I’ll kill those ‘another world monsters’… I’ll never forgive them… especially that guy…
What kept me going, despite the pain coursing through my body and the abilities of the absorbed monsters running wild, threatening to scatter my consciousness, was the single-minded determination to eradicate the hateful ‘another world monsters’ who had buried my comrades—Rosalinda, Heta, and Rootless Weed (Deracine).
My body has already been enlarged and transformed by the absorbed mana. The figure reflected in the polished silver walls of the central control room still retains a human shape, but six wings have sprouted from my back, and above my head floats a menacing ring-like object emitting an ominous light.
There’s no mistaking it—I’m no longer human. I am──
Still, barely clinging to consciousness, I slaughtered ‘another world monster’ after ‘another world monster’ as I approached and leaped into this building, where I believed the big boss was hiding. I succeeded in melting and opening what seemed to be the last, thick door with the beam of light I fired from my mouth.
”Come out! I’m going to kill all of you!”
Beyond the melted door lay a room filled with numerous mysterious light-emitting magic devices. In a massive transparent glass tube floated a large silver object—a brain and spine fused into one.
’Welcome, Iska. You’ve killed many of my precious children, haven’t you? Thanks to you, I’ve gathered some excellent combat data. And you seem like a special creature with an interesting ecology. If I analyze you, I should be able to create even more wonderful ‘another world monsters.’
From somewhere within the room, a neutral, toneless voice echoed. But I paid it no mind, driven solely by the urge to destroy the glass tube before me. I fired heat rays from the wings on my back.
”Die! Die! DIEEEE!!”
The heat rays I continuously fired from my wings were repelled by a large silver shield that suddenly appeared before they could touch the glass tube, ending up only destroying the equipment in the room. Smoke began to rise from the wreckage, further obscuring visibility inside.
’Quite the combat power. In this world, you possess great strength. If we combine your power and mine, we might be able to deliver punishment to the Celestial Kingdom (Heavens). This, I can only call fate.’
The voice resonating through the room was different from the subdued tone earlier, almost joyful, which was irritating.
”You took something precious from me. So, I’ve decided to destroy all of you.”
I condensed mana in my mouth. This place had more concentrated mana than where I had been before, releasing a beam of light (laser) with power beyond expectation.
However, the released light beam (laser) was absorbed and swallowed by the silver shield that appeared before the glass tube.
’Analyzing… This is wonderful. To be able to absorb such vast mana within a living body and obtain a form that increases combat power… This power must be akin to that of the gods. You are the owner of the power I’ve been waiting for. The residents who fled here chose to use machines to enhance their combat power. But once we were able to assimilate those machines, the situation was completely reversed. Thanks to that, my body now resembles the silver-colored metal created by the Fairy race.’
”Shut up! I don’t care about that!”
I stopped my attacks with heat rays and light beams (lasers) and switched to physical combat, approaching the glass tube. However, in the next moment, a new ‘another world monster’ appeared from the back of the room in front of me. The new ‘another world monster’ had the lower body of a spider and the upper body of a human, but its head was swollen at the back. In its hands were a magic gun and the silver shield that had blocked my attack earlier.
The three ‘another world monsters’ that appeared began firing to encircle me, as if to prevent me from approaching the glass tube. My newly transformed skin bounced back all the bullets fired by the ‘another world monsters,’ and I suffered no damage.
