Volume 5 Chapter 13 Pygmalion

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”Schulz-kun, let’s play.”

Recalling his childhood, he calls out with innocent feelings. Well, he has ulterior motives. His goal is to become friends with Schulz and avoid fighting to obtain the dragon’s spirit.

A dragon’s mentality is like that of an eternal elementary school student—an eternal summer vacation for an eternal child. In a way, it’s an enviable existence. Their intelligence far surpasses humans, but their thought patterns are childish or innocent. Like children, they can be cruel without hesitation, so caution is necessary.

Oh no, negative images must not be conveyed to the other party. The Mind Communication skill is inconvenient in situations like this. With a naive heart, innocent and pure.

 ”Let’s play.”

There’s no hostility at all; I just want to have fun with Mr. Dragon.

Did his innocent heart get through? The space in front of him wavers slightly—a scene he’s seen many times before. It seems a teleportation gate has appeared.

There are many names for it: teleportation gate, warp gate, etc., but it’s simply a convenient door to another space.

There was something similar in the Valley of Trials, and it was a real pain in the Puppeteer’s dungeon. The spells used seem different, but the purpose is the same.

I wish I could use this magic too. It would save a lot of travel time if I could instantly go back and forth between the capital and Toyata village.

I don’t know if it’ll be useful, but I’ll record the spell with my Editor skill before stepping into the teleportation gate.

It could be a fatal trap that teleports me inside a rock, but I doubt they’d use such a cheap trick against someone like me. A dragon’s pride wouldn’t allow it.

As soon as I enter, I’m warped out. My eyes take a moment to adjust from the bright outdoors to the sudden darkness after teleporting. Is this a kind of eye-blinding tactic too?

I can use Radar Scan, so I don’t rely on visual strength. I won’t reveal my hand to a first-time opponent; I’ll pretend to be blind. Checking the surroundings, it doesn’t seem particularly dangerous.

My eyes slowly adjust to the dark—time for the night vision skill. The corridor with stone pillars becomes faintly visible. Ahead, on the altar, is a magnificent chair, like a throne room, but the master is absent.

Still, what a magnificent interior. Even the royal palace in the capital pales in comparison.

The walls and ceiling are adorned with exquisite tiles forming geometric patterns. It feels more like a palace from a sci-fi movie than a fantasy world.

Along the corridor walls and atop the pillars, shelves hold beautiful half-naked female statues. The thinly clad maidens seem like they could move at any moment.

Looking closely, they are truly lifelike—all stunning beauties, but they feel more like specimens than art.

Magic lights on the candleholders mounted on the pillars light up one after another. It feels like a boss is about to appear.

”How about it? Isn’t it wonderful?”

Turning around, a ten-year-old-looking blonde beauty stands there. The timing is so sudden I almost jump.

When did he get there? For him to avoid my Search skill, he must be quite skilled. He looks weak, but he must be Schulz.

”It’s been hundreds of years since we’ve had an official guest, and it’s a human. You’re the one who tamed the fierce female dragon, right? You have quite the taste.”

Does he know about my marriage to Uno just from meeting me? Well, I know there’s a skill that reads people like a resume. Ms. Hóa from the High Elves did something similar before.

”Normally, I don’t like human males, but I’m in a good mood today. I’ll give you a special welcome. I was just wanting to show off my collection to someone.”

The collector’s desire to show off their collection, huh? First, I need to stay silent and just listen to his bragging.

From experience, praising amateurs can be dangerous. Collector values differ from normal people, so talking carelessly can trigger anger.

You must never say honestly, “Turning girls into living dolls is a great obsession.”

”What you’re looking at is one of my favorites. I found her in the south before. It’s rare to see a female Demonfolk.”

This is a Demonfolk? I’ll examine her carefully again.

She looks different from my imagined Demonfolk. No horns or wings—I can’t tell how she’s different from a human. Where exactly is the difference? Her skin is a bit pale blue, but maybe she’s just unwell.

”I generally hate nasty females, but Demonfolk females are still cute compared to dragon females. Once fixed in place, they become obedient.”

 ”Fixed?”

Damn, I accidentally said that out loud. Did my quiet listening plan fail right at the start?

”This is an ultimate magic I devised. It’s not cheap magic that just stops time. It’s different. It doesn’t bind the soul. The fixed target lives forever in a beautiful form with consciousness.”

Schulz proudly boasts about his original magic. He seems not to have lost his temper.

But being conscious but unable to move forever is a kind of torture. He might be immortal, but it’s not joyful at all.

”Just now, I got two new females. I was in the middle of fixing them. Since it’s a special occasion, I’ll show you.”

Schulz opens a space before him like opening a door and walks in. I hurried to follow.

The teleportation destination is a place much bigger than the Great Cathedral of the capital. The ceiling is a huge dome.

Even when I try to check the position of the throne room from earlier, Radar Scan can’t show its location clearly.

It seems each place exists in a different otherworldly space. The dungeon levels in Uno were surely like that too. As expected of a dragon.

This means if I anger Schulz, I can’t go back. It’s pointless to worry because I’ll die the moment I make him mad.

”Pretty nice ladies, aren’t they? Their material is okay, but I can’t think of good poses.”

Two semi-naked women stand motionless before me. Schulz recently got them, I heard.

One is a young blonde girl, kinda like Ms. Nina. She seems a bit sharp, but maybe because her face stays fixed angry.

The other is Mr. Shirakaba. So he was really in male attire after all. I kinda guessed that when he was introduced.

According to the Professor, summoned heroes are supposed to be male only. But maybe exceptions exist. Perhaps he was caught up in someone else’s summoning.

”This female is from another world, and she’s quite a rare find. She’s a female but dressed like a male, which is strange, huh? But I can’t be fooled by her appearance,” Schulz said.

She’s like a kid proud of a rare insect she caught. Considering strength, humans might be just like bugs.

”I like the weakness and fleeting beauty of human females. That’s why I won’t eat her. Even if I get tired, I won’t throw her away. I take responsibility and keep her safe,” Schulz said proudly.

Even if Schulz says that confidently, he probably means no harm, but he’s like an innocent yet cruel child.

Children won’t understand unless you teach them. Likely no one has ever taught Schulz about human morals. If he offends, he might be killed right then.

Schulz should learn about human ethics to interact better with humans in the future.

…But maybe that’s pointless. It’s arrogant to push human morals on a dragon’s overwhelming existence.

Then, I should flatter Schulz and try to get him to like me. I can give him what he wants and become friends. First, I need to become friends. Maybe he will listen to advice from a friend. It’s time for the friendship plan.

My main goal is not to become close with Schulz. I want him to help gather ingredients for Ms. Nina. I want him to fight on Seigi’s side.

”What kind of female pose do you like? I want to hear a human male opinion, just as a reference,” Schulz asked me.

This is a good chance. Should I reveal my trump card now? Or is it too early? But I might not get another chance like this. Fine, I’ll go for it! I will try to make a move.

”Yes. I want to show you my favorite pose, but can I prepare a little first?”
