”It’s Chicken Ham! Mom, Chicken Ham’s Hero has come!”
When Raia-Raia saw me carrying the meat bag, she shouted loudly and ran into the house.
Well, I guess I’ll visit Raia-Raia’s house first today, even if it changes the order.
Raia-Raia’s house is a tailor’s, just 3 shops away from the blacksmith.
Her dad, Mr. Simonov, is a skilled tailor, a tall guy in his fifties.
Her mom, Ms. Lyra, is a plump woman in her forties, but she claims she’s still in her thirties.
Even though her daughter, who married into the neighboring town, already has kids, we decided to call her “Aunt Lyra” since she gets the hint.
Even though our houses are so close, Mr. Zenom hardly interacted with this family.
Well, I guess there’s probably no such thing as a sociable dwarf.
Recently, I shared some Chicken Ham and other things with them, and that led to us becoming friends as a family.
”Oh, oh, welcome! Being an adventurer is a dangerous job, you know. I was worried since I didn’t see you yesterday.”
Lately, Ms. Lyra has been dressing much younger.
I used to think she was just an ordinary aunt, but getting to know her revealed she’s quite an alluring mature woman.
People in this world usually have deep facial features, so just light makeup can change everything.
She transformed from a regular aunt to a stunning mature beauty; makeup can be scary.
Plus, recently, she’s been teasing me with seductive glances.
I thought an aunt’s flirty glance would be creepy, but strangely, I find myself enjoying it.
No, it’s not that I like older women.
But honestly, I think about 80% of healthy high school boys would feel a thrill getting a flirty look from Ms. Lyra.
Never underestimate a 40-year-old.
And her outfit?
It’s amazing.
It’s just a tailor’s work outfit, though.
It looks like a dress apron, but the one she’s wearing recently is quite open at the chest.
Ms. Lyra has a slightly chubby figure, but her chest is absolutely huge.
The outfit emphasizes her breasts while hiding her belly; it’s a well-thought-out design.
The word “big melon” suddenly pops into my mind.
Well, the big melon isn’t really about that kind of stuff, though.
It was a dark moment in my past when I borrowed it from the library, expecting something else.
Yes, in front of me are 2 things the size of melons, or maybe even watermelons.
A cleavage, or should I say a valley?
I can’t take my eyes off this breathtaking view; I start to wonder if it’s some kind of charm or skill effect.
Lyra-chan pretends not to notice my gaze, even though she does.
The way she doesn’t show off makes it feel even more teasing.
”Thank you for the Chicken Ham, Big Bro Hero. It was delicious!”
Thanks to Raia-Raia, I could finally escape from my spell.
She was a bit stiff, but cute, Raia-Raia.
She’s such a well-mannered child.
”It’s tasty, but maybe because of my age, I find salty food a bit hard to handle lately.”
Mr. Simonov said this and then got a fierce glare from Ms. Lyra.
The husband looked terrified; women can be scary, right?
I might wet myself if I were him.
”What are you complaining about? Even plain salt is hard to get these days. It’s just right to have it salty with bread!”
”That’s right, Dad! Chicken Ham is salty and delicious!”
Is Chicken Ham salty?
Maybe it wasn’t soaked properly?
I had heard that salted meat is common in this world without fridges, but properly soaking Chicken Ham makes it so much tastier.
For the sake of Chicken Ham’s honor, I must clear this misunderstanding.
Conveniently, I have a Chicken Ham sandwich I made for lunch in my bag.
”Here, try a bit of this.”
I hand out one piece to each of the 3 of them.
”This is delicious!”
Mr. Simonov says with surprise, almost with deep feeling.
I can tell it was good, but his reaction is rather mild.
In a foodie show, this would be the highlight; there are people who run around shooting beams from their mouths!
”I never knew there was something this delicious in the world!”
Ms. Lyra chews as if she’s testing the flavor.
It seems she understood how good Chicken Ham is, but her reaction is still subdued.
It looks like expecting more reaction from amateurs is futile.
”Chicken ham puffy and plump! Sizzle and melt my cheeks!”
Raia-Raia is excited and running around waving her arms.
Since she gave a good reaction, I decide to give her the remaining piece of Chicken Ham Sandwich.
”Thank you, Hero.”
The girl happily gets seconds while her parents look on with envy.
Adults, be patient.
”Leaving out the salt made it so much tastier, we were wasting it.”
”With that, I could eat it all day.”
It looks like Chicken Ham’s reputation is safe after all.
I’m happy as if my own pride was boosted.
”What a problem, even if we remove the salt, we still have to save water.”
”If we use too much water, everyone’s drinking water in the village will run out. If water from the (un)luck river is okay, I can fetch some.”
Oh, so that’s the reason.
Mr. Zenom has his own well, so he didn’t notice, but using the village water supply wastefully means the whole village will shun you.
”In that case, from now on, we’ll bring the ones that are salt-free. They won’t last long, so eat them before they spoil.”
”Is that okay? Thanks, but I feel kind of bad.”
”Chicken ham──puppy puppy Chicken ham──salty removal time, good trick!”
Raia-Raia is super hyped, singing a strange song and dancing weirdly.
It’s a good idea to eat a lot tonight.
”And, here’s a little extra for you.”
Handing over a bag filled with feathers plucked from a quail.
”Hey, if you have that kind of thing, we can buy it at the guild for the usual price.”
”You’re so naive, that price only gets Hero chump change.”
”No, it’s fine. I’m just not using it anyway.”
”Even if you’re okay with it, it causes problems for me. I don’t like borrowing things endlessly.”
Ms. Lyra is really a tough one.
”Yeah, I’ll hold onto these feathers. Before it gets cold, I’ll make some warm clothes with them.”
”You’ve won my heart all over again, that’s true Daddy!”
Oh, lucky.
All clothes in this world are handmade.
If you order from a skilled craftsman like Shimonov-san, it will cost gold coins normally.
The success of the extra gift plan!
”W, wait, you… what kind of thing are you showing to me!”
Mr. Simonov suddenly panicked when he saw the feathers I handed him. I wished he would react like that when he ate the Chicken Ham.
I also shoved the feathers at Ms. Lyra, and they both started groaning. Quail feathers shouldn’t be that rare, right?
”You have sewing skills, don’t you? You must be pretty good at it.”
Can he tell that just from looking at the feathers?
Not bad, Mr. Simonov.
He looks like a tired old man you can find anywhere, but when I think he’s a skilled craftsman, he starts to look like an impressive dandy.
”Hero, having sewing skills is great. If Ella weren’t married yet, I’d want her to marry you!”
Ms. Ella is probably Ms. Lyra’s oldest daughter who went to get married in a neighboring town.
She was said to be really large and is still talked about among the village’s big-bust fans.
Genetics are amazing.
”If I were at least 5 years younger…”
Ms. Lyra’s gaze is intense.
She’s acting a bit flirtatious.
Come on, lady, this is in front of your husband!
”I wanna be a bride too!”
Just when I thought the mood was getting weird, Raia-Raia barged in.
Don’t interrupt the adult conversation without knowing what’s happening.
”Oh really? That’s great. This Hero is quite a catch, so grab him while you can!”
Wait a minute, Raia-Raia is only 5 years old!
She’s cute, but I’m not interested in that way, probably.
I look to Mr. Simonov for help.
At a time like this, a stubborn father would say he won’t let his daughter get married.
”In ten years, no, even in 3 years, if she trains under me, she’ll become an amazing tailor, you know. Raia will find a good husband.”
I should really get out of here before things get even worse, so I quietly decide to leave.
