Volume 5 Chapter 9 Hero’s Tavern
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
In the end, all the herbs were gathered at Ms. Hóa’s place. Thinking about it, she is the leading expert in plant research in this country, so it is natural.
Of course, not that I am just a beginner, but I have also gained a big debt to Ms. Hóa again.
Not a monetary debt, originally elves do not trust money very much. In their society, if there is a troublesome comrade, mutual help is normal, so money among comrades is not necessary.
According to elven values, ungratefulness is the most shameful sin, even if equal exchange is impossible, it is important to try to repay the favor received. Even that gentle Ms. Erin was fiercely angered when she learned Mr. Laken tried to avoid paying me.
I also shouldn’t rely only on others, I feel like I want to return the favor someday… It would be good if I could find a new species of plant that Ms. Hóa would be happy about.

The materials needed to revive Ms. Nina are steadily being gathered. To have some metal parts made, Ms. Claire and others are going to do an errand to Mr. Zenom.
The order sheet written by Ms. Mahal is an encrypted drawing only understandable by dwarves, so I can’t even imagine what kind of items were ordered.
I also will owe a debt to Mr. Zenom, but according to Ms. Mahal, he will be happy because it’s a rare, challenging job after a long time. I will bring back some alcohol as a gift for my master, even if it’s unusual.
Then, next is the egg. First, I managed to get about a dozen raw eggs from the kitchen of Floria’s residence, and I heard some good information from the head chef at that time.
Recently, in the royal capital, the distribution of chicken eggs has increased, and prices are falling quite a bit. It seems a mysterious organization calling itself Hero Farm started selling large quantities of dairy products and eggs.
The new entry of Hero Ranch has had trouble with the Merchant Guild, which does not allow price destruction, and is currently making various adjustments. Since chicken eggs were originally a rare commodity with a small distribution, it seems that consumers are generally welcoming of them.
In the first place, the reason livestock products like eggs are so expensive is because of the superstition that if you have many livestock, monsters will attack.
In Toyata village, there was a strange rule that allowed only 2 legs of livestock per person. For chickens, one chicken per person, and for cows or pigs, one per 2 people.
In villages with nobles, the production of military horses takes priority, so the production of livestock products becomes even smaller.
Since wall barley is readily available, there’s no problem with feed, but in this situation, it’s such a waste.
A group of summoned Heroes who noticed this seems to have started a ranch near the royal capital. Since it’s a ranch run by Heroes, it’s Hero Ranch, straightforward.
Even if monsters were to attack due to the large number of livestock, it seems that having high-level Heroes as bodyguards would make it safe.
I’ve thought about this idea before, but I decided against it because I’m scared of monsters coming. My grandmother from the countryside used to say not to make fun of superstitions.
They’re probably stronger people gathered than I am, but there are always stronger ones. No matter how strong you are with cheats, it’s better not to overestimate your own strength.
Well, for someone like me who wants 2 thousand eggs, it’s a blessing that chicken eggs are cheap. Right, I’ll go buy directly from Hero Ranch. If it’s direct sales from the source, it should be cheaper, and there’s the advantage of being able to trade without the guild knowing.
If it’s cheap, I’d want about 3 thousand, including the ones for eating, not just 2 thousand. Since the freshness won’t drop if I put them in a magic bag.
Soon, I’ll have Mr. Zenom make me a square frying pan for omelettes. Ideally, copper, since the material of the pan can make omelettes several times more delicious.
By touching only the part on the copper plate and frying it thinly on low heat, then quickly rolling and stacking, you can enjoy both a crispy texture and juicy layers spreading on the tongue at the same time. The deliciousness of sweet rolled eggs with sugar is cheat-like, so I definitely want everyone in this world to taste it.

So far, there are not many clues about Hero Farm, only that they are active near the royal capital and that multiple summoned Heroes are involved.
You can also find places where many chickens gather with Radar Scan, but since you are bargaining anyway, it might be good to drop by the Hero’s tavern and gather information.
The Hero’s tavern is a nickname, but it is actually called Fresh Leaf Inn. It is in prime location, across the main street from the Adventurer Guild headquarters in the royal capital. It is easy to imagine that it has some relation to the guild.
The manager is a former summoned Hero, and if you have money, he will serve dishes in Earth-style. It’s quite expensive, though.
I couldn’t do the tutorial quest because I was summoned and immediately left the royal capital, so I hardly visited, but it is a standard activity base for adventurers operating around the royal capital.
If you go to the Hero’s tavern, you will probably get some information. (Luck) if the timing is good, there might be someone from Hero Farm just visiting.

Walking down the main street of the royal capital in the afternoon toward the Adventurer Guild.
At this time, there are surprisingly few people passing by, the city becomes lively mainly in the morning and evening when carriages come and go.
Some vendors are even leisurely sleeping, and it seems that no reckless thief would work near the Hero gathering place. Thieves caught by Heroes with a strong sense of justice tend to be miserable.
The royal capital’s Adventurer Guild headquarters is an old brick-built building. Due to its age, a renovation is planned soon. The Hero Management Bureau says they lack budget, but it is quite prosperous, so it probably is a different organization, even if they are deeply related.
To begin with, the origin of the guild seems to be like a labor union-type private organization, so it’s natural that the guild’s finances are different from the country’s Hero management agency. By the way, the temple that summons Heroes is said to be an independent religious group with no connection to the country. There seem to be various taboos around that topic, and if someone like me asks questions, I’ll just be evaded endlessly.
If I ask Miss Floria, she’ll probably teach me thoroughly until I understand… but I need to be prepared to stick with the lesson until the end. It’s not something I can ask casually.
For now, let’s just say it’s about various things in the world.
I stop in front of the splendid main gate of the guild. I have no particular business today. Lately, I’ve been feeling like skipping the daily quests, but the rewards are just a drop in the bucket for me now. Time is more valuable to me than money at the moment.
But wait, there might not be any quests like being an errand to the Hero Ranch either. It’s not that I should rush, but if it’s just a peek, it’s not like I’m taking a detour… right? I should be careful not to take detours; I’ll ignore the daily quests with an iron will.
Instead of the main gate, I enter through a small door on the side. The scale is different, but the Adventurer Guild in the capital and the one in Toyata village are not so different. Quest notice boards are lined up, and there is a reception counter in the back. The reception girls are always beautiful, but it seems like the guild headquarters in the capital hasn’t hired new ones in about ten years… well, that, um, what. I casually shift my gaze back to the notice boards without being rude. The life of a flower is short.
As I thought, the quests posted on the notice boards are mostly tutorial quests for beginners. Heroes with Doll Princess companions are diligently searching for quests. The new armor that doesn’t seem to have quite fit yet must belong to those who were just summoned here.
Have the Doll Princesses been upgraded to new models? There are many unfamiliar faces. The reinforcement metal on their chins, making them look more doll-like, is probably for cost reduction, right? It seems like the parts for Homunculi are expensive.
Come to think of it, I’ve never seen anyone else like Ms. Nina. Where are the other doll princesses cloned from Princess Auroora? If Ms. Nina is No. 217, there should be at least 200 of them.
”Hey, newbie. What are you looking around for?”
A man with scruffy beard who had been talking to the receptionist approached me with a grin on his face. It was the first time I’d seen a hero in worn leather armor and carrying a cheap long sword, more worn out than me.
