Volume 2 Chapter 13-2 The Bone Cave
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Lifia ran over happily, looking up at me with a shining face.
Her expression was innocent, like a child praised for their first success.
She was so adorable that I couldn’t help but smile.
”Well done!”
”Yes! I think I can be of more help now!”
Lifia stood tall, looking quite proud.
Lifia’s growth is impressive.
* * *
We steadily advanced through the dungeon.
I could handle a single bone wolf by myself.
The bone wolf is fast, but its attack moves are simple and straight.
If I catch the moment it jumps, I can swing my sword and take it down easily.
And most importantly, Lifia’s growth is remarkable.
By the end of the first floor, she could take down 2 bone wolves at once with her wind blades.
I am amazed by her focus and adaptability.
Other monsters appeared besides skeletons and bone wolves, but they were all made of bones.
Bone boars, bone horses, bone moles, and bone worms.
I can only guess what the original animals were.
I don’t know much about animal skeletons.
Do only skeleton-type monsters appear in this Dungeon?
By the way, the bone moles were weak.
I could crush them with my foot, and they didn’t drop any magic stones.
And my floor went up.

My maximum MP also increased to 180.
I secured a few Standard Healing Potions that cost 100 MP each.
Things are going well.
After a day, we cleared the first floor of the Dungeon.
The cave messes with your sense of time.
Since I can’t see the brightness outside, I keep moving in a dim environment.
When I checked the clock, it was already evening.
”Master,”
Lifia called out to me with a slightly nervous expression.
”Ahead, there is a large plaza before the stairs down to the lower floors. Many adventurers are there.”
”Many? What are they doing?”
”They seem to be taking a break.”
A plaza… Is it a good place to rest?
I moved carefully and stepped into the plaza.
It was indeed a vast space.
It might be as big as a gymnasium.
Adventurers were scattered around, eating and taking care of their gear.
Some were wrapped in cloaks, fast asleep.
It seemed there were several adventurer parties here.
Is this place safe?
Monsters might come in.
Or will they work together to defeat them?
When we arrived, we quickly caught everyone’s attention.
The reason was clear.
Lifia stood out, of course.
She was a beautiful half-elf girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing a striking mini-skirt maid outfit.
With her delicate figure and lovely face, she had a shining presence.
It was no surprise she stood out anywhere, but this was inside a dungeon.
Her glamorous appearance, so out of place, drew the gazes of the adventurers.
My outfit also stood out a bit, but compared to Lifia, it was nothing.
In the eyes watching us, there was not just curiosity and interest, but also caution and doubt.
It was understandable.
The adventurers we had seen on the way all carried heavy loads.
They needed supplies like food, water, and fuel for long explorations or stays.
In contrast, we were almost empty-handed, with only the bare minimum of weapons like swords and bows.
We looked so lightly equipped, it was no wonder we attracted attention.
I lightly brushed off their gazes and moved deeper into the square.
Then, a man approached us.
He had a scruffy beard and wore leather armor, giving off the air of a seasoned adventurer.
A well-used sword hung at his waist, and his strong arms bore many small scars.
He looked tough.
”Hey, you two,”
he spoke in a low, deep voice.
”You plan to go further with that gear? You might be skilled, but you should turn back soon. There’s no inn beyond this point.”
His eyes were sharp, but his words held no malice or harm.
If he had dangerous intentions, Lifia would surely give some signal.
But she just quietly watched him, showing no signs of alarm.
It seemed he was giving us a kind warning.
Surprisingly, he was a rather nice person despite his looks.
”Don’t worry.”
I reply with a slight smile.
”I have a plan for that.”
My skill “Love Hotel” is the inn itself.
Of course, I don’t plan to say that honestly.
”…I see.”
He doesn’t seem convinced by my words, but he nods and returns to his companions without saying more.
Watching his back, I let out a small sigh of relief.
Whether it’s good or bad intentions, I want to avoid getting tangled up.
It’s best if things stay calm like this.
”Hey, hey, are you taking a maid on a tour here?”
A rough voice comes from behind me.
I turn around to see a few thuggish adventurers staring at us.
One man stands out and steps forward.
He wears dirty leather armor and has a poorly maintained sword hanging at his waist.
His eyes mix malice and mockery.
The other adventurers glance at them and quickly look away.
They keep their distance, trying to avoid any trouble.
”If you lend me that little lady, I’ll share a meal with you.”
The man says with a sleazy grin.
I quickly understand what he means.
To get food in this dungeon, we can only bring it from outside.
Seeing that we are empty-handed, he thinks we are hungry.
And he tries to take advantage of that weakness by demanding I “lend” Lifia.
I don’t even need to think about what would happen if I did.
There’s no way I can lend her.
Lifia’s body is mine alone.
”No need. Leave us alone.”
I answer shortly and urge Lifia to move forward.
”Hah, acting tough, huh?”
”You’ll just end up getting hurt and running back with your tail between your legs.”
The men’s laughter echoes behind us.
We keep walking deeper without looking back.
Ahead lies the second floor of the dungeon.
