down and shiver.
”It’s okay. Injured Gieze, Gorge, and Violet are already getting treated by Mister Rudolf.”
”The others are fine. They are still at the clinic… probably having a little meeting.”
After hearing Liz and Simona, Olga sighs in relief and plops back down onto her chair.
”That sounds tough… So, Ms. Gieze will be at the clinic tonight…”
”Yeah… they will stay overnight. It’s to help them rest. They will be back by tomorrow morning. ── Don’t look so worried, Ariane. Gorge is still strong.”
Ms. Hanna, worried while arranging lunch, gets help from Asuka who stands up to assist.
After hearing that Gorge is hurt, Ms. Ariane stops and speaks softly.

(Olga’s POV)
”I’m glad Princess Karin is safe…”
”Gisela──Gieze must have protected her well.”
”According to Mr. Hiroya and the Sixteen Demon Generals… it’s an Archdemon.”
Back in our room, we learned about the safety of Princess Karin and Ms. Karina, the magician from Team Gieze, and felt truly relieved.
”But… what do we do? We planned to reveal our true selves to the Famière tonight…”
”Well, we can do that tomorrow instead.”
Willem and Geoff peek at us while saying this, and I nod back eagerly.
”Yeah… it’s really hard to pretend to be someone else here.”
Since joining this clan, our feelings of gratitude have grown every day.
Even as guests in a room, the maids take care of us, not just providing meals but also helping with our needs.
And the adventurers, led by Captain Liz, give us lots of advice and lessons.
Mr. Hiroya and Ms. Asuka invited me to join their early morning training.
(I decided to be an adventurer while watching Princess Karin…)
I want to tell my true identity to the people of the ‘Famière’ clan, who have helped me so much.
That was the conclusion we 3 reached.
(I have to become a proper adventurer soon…)
I watched Willem and Geoff start to clean their gear, and I pulled out my armor from my big leather bag.
It’s from my time in the guard of the city-state Gaeltheus.
I removed the emblem from the chest piece and made changes so it can’t be recognized as Gaeltheus gear.
It’s armor that has always protected me.
”As usual, this armor is ugly and boring.”
While I stared at the spot where the emblem was, Willem, polishing her shield, smiled at me.
”Yeah. The Gaeltheus guard had ‘simple and strong’ as their motto. Fighters really stuck to that.”
”The Liz team wears nice armor. It’s very femi9 and beautiful.”
”W-What? I can’t wear armor like that…”
I imagined myself in Ms. Liz’s armor from Geoff’s words and felt embarrassed at how silly I looked, so I quickly shot back.
”But maybe you would look good in it? Mr. Ares might fall for you!”
”N-No!”
At Willem’s tease, my whole body got hot… especially my face.
”Oh? You’re turning red!”
”Really? Olga, do you like Mr. Ares?”
”What are you talking about!? He has a wife…”
Caught by Geoff and Willem, I desperately denied it by bringing up his marriage.
”But you like him, right? Just treat his wife politely, and you’ll be fine.”
Geoff smiled, her short hair giving her a cute and beautiful look.
”Mr. Ares, you are reliable and… a handsome guy.”
”I won’t deny that… but liking him is different!”
I shrank back at Willem’s lewd smile over the shield.
”Is that so? Then maybe I will get closer to Mr. Ares!”
Willem winked at me while saying this.
She also had short hair, looking very boyish, but her sharp eyes were quite sexy.
”Stop talking nonsense! First, we need to become proper adventurers. Then, we will gain the power to protect Princess Karina with Gisela.”
”And become adventurers that Mr. Ares and Mr. Garm can trust, right?”
Geoff said this, looking back and forth at Willem and me.
”Yeah. We have to meet their expectations since they invited us to their party, right?”
I felt a sudden strength in my hands as I polished my chest plate.
(We lost our home and the country we served… but we move forward with new goals.)
We tasted despair, yet we savored this unexpected happiness.
