One person stood there, frozen in shock, unable to understand the situation.

 ”Air Palm!”

Without wasting time, Lifia cast the same magic again.

The second person, struck perfectly in the jaw, collapsed unconscious right there.

Leaving the two rolling in the alley behind, we started to walk away.

 ”Yeah. Perfect, Lifia.”

 ”Hehe, thank you!”

We managed to neutralize them without killing them.

The practice using many goblins really paid off.

”Keep it up like this in the future.”

”Yes! I will do my best!”

Lifia nodded forcefully with her small, strong body.

She’s such a cute and reliable maid.

A few days later, we were traveling in a carriage.

 ”Ugh, I feel sick…”

I was in the middle of some serious motion sickness.

As I mumbled in pain, Lifia gently rubbed my back.

But the nausea didn’t stop, and the carriage rocked just as badly.

On top of that, my backside hurt.

”It might be tough for someone unaccustomed to this.”

Tifi, the reception girl from the Adventurer’s Guild, smiled wryly as she saw my condition.

Tifi was joining us for this job.

Normally, guild staff wouldn’t accompany wood-class adventurers.

But this time, Tifi took a vacation just to come along with us.

”But, Ms. Tifi, are you okay? The guild looked pretty busy last time.”

I tried to change the subject to distract from my sickness.

I wanted to focus on something else to avoid being overwhelmed by nausea.

Tifi responded with a light smile.

”Yes, things have settled down for now. I already submitted the investigation request, so we’re just waiting for reports. Besides, it’s actually my habit to go home during this time of year.”

According to Tifi, the town we were heading to was her hometown.

The farm suffering from horned moles belonged to her family’s farm.

The family brought the request to the guild, and we ended up taking the job.

The guild staff help families with their requests.

It might look like mixing business with pleasure, but it seems no one in the guild cares too much about that.

The job of getting rid of horned moles is boring and not very rewarding.

Tifi says if I hadn’t taken this job, no one else would have.

And by completing requests that no one wants to tackle, it helps build the guild’s reputation.

I can even qualify for a promotion to Iron rank.

”I see, so that’s what was going on!”

”Yes, so having Mr. Taro, who doesn’t care about rewards, is a big help.”

Yes, I can easily make money just selling the amenities from the Love Hotel.

That’s why, for me, it’s more important to level up and gain more information than to worry about my pay as an adventurer.

I haven’t told Tifi the details of my skills, but she might have some idea.

I went to the adventurer guild for the first time in a suit.

I also didn’t want to bring back goblin ears as proof of my quest.

She must have figured out that I’m not in need of money.

Plus, she’s probably noticed my connections with the heroes.

Tifi saw them come to check out my skills in person.

The only thing that worries me is the false skills I told them about.

I made up that I have an ability to increase my body power in the Love Hotel and that I have an “endless stamina” ability.

I wonder what Tifi thinks about that.

I worry she might be freaked out like a princess who banished me.

For now, she doesn’t seem too bothered, but I can’t tell what she really thinks inside.

 ”Mr. Taro?”

Tifi looks at me with a curious expression.

It seems she noticed I was lost in thought.

”Oh, it’s nothing. I’ll put my effort into the request.”

 ”Okay then, I appreciate it!”

 Tifi laughs brightly.

That smile makes me feel a bit relieved.

I can’t read her mind, but I don’t think she has a bad impression of me.

I decided to trust that feeling.

Just then, the carriage stopped with a light thud.

 ”Hey folks, we’ve arrived!”

 It was the coachman’s voice.

We had reached our destination town.

 I’m saved.

 Finally free from the shaking.

I leaned on Lifia’s shoulder and stumbled out of the carriage.

I still felt a bit dizzy from the motion sickness, but the fresh air outside felt nice.

In front of me, a small town spread out.

Surrounded by fields, a peaceful atmosphere floated in the air.

 ”Wow!”

 Lifia exclaimed in awe.

I looked too, and fields stretched out as far as I could see.

The wheat fields, dyed in the sunset, shone like gold.

Soft light spread like waves, and the wheat swayed in the wind, looking like it was dancing.

The quiet beauty wrapped around my heart, calming me.

 ”It’s beautiful.”

 ”Yes, it’s my favorite view.”

Tifi quietly replied to my words that slipped out.

Her eyes sparkled with a hint of nostalgia.

Seeing the scenery of her hometown, her expression softened.

”What will you do tonight? There are small inns in this town, but you can stay at my house if you want. You’ll have to share a room with the kids, though.”

 ”Kids…?”

 Kids!?

 No way, really!?

 Tifi doesn’t look that age.

She seems like she’s at most a college student.

 And yet?

This other world is too crazy!

Noticing my shock, Tifi hurriedly explained.

”…? Oh! When I say kids, I mean my younger siblings!”

 ”Oh, right. That makes sense.”

 Of course, yeah.

 I felt relieved.
