Volume 5 Chapter 11-2 Meat Becomes Delicious with Salt
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Thanks for worrying, but I do not have a close relation with Mr. Kondou.
I find people who are all over the place a bit scary.
”Is this your first time meeting everyone else? Then let’s introduce ourselves clockwise.”
Clockwise, huh? That phrase feels nostalgic.
Here, I don’t feel like I am in a different world.
”I-I’m Arsam, a knight. I used to be a knight. But now I cannot fight anymore. I was cursed with some boring spell.”
He looks pale and unlucky. I heard about him from Mr. Dogor.
Apparently, he married a water spirit and gained a blessing, but was cursed when she was unfaithful.
Even among water spirits, Exceneca is very different.
There was a jealous spirit too.
Arsam is currently hiding in his room.
He only shows his face here during meals.
It’s impressive that Professor cares for others without expecting anything in return.
”Shirakaba, a Paladin.”
Shirakaba looks quite handsome, different from Arsam.
Wait, could this person be? Well, it doesn’t matter to me either way.
Paladin is a top-tier knight class.
They have strong defense and decent healing magic.
Shirakaba looks about my age, but was summoned much earlier.
Or maybe they worked hard at leveling up?
”Agito here. I just arrived, but I am level 18.
I don’t acknowledge anyone below my level as a senior.”
They look like a middle schooler, probably eager to act older.
Getting level 18 in a dungeon in a few weeks is not unusual.
Does Havena realize I am only level 4?
Strength isn’t everything that decides human worth.
”Some more might come later, but let’s eat while the food is still warm.”
I, Raoh, Mr. Kondou, Professor, Arsam, Shirakaba, Agito, 7 people.
I thought Mr. Dogor would eat with us too, but apparently not.
It seems impossible in this world’s common sense for servants to share the same table as their master, but I never really cared. Mr. Zenom doesn’t mind eating with Ms. Ant and the others in the cafeteria.
It’s not uncommon for Antfolk to eat at the same table as Ms. Hóa. Ms. Claire and the others usually eat separately, but that’s because centaurs cannot fit inside the house.
Well, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Mr. Dogor thinks it’s normal to eat the leftovers of his master, and I don’t mind that at all.
It just felt a little strange that the professors accepted it as a matter of course. I’d hate it if they looked down on humans in this world.

”What is this!? What is this deliciousness?”
Mr. Raoh is devouring the steak as if he might eat the plate as well.
”It was steak for lunch too, so honestly, I was tired of it, but this is like food from a different dimension. I never ate meat this good even when I was in Japan.”
”It’s the effect of a skill, I guess. Those with production-type cheats are lucky. They don’t have to level up in dangerous ways.”
Agito really isn’t cute, after all. Still, like Mr. Raoh, she’s eagerly devouring the meat.
”Is this really the same meat we always eat?”
Professor, surprised by the steak in his mouth, looks at Mr. Dogor, who nods, trying to act mysterious.
”The omelette is really delicious.”
”It tastes like a plain omelette from a high-class restaurant. How nostalgic.”
Mr. Shirakaba and Mr. Arsam seem to like the omelette, but unfortunately, it’s not the same as the restaurant version.
When it’s a high-class restaurant’s plain omelette, they wouldn’t cook it in a pan that still has the steak’s juices. This one mixes a variety of scents, which makes it tasty in its own way.
If you’re picky about it, you’d want a pan dedicated just for eggs.
”I never thought I’d be able to taste consommé soup again.”
Professor refilled the soup; it pained him a bit. The consommé was actually fake. He had no time, so he roughly imitated the stock with lard and marrow using his cooking skill. He only seasoned it with salt. The ingredients were not much different from solid bouillon.
Mr. Kondou ate silently; he probably thought he was eating in a VRMMO.
”Hey, there’s still more refills. Since the others won’t be back today, let’s eat it all.”
Agito won.
”I’m still very happy that I can eat such delicious meals from tomorrow on.”
Hmm, Mr. Arsam might be misunderstanding something.
”Um, I’m just here to buy eggs.”
Everyone except Raoh froze. Wait, did I not tell Professor yet?

”We have too many eggs right now. It would be great if we could use them effectively.”
Surprisingly, Mr. Kondou was the leader of Hero Farm. Merchant Guild started interfering with Crafting, closing the egg market.
The eggs kept piling up every day, and it seemed like a waste. It was a problem for the Merchant Guild, but it worked well for me.
”Those guys are absolutely unforgivable. They kept causing trouble, saying monsters come when livestock increases. Now they copy us as soon as we succeed.”
The skilled people from Merchant Guild even built a new farm next to Hero Farm. They seemed to be poaching employees.
The poached employees would take breeding livestock as a gift to Merchant Guild. That’s too moral.
Could Hero Farm end in failure?
I decided to take all the unsold eggs. Some were old, but I bought nearly 5 thousand chicken eggs for ten thousand gold. No complaints.
At Hero Farm’s poultry farm, they seemed to use non-breeding roosters for meat. Most of the eggs were infertile.
There were many things, but this brings us one step closer to Ms. Nina’s resurrection.
