Volume 14 Chapter 46 Central Control Room

*Kent’s Perspective
Milly and the others arrived with me in front of the building housing the Central Control Room. The structure was the same dull silver color as the ‘another world monster,’ with no windows at all, giving the impression of a large, flat, warehouse-like building used for logistics.
”Is this the Central Control Room…?”
”Probably. I’ve never been to another world either, so I can’t be completely sure, but judging by the broken entrance, I’d assume Iska infiltrated from there.”
In the direction Milly pointed, a wall had been flawlessly melted, leaving a large, gaping hole. Inside the building, faint lights and magic flickered, but the brightness was subdued, making it impossible to see clearly within.
”Lord Kent… it seems Lady Iska has already almost completely overwhelmed the guards inside. Shall we quickly search the building for the device to close this otherworldly invasion?”
Aurelia, cautious as she looked around, proposed rushing into the building. The other members seemed to share the same opinion. So far, only Milly, Annabella, Feria, Ines, Lina, Lana, Talia, Aurelia, Flamil, Carlamia, and Valentina had followed; the others were fighting to clear out the ‘another world monsters’ that appeared in the ruins.
Except for Valentina, everyone had already grown into skilled Monster Hunters, capable of easily defeating ‘another world monsters’ due to their combat prowess.
”That’s right. Sir Kent, we don’t have the luxury to waste time.”
In the direction Annabella pointed, a building resembling the ‘another world monster’ manufacturing plant outside the Abyss Gate of another world could be seen partially hidden, with signs of activity visible.
”Yeah. We need to find the shutdown device quickly and separate this alternate space from Grimoire…”
According to Valentina and Lina’s speculation, this place was a shelter created by the Fairy species for evacuation. It seemed that an artificially created space, which originally did not exist, was being forcibly maintained. The device generating that space should be somewhere inside the building before us.
We passed through the melted entrance in the wall and stepped inside the building.

The interior of the building had high ceilings, and within it were shelves tightly packed with vertically arranged, inverted teardrop-shaped capsules. Among them, several broken capsules could be seen, and some of the unbroken capsules contained human bones still in their original form.
”…So this was indeed a shelter for the Fairy species. No wonder there were no human traces in the Grimoire ruins, even though they were present…”
”During the panic caused by the appearance of the False Humans, they probably took refuge in this shelter, preserved their bodies here, transferred their personalities to memory chips, and fought the False Humans as Love Dolls. The fact that there were no human bones in the Grimoire ruins means the Fairy species must have realized the threat of the False Humans early on and fled. Perhaps the Fairy species were the ones who created the False Humans. With such advanced technology, it wouldn’t be surprising for them to create synthetic life forms.”
I was almost convinced by Lina’s speculation that the Fairy species, who had perished in the capsules before me, were the ones who had created the False Humans, the precursor to the ‘another world monster.’ As Lina said, the fact that there were so few deceased-like figures leaving the Grimoire side after evacuation only strengthened her guess. However, it seemed there was no one left who could provide the answer to this question now.
”This place is creepy~, Mr. Kent. Let’s finish the search quickly, pick up Ms. Iska, and go home~”
Feria, demoted from Maid Dragon to Maid Warrior because she left the Dragonewt outside, made a pathetic voice. Certainly, it’s a creepy place, but searching such a vast area with just us will take considerable time.
”For now, let’s split into four teams and search the area. Report any abnormalities to your allies immediately! Also, since there might still be ‘another world monsters’ remaining, be very careful during the search.”
Everyone nodded in unison, and the team divisions were completed with everyone consciously trying to avoid an uneven distribution of combat power. And they scattered in four directions, starting to search inside the gigantic central control room.

My team was assigned Valentina and Lina, who have low combat power. Everyone probably judged that I could fight to some extent even solo, thanks to my cheat ability that maximizes combat power. It took months and years to gain everyone’s trust up to this point, but I have also broken away from my former self, who was a total loser when I was first summoned to this world. I’ll be careful during the search to protect the two entrusted to me.
”Even so, there are a lot of ‘another world monster’ corpses. Iska was certainly quite strong even solo, but did she have the power to hunt down this many alone…?”
Already, from what seemed to be the entrance, more than a hundred medium-sized ‘another world monsters’ had been defeated, their corpses exposed. Iska, who possesses the [Possession] ability, carries the factors that turn her into a terrifying creature called the Beast of the End. The fact that Rosalinda and Heta died in that way made me worried about whether Iska’s precarious mental balance had been disrupted.
