Volume 4 Chapter 17 Dissociation

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

I’ve heard the ultimate secret of bedroom arts is not to leak. This world’s version is a bit different from Earth’s, but still, not leaking seems key.

Reaching the peak and then releasing leads to this so-called “wise man mode,” where the flow of mana changes drastically. It’s better to hang on the edge and keep going – easier and more efficient.

In this world, the bedroom arts are a mutual mana cycle with a partner. It’s like a perpetual mana machine, and you get sexual pleasure too – a win-win secret or trick? Sadly, since I can’t use mana-releasing magic, most attack spells are out. But it works great with some magics, like body enhancement.

You can do it just by holding hands or kissing, but the mana flow is thickest when bodies are pressed together. It’s like the mystery of life, the incredible energy generated for reproduction. The power of sex is something else. Too explicit talk might upset Ms. Nina, so let’s call it the strength of love instead.

Literally becoming one in body and soul, you can share each other’s protection. That’s the strength of love, right? While connected, Mubiel gets the benefits of mutual exchange, and I can use my Advanced Spirit strength.

The problem is it’s too embarrassing to use in public. Even with full stealth skills, I wouldn’t want to use it in battle. Maybe just for healing or production.

”Master, it looks like Lamia and the others are back~.”

Mubiel has started calling me master for some reason. She’s learned a lot about bedroom arts from me, but it should be the other way around. She’s trying to please me, and I don’t mind that at all, which is the tricky part.

The party of Lamia, Pixie, Naga, and Salamander, sent to the 4th floor, finished their battle and returned. Their opponents were those 4 Heroes.

”Seems like it. What now? Keep going till the end?”

 ”Leave it to me.”

When you hit climax together, with your mana boosted by bedroom arts──man, that’s perfection. Think: not just going over the edge, but tearing a hole in the universe. Big Bang stuff. Could probably make a whole new galaxy with that impact.

But after that? Brain goes full wise-old-man mode. Can’t be bothered to move.

Problem is, I can’t afford to flop like that right now, so I force myself to ease down gently.

Mubiel looks a bit disappointed. Honestly, I’m just as bummed, but hey──no choice.

Sounded like the lamias crushed it in their battle.

In a perfect world, those 4 would clear the dungeon, sell the Dragon God’s Herb to the village chief, and we’d all be happy.

But if I really want to save Ani-Ani, safest bet is me delivering the Dragon God’s Herb myself.

”Doesn’t matter how tough you are if you can’t even coordinate. Heroes? Please. They’re not fit for training dummies.”

The Hero party’s teamwork was, as usual, garbage.

Actually, from what I hear, they got even worse since last time. Uno’s not wrong to be exasperated.

During the fight, two of them ran off and left their buddies behind, and those 2 croaked before respawning.

What are they even trying to do here?

 Zero player skills.

”Guess that means I’ll have to bring back the Dragon God’s Herb myself.”

Once the words left my mouth, it was like a switch flipped──no turning back now.

Well, technically, maybe, but a guy’s got to stick to his word, right?

 Or something like that.

After messing around with my editor skills, I’d burned through all my skill points pretty nicely.

Can even walk out past the valley barrier now──won’t go boom anymore.

Leaving behind the happy days with my wives sucks.

 Really sucks, honestly.

But we’ll be together again soon.

With Ms. Claire’s legs, she can walk here from Toyata village in just 2 days.

”So the day’s finally come… we’re getting divorced, huh.”

Uno says it quietly, looking down.

At some point, all the other advanced spirits and regular spirits gathered around us.

Feels way too much like a funeral now.

”Divorced? I’ll come back to visit, you know.”

Weird fate brings us together as husband and wife, and you’re already throwing out the d-word?

Dragons and spirits don’t even have lifespans.

You can wait a little, can’t you?

”Out there, just a little time passes. But in here, waiting feels endless.”

”If we keep holding on to our feelings for years, we’ll lose ourselves.”

In the past, a lot of dragons and spirits went mad just waiting for their partners──some turned into evil gods.

Exceneca, too. She once fell for a human and had a rough time.

They’re all so pure… or just terrible at letting go. Either way, their hearts run deep.

”So that’s how it is. I guess I have to stay here, don’t I?”

I married them──so it’s on me. Divorce or not, you can’t just walk away like it means nothing. Can’t make them suffer so much they break.

Is it really a choice between my wives’ happiness and Ani-Ani’s life?

If all I need to do is deliver the Dragon God’s Herb, I could ask Ms. Claire.

If everyone just thinks I died or left for good, no one gets tangled up.

I wouldn’t see Ms. Nina anymore, but… maybe that’s okay.

As long as I stay here, Ms. Nina won’t die.

No… that just pushes the problem way into the future.

 Time doesn’t stop.

One day, we’ll all have to face it.

But honestly, I want to be with Ms. Nina to the end.

If I put Ms. Nina and the Unos on a scale…

 That’s an impossible choice.

 Who could pick?

Back in Japan, I used to watch dramas and think guys who dated 2 girls at once were the worst.

All those wishy-washy light novel MCs──pathetic.

 But now?

Standing in their shoes sucks way more than it looked.

I finally get a harem in another world, and I can’t even make everyone happy?

”Don’t make that face. We’ll meet again someday. If we click then, let’s get married all over again.”

Frapatica’s the same as always. Hearing that kind of cheers me up.

”We’re not the type to pine forever for some guy we broke up with, you know. Well, unless it’s a master-student thing. My master will always be my master, no matter what.”

Mubiel knows how to lift my mood, too.

”Here, I’ll tell you something useful as a parting gift from your ex-wife. There’s a place not far from here called the Puppetmaster’s Dungeon. If you beat it, you win the prize──making your golem immortal.”

Uno just drops a huge bomb──turns out, dolls can’t die? That means we could actually save Ms. Nina. No question, this has to be priority one. Kinda pissed she didn’t spill this sooner, but thinking about it, barely any time has passed in the outside world. So whatever.

”It’s not like I was keeping secrets to mess with you. I just didn’t want to get your hopes up over a maybe. Don’t expect miracles.”

Even the tiniest bit of hope──I’ll take it. Drowning folks cling to anything, right? Stuff to do just keeps piling up, but as long as there’s hope, I don’t mind one bit.

”The little hero I loved──you’d throw yourself into danger to save a stranger. That was Sir Hero. I’m proud to see you leave on your journey.”

Emera says it all bright and cheerful, but I’m not that noble. I only took this path on a whim, just wanted to try out some strategy I thought up. Hell, there were plenty of times I almost left Ani-Ani behind. If anything, I’m just some jerk who’ll never be a hero. Still… getting praised doesn’t feel bad. Maybe I’ll keep pushing a little harder. Guess being positive’s worth a shot.

Better part ways with everyone on a good note. Only one still bawling is Ms. Exceneca. I hope she can forgive how reckless I am. My old girlfriend thought this side of her was “too much”──but honestly, I think it’s cute. Having someone care this much? Makes any guy feel lucky. Just… don’t cry now. I’ll come back to see you when I’m done with all this.

And with that, I walk away from the dragon’s den I called home for over ten years. In the outside world, less than half a day’s gone by since all this started. Feels like a dream──just one wild night, but damn, it was a good one.
