Volume 3 Chapter 131-3 Unexpected Reunion

”If that’s okay, then it’s fine…”
”Kian, can you lend me a bat?”
Rean’s sudden request made Kian frown.
”Why?”
”If possible, I’d like Wing Cain, which can fly long distances.”
”What’s it for?”
”To recruit new members. It’s already decided.”
”Oh, come on…”
Despite Kian’s annoyed look, Rean didn’t back down.
”I’ll pay you. I have more money than I’ll ever use. I want to send a letter to the ancient temple past Ramsey and the Great Forest to temporarily recruit members of the ‘Lion’s Companion.’ Will you do it?”
”What if I say no?”
”Then I’ll go to Ramsey and try the Adventurer Guild.”
”Stop it. If Lord Owl hears about it, it’ll be trouble.”
”I don’t know who Lord Owl is, but if I keep causing trouble, they’ll notice soon, huh?”
Kian shook his head.
”Fine. I’ll lend it to you. But only for the Great Forest direction. If you want Ramsey adventurers, you’ll have to go through the Izerland branch, which is a detour.”
”Thanks.”
”The one over there is Yelmar, and the one in the wheelchair is his associate, Umar Vahid. You need my introduction, right?”
”No. I can introduce myself. I don’t want to trouble you more than this.”
”Oh, okay.”
Kian sighed and turned away.
”Kian.”
”……?”
”Sorry. And thanks.”
”Sigh… You don’t have any party members who understand you anymore. Be careful from now on.”
”What about Wing Cain?”
”I’m going to get it now. I’ll be back by noon, so rest. No hunting.”
With that, Kian jumped onto the courtyard roof.
* * *
He was looking for Wing Cain, but Kian had something to do first.
He had to find Linca, who was pushed off by Shura.
For now, after stopping her with Wing Cain, he moved her to the foot of the mountain where no one could see her, but the Wolfmen warriors might track her by the smell of blood.
About the Bloodsucking Kind, even though it’s morning, some are in the swamp, so quick rescue is needed.
Kian slid down the ancient temple slope and quietly moved near the swamp and mountain border. Someone might see him, but since he planned to move Linca further, it would be fine if there were no interruptions for a while.
(‘Glasses’, I want to merge her with Wraith while keeping her consciousness.)
’You want to make her like Lady Sarah, right?’
(Yes.)
When Kian agreed, ‘Glasses’ replied with a grim voice.
’It’s possible, but I don’t recommend it.’
(Why?)
’Think about it. That Eastern woman swore loyalty to Jibril. Even if you make her a servant, she’ll likely betray you.’
(Isn’t Linca abandoned by Jibril?)
’People think differently. If she was abandoned, she might try to return to Jibril with some offering. If she could return with you as an offering, she might think Jibril would forgive her. She probably has family in her country, right?’
(Hmm.)
’I’m not saying anything bad. It’s better to feed on her brain like Natra or Rufna and just inherit the personality.’
(So, you know how to keep Linca’s consciousness like Sarah, right?)
’Well, I saw that white-haired girl do it. Just don’t feed on the brain during the fusion. After that, when Wraith’s soul merges with Linca’s, send Wraith’s spirit form to Linca’s head. A perfect fusion body should be done. For the soul fusion, just chant the magic circle and spell as I say.’
(Then there’s no problem. It’s good I don’t know how to do it.)
’No, then the problem is me…’
(I’m curious to know about Linca. ──I want Linca.)
’Even if you regret it, I don’t care. When the Leap reactivates, what will you do if she attacks you?’
In that case, there’s no choice but to use Misty Magic Sword.
But Kian was sure he could convince Linca.
Not convince her, but present a condition and ask for her help.
She’d probably agree.
”Found it. That’s it.”
Kian looked at the mountain slope where the snow was thin, exposing large gravel. The smell of blood was strong.
On the gravel slope, a large rock was buried, and on top of it, Wing Cain, sent by Kian, was resting its wings.
Kian quickly ran around the rocks ── and found a bloodstained Eastern woman lying between the rocks and gravel.
”…U…”
”Hey, Linca.”
Kian knelt beside her and looked at her blood-covered face.
Her brave eyes were weak from bleeding and tiredness, barely opening her mouth and breathing shallowly.
Her eyes were healing, but her right arm, which Kian recovered, wasn’t; the flesh at the elbow was swollen.
”────”
”I came to help.”
Kian took her body and pulled out a Wraith from his pocket.
As Linca stared blankly, he leaned her against a large rock.
”But I want to respect your will as much as possible. I’ll fuse you with this Wraith to save your life. Your body will change a bit, becoming more like a Wraith. You’ll be harder to kill, and aging will stop. But at the same time, you will be weaker against purification.”
”Please… let me die…”
”You were abandoned by Jibril. Don’t you hate becoming my subordinate?”
”Yes.”
”…Don’t you hate becoming my subordinate?”
”Yes.”
”But if we leave things as they are, you’ll die.”
Kian repeated words like a broken toy, but Linca just shook her head weakly in refusal.
”…Please, let me die…”
’Shouldn’t we reset her personality already?’
”No!”
Kian shouted, then sat in front of Linca, stopping her bleeding for now.
”Listen, Linca. Let’s make a deal.”
”A deal…?”
”Yes. A deal where you can betray me anytime.”
When Kian said this seriously, Linca looked confused.
’I’m confused.’
”Linca, listen.”
Kian grabbed Linca’s shoulders and looked into her eyes firmly, making sure she wouldn’t look away.
”You have a chance to return to Jibril. I can help with that. ──If I say that, will you help me?”
