Fake-Survivor 128-2

Chapter 128-2

That warm presence belonged to Ms. Casa, just like Ms. Marisa earlier──she trapped my arm between her chest.

With a figure like that, she exuded more nurturing energy than a mother could provide.

I mean, it’s probably not something a president should do in public, but she maintained her composure, blushing as she turned to me.

”Let’s discuss the details in my room… You came for that, didn’t you?”

 ”Ah, yes, that’s right.”

Well, it’s probably concerning for her that people think Ms. Marisa’s charming men──especially as her daughter.

Though Ms. Marisa’s just a shop attendant, as president, she could argue it’s a high-stakes negotiation, so there’s no real issue with that, huh?

As I considered this, I followed Ms. Casa towards her room, where Ms. Marisa called out, “That’s so unfair!” from behind.

* * *

Stepping into Ms. Casa’s office, we paused in front of the sofa, which faced the low table.

”Um… may I let go of your arm?”

 ”Oh, of course.”

 ”Then please, have a seat.”

Ms. Casa finally released my arm at my response and encouraged me to sit on the sofa, so I complied.

As I waited, Ms. Casa approached her desk and returned with a sealed letter from what seemed to be a locked drawer.

 ”E-excuse me.”

 Plop.

 ”Huh?”

I was puzzled by Ms. Casa suddenly sitting beside me, but she explained herself right away.

”This is a confidential matter… so we should speak as quietly as possible.”

Swoosh.

 ”Ah…”

As she edged closer, clearly expecting me to understand, Ms. Casa seemed to think an apology was in order first.

”I apologize for my mother’s earlier rudeness.”

 ”Ah, no, it’s fine.”

I felt awkward knowing she might think I was trying to flirt, and at the same time, I couldn’t completely dismiss it either… I had to be careful not to imply Ms. Marisa lacks charm.

 ”…”

Ms. Casa locked her gaze on me, then turned it to the letter she brought, pulling it out to unfold.

”Let’s get down to business. This is from Lady Elina, stating that the problem at the Gavrett estate has been resolved. Is this true?”

”Yes. Lady Alicia’s curse has been lifted.”

 ”Haa… Thank goodness…”

Ms. Casa breathed a sigh of relief, sounding genuinely happy with my answer.

But the rest of the information was important, so she straightened herself and continued to review the letter’s contents.

”Ahem. Now, it seems there are plans to reward our merchant guild for its assistance in this matter. What about this?”

 ”Yes, I’m aware of that.”

”I see. But…what does this mean?”

She nodded at my reply, then pointed to the second page of the letter.

It stated that my reward would be sent along with the guild’s, and that it should be delivered in secret through the “Amiras merchant guild.”

This was because I was to be presented to Viscount Gavrett simply as a bodyguard, and they couldn’t directly offer a reward befitting my role in Ms. Alicia’s uncursing.

I explained this, and Ms. Casa nodded in understanding.

”I see. Well, it couldn’t be done openly, I suppose.”

 ”About that, though…”

”I understand. If this gets out, it could cause trouble for Lady Alicia. I have no intention of speaking a word of it.”

She seemed close to Ms. Alicia, so I thought she’d be okay with it, but I was relieved by her answer.

Then… Ms. Casa leaned in close, and once again, pressed my arm between her breasts.

 She then explained her motives.

Mnyum

”Perhaps concerned about leaks, Lady Elina’s letter only mentioned the problem being solved…but it’s clear that your cooperation was essential to this reward. And if we’re also going to be compensated… well, this is the least I could do.”

”Ah, I see. But that’s also because you sent Lady Siera, so I don’t need any extra services.”

Turns out I got a reward outta nowhere, all thanks to Ms. Casa’s ‘services.’ But I’m good, I’ve already gotten what I needed.

I tell her as much, and she just shakes her head, pointing to a letter from Ms. Elina.

”Not exactly, she says. ‘The letter states that within Lady Elina’s jurisdiction, we can increase our trade share with the merchant guild as much as possible for at least ten years. Furthermore, with Viscount-sama’s approval, the Gavrett family’s taxes could be exempted for the same duration.’”

 ”That’s…”

 Pretty big talk there.

Sure, the trade share increase is possible, but even if the national taxes can’t be waived, the Gavrett family’s share can be skipped?

Well, I guess that’s the kind of ‘big deal’ it was.

 Ms. Casa continues.

”‘ven just helping Lady Alicia would be more than enough, but if you could bring such significant benefits to our merchant guild… This level of service is hardly excessive.”

 Shush, shush…

As she speaks, her hand moves down to my groin, rubbing the hidden into view.

She doesn’t seem too used to this, but there’s something enticing about it.

Still, the reward from the Gavretts isn’t set in stone yet, so I stop her hand and speak up to Ms. Casa.

”The reward isn’t officially decided yet. It might end up being something smaller, and then it wouldn’t be right to go through all this trouble.”

”I’m fine with just helping Lady Alicia…”

”No, no. It seems you’ll be receiving the compensation from the Gavrett family.”

 ”…”

As I try to refuse, she leans in close.

”Oh, perhaps you might prefer my mother over me?”

She seems to have misunderstood my refusal as a matter of taste.

Guess that’s what she thought after dealing with Ms. Marisa earlier.

”Huh? No, it’s not like that… I think either way is fine, really.”

I answered her sudden question like that, and Ms. Casa seemed lost in thought before stepping away.

”…I see. Then, let’s consider this matter settled once the Gavrett family’s reward is confirmed.”

 ”Yeah, alright.”

Well, it’s not like I’m opposed to receiving Ms. Casa’s… services.

So, if the reward gets confirmed, I’m okay with taking up the offer.

But if I have a reason to refuse, I can just head back to Dungeon City.

After all, now that my business here is done, I’m free to leave this town whenever I want.

With that settled, I put this issue on hold for now and moved on to telling her about the warehouse──the real reason I came here in the first place.
