Rising-Monk v3c132

Volume 3 Chapter 132 The Intimate Rally Begins!

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The wind from the mountain was cold.

Linca, who lost a lot of blood, looked pale.

Her black hair was messy and stained with blood.

Under her white cloak, her outfit looked like a qipao, a dress women from the East wear. It had golden embroidery and a slit showing her white thighs.

 ”Cough…”

Linca coughed softly, blood spilling from her red lips.

Maybe her organs were hurt when Sarah kicked her.

She seemed weak, unable to heal. If this kept up, she’d die.

Kian took off his robe and covered Linca with it.

Even though Linca was tall for a woman, the robe fully covered her. Kian, now in a short-sleeved outfit, started talking to her.

”You said you wanted to die, right?”

 ”……”

”Have you thought about what happens to your family, the Tsai family, if you die? They serve the Vahid family, so your parents will not be okay, right?”

 ”……”

 Linca closed her eyes.

Her red eye makeup and long lashes fluttered. She looked different from other women Kian knew. He tried to control his feelings and kept talking.

”Jibril will explain why he cut ties with you later. If he removed someone strong like you just because of emotions, others would question him. But you rebelled against Jibril, ruined the plan to catch me, and attacked him. You failed to recover, which was a big mistake. If he just let you go, his subordinates would lose respect. Even if he sent you home, he’d fear you’d rebel again. So he decided to dispose of you—something like that, right?”

 ”────”

”The key is that you rebelled against Jibril. If this gets out, your family will suffer. The Tsai family will be called traitors, ostracized, and kicked out of Vahid’s house and Azrael.”

Kian opened Linca’s eyes by touching her face.

”Don’t run from reality. Don’t give up! You’re the only one who can protect your family and the Tsai name.”

”…But what can I do? I have no choice.”

”There’s still a way. If Jibril thinks you’re still useful, your family can be saved. He’ll change how he explains things to the council. If you stay alive and spy on me, it’ll work.”

Kian smiled, showing his teeth. Linca looked at him like he was crazy.

 ”Hey, what are you doing?”

”I know you’re unsure, but think calmly. Jibril wants to find me, and you’re always near me. That makes you useful. When I face Jibril, if I threaten you, saying ‘think about your family,’ you can defeat me easily. Or, you can offer to return me to Jibril and bring me to him.”

 ”────, ……”

Kian knelt and spread his hands in front of Linca.

”But if you die here, everything ends. Your family will be ostracized. Your parents might blame Jibril, and he might punish them. Because of your choice, your family will be in danger.”

 ”…….So, you’re saying I should live?”

”Yes. To have hope for tomorrow, you must live. Fuse with this Wraith. I’ll prepare the ritual. Don’t resist.”

 ”────”

”Linca, choose. Will you die alone, or live to protect your family?”

 ”────”

 Linca closed her eyes.

 Kian waited nervously.

 Finally, she nodded once.

 ”…Please, I beg you…”

 (Good, I convinced her easily.)

* * *

So, Linca fused with the Wraith.

With ‘glasses’ help, they finished the magic circle, preserved her soul, and reborn her as a fusion, keeping her personality intact.

”How do you feel? Any issues with memory or thoughts?”

 ”No, the fusion seems successful.”

Linca answered, moving her right hand.

She stood up, twisted her body, checked her cloak, and looked at her boots to test her ankle movement.

When done, she sat facing Kian, who was cross-legged.

 ”I’ll return your jacket.”

As she spoke, blood fell from the jacket. Her ‘Penetration’ skill cleaned it.

 ”Thank you.”

”Thank you for saving me. And I’m sorry for attacking you, even if it was Jibril’s order.”

”I also apologize for insulting you during the fight. I was desperate not to be captured.”

 Kian spoke, and Linca nodded.

”Mental attacks are normal. You did what you had to. After the fight, we should think differently.”

 ”I’m glad you’re straightforward.”

Linca clenched her fists on her white thighs, visible under her black and gold qipao.

”Why did you help me, Sir Kian? I don’t understand…”

”I wanted to know more about you. Until tonight, I thought you were just power-hungry. But you went against Jibril to help me. Why?”

 ”There’s no reason. I just couldn’t accept Jibril’s orders.”

Linca looked at her right hand.

”Soldiers shouldn’t question orders. But I was inexperienced and fell for your acting. I admit my failure.”

”If this happens again, will you abandon me?”

Kian asked, and Linca thought hard.

After a while, she shook her head.

”I don’t know right from wrong. I’ll probably get confused again.”

 ”That’s fine.”

 Kian’s eyes sparkled.

If he had his ‘glasses’ on, he would have dismissed her as useless, but without them, he found himself even more intrigued by her.

She was the complete opposite of Kian.

For better or worse, Kian rarely hesitated, easily killed people, and prioritized achieving his goals above all else.

But lately, he had been feeling an anxiety, as if something vital to being human was slipping away. Recently, his ‘glasses’-wearing self had been intruding even when he wasn’t wearing them, whispering demonic temptations to him.

Just as the presence of ‘glasses’ had been putting a stop to his growing cold-heartedness, perhaps this woman could bring about some change too.

He thought she might be the one to purify the increasingly unhinged ‘glasses’ Kian he had become lately.

And simply put, he wanted to steal her skills as a warrior monk.

He had recently had his low abilities as a warrior monk visualized by Sarah. While Sarah was too much of a genius to understand the struggles of ordinary people, Linca was a hard-working type of warrior monk in comparison. He felt that sparring with her would make him even stronger.

”Think of an answer by the time Jibril and I meet again. I’m looking forward to it.”

”I doubt your decision. Keeping me alive will backfire. I’m Sir Jibril’s vassal. I could attack you anytime.”

”Have you seen through my Misty Magic Sword’s range?”

”…At this distance, you’re faster, but if I move closer or farther…”

 ”Move away?”

 ”Like this.”

 Linca fired a fist.

Kian dodged, and the energy hit the ground, blasting gravel.

(This is more dangerous than I thought. Too powerful.)

”…Why didn’t you use it against me?”

”Mid-range is my strength. I thought I couldn’t lose. Looking back, I lacked calmness.”
