 *Sazukrain’s Perspective

In my hand, I held the soul of Kent, who lived in the northernmost village of the Demon Continent, the vessel for Orphée Bleu.

I just sent Kento Horikawa’s soul into his body on the Demon Continent, so Kent’s soul in my hand was now extra.

”What a poor soul. A life born only to become Orphe’s vessel. How sad.”

Looking at the flickering, weak ball of light, a feeling like pity welled up inside me.

Maybe I should let his soul inhabit Kento Horikawa’s body in that other world.

He’s getting old, but since I have to mess with the causality of that world with this summoning, letting him fill the gap is the kindest thing to do, right?

I start sending mana into the ball of light, which is about to disappear.

”Supreme God Sazukrain of the Celestial Kingdom commands!! You, Kent’s soul, shall use Kento Horikawa’s body as your vessel!!”

The light of mana released from my fingertips enveloped Kent’s light ball, and it flew towards the crack of time and space.

 …Well, live well.

Instead of being a loser, I tweaked the causality a bit so a pretty girl will take care of him… Well, the laws of causality will probably allow that…

I prayed for Kent’s soul, which disappeared into the crack of time and space, to do his best.

 *Kento Horikawa (Kent)’s Perspective

”…Ouch… what happened to me… my head is throbbing.”

I woke up in a completely unfamiliar room, rubbing my eyes.

On the desk in front of me was a strange object with various lines stuck into a square box and a book-like thing with indecipherable writing.

 Clink, clink.

As I was peeking around the room, I heard a knocking sound coming from what seemed to be a door.

”Brother Kento, are you awake!? I couldn’t get through to you on the phone, so Mom told me to come check on you!”

From the other side of the door, a young woman’s voice was talking to me.

At least, I could understand what the woman was saying.

I was trapped in this unfamiliar room, feeling anxious, but relieved to find someone I could communicate with.

”…I don’t know who you are, but could you please let me out? It seems I’ve ended up in a place I don’t know…”

”Huh!? Brother Kento, have you finally lost it!? Just open the door already!! If you keep saying such nonsense, I’ll tell Mom, okay!”

It seemed my words had enraged the woman, perhaps she took them the wrong way.

The only person I could rely on was now angry, and I felt my heart sink with unease.

Where the hell did I end up…?

This is weird… I was supposed to be in the northernmost village of the Demon Continent for my coming-of-age ceremony… How did this happen?

”Brother Kento!! If you won’t open it, I’ll just use the master key to unlock it, okay!!”

As the woman declared this, I heard a clattering sound from the other side of the door.

Then, the door slid open to the side with a grating noise.

The woman who appeared was around my age or a bit older.

She was a beautiful woman with well-defined features, sporting black semi-long hair, and she was staring at me with an angry expression.

”…Um, hello… I’m Kent… thank you for opening the door for me.”

I bowed my head to the woman in a fluster, and she stepped back in surprise.

”Wh, what!? Brother Kento just apologized!! Is there a typhoon coming tomorrow, or is it going to snow? Anyway, Mom is worried, so make sure to pick up the phone. You’re always holed up playing games, she said.”

The woman started lecturing me, pointing her finger as if she was ready to scold.

I don’t really get what she’s saying, but basically, it sounds like I did something wrong.

”S-sorry… I swear I’ll apologize properly… please, can you help me… I don’t know what to do… You’re the only one I can rely on!!”

Clinging to the woman who was scolding me, I bowed deeply and begged for forgiveness.

”W-wait!! Brother Kento?! What’s wrong with you!? You’re seriously acting crazy. You’re not on some weird drugs, right? Ah, don’t cling to my legs!!”

”P-please help meee!! I’ll do anything!! Please!!”

I held on tight, begging her not to run away.

If she left me now, I’d be lost and wouldn’t know what to do.

”You’re unbearable!! Brother Kento!! Calm down! Ahh!! Stop touching my chest!! Idiot!!”

Just as my hand touched something soft, a dull, sharp pain hit my right cheek.

 ”Ow!!!”

That’s when my vision started to fade.

When I woke up next, something warm was under my head.

Looking up, the same woman was resting my head on her lap.

And there was a cold cloth pressed against my bruised right cheek.

”S-sorry… Brother Kento, this is your fault. You suddenly hugged me and grabbed my chest… normally I’d just shove you away, saying, ‘I don’t care about the real world you,’ and send you off… but why did I do this today…”

She looked confused, staring into my eyes.

”I… I don’t even know how to explain, but I was brought into this room from somewhere and I can’t get back… Sorry, but I don’t even know your name…”

Hearing that, her face dropped in shock.

”What!? Brother Kento, you have amnesia!? That wasn’t caused just now, right!? No way… What do we do… Should we go to the hospital!? Or should I call your mom first?”

”Wait, before that, could you tell me your name?”

I grabbed the hand of the woman who was about to get up from my lap and asked her name.

”…You really don’t remember? I’m Nishijima Shiori, a 20-year-old university student. You are Brother Kento Horikawa, 35, the head of this household.”

The woman who introduced herself as Nishijima Shiori pointed a finger right in front of my nose.

”Nishijima Shiori… so you’re a noble? Which is your first name and which is the family name?”

”Huh!? Me, a noble? Seriously, Brother Kento really took a hit!”

Shiori was clutching her head, looking on the verge of tears, but at that moment, her chest was pressing against my cheek, offering a surprisingly soft sensation.

…Whoa, a beautiful girl’s lap pillow and her chest… maybe this world isn’t so bad after all…
