Volume 6 Chapter 17-2 Moving Magic

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The problem is that the magic bag uses too much mana because it jumps forward in time. If I don’t need to travel through time, the mana use should be much lower.

What if I remove time travel from the magic bag’s magic formula?

Usually, new magic is made by adding to old magic. But the editor skill lets me cut parts out of a magic formula.

I carefully check the formula. I don’t understand all of it, but I see roughly what it does. Luckily, the time travel part is all in one place. I can replace it with a do-nothing command without problems.

Anyway, the magic that sends the stored item to my future self will now send it to my current self. Huh? That means nothing will really happen, right?

Well, I remodeled it anyway. I’ll try an experiment just in case. If nothing happens, that’s a success. It might be meaningless, but these tests help me understand magic better. That’s important.

I use an apple I bought in the royal capital for the test. I hope Newton’s spirit can help. Apples here are small, sour, dry, and not tasty, but they smell good. They’re good for jam and pies. Even unprocessed, the village kids love them, so I give apples as rewards.

I activate the new magic, targeting the apple. It teleports! About 10 centimeters from my right hand to my left.

The mana use is less than I thought. But why does the apple teleport? It shouldn’t move.

I check the formula with the editor skill many times.

The cause is simple. When storing, it uses coordinates based on my right hand, but when taking out, it uses my left hand’s coordinates as the start. I don’t know if this was a mistake or on purpose, but the apple moves because these coordinates don’t match.

When I spread both hands wide and activate the magic, the apple moves more than a meter. I get it now.

With this mana cost, I could probably move a whole house. The short move distance makes it less useful for now, but it could be helpful later.

Next, I want to try on a bigger platform.

”Something the size of a house that can break? What are you doing?”

 ”A little magic experiment.”

I’m already forgetting the original purpose. But if this happens, no one can stop me, okay?

”I don’t care, but don’t do anything dangerous.”

I don’t know the dragon’s idea of danger, but I’ll move it only a little, so it should be fine.

The object lies against the wall of the giant dome. It looks like the Puppeteer’s dungeon but smaller. Maybe an old vehicle—a small spaceship or escape pod.

It broke long ago. Most contents decayed. A romantic idea, but now it’s time for experiments.

Mana use dropped a lot, but my MP alone can’t handle this size. Pii-Pii is reliable for backup. I feel bad using it like a spare battery.

Pii-Pii’s max MP has been rising fast lately, so it pays off to be with me. It helps silently, which might be good for its spirit. I want to thank it somehow, but what do spirits like? Mana covers meals, imagining clothes is enough. Choosing gifts is hard.

Anyway, I place my hand on the spaceship’s shell and pour mana into the formula. Bigger objects need more mana, but since the base cost is small, it’s not too bad. With Pii-Pii’s MP, it’s enough.

The spell activates smoothly and silently. The ship moves, bigger than the Toyata Village church. It only moved from right hand to left, but since it’s big, that’s quite a bit.

By moving my hands, I can move the ship that length. Repeating this magic hundreds of times could move it far.

But that’s a waste of time, effort, and mana. If anyone saw me moving a house like this, it’d be a big rumor.

Can I make the distance longer? I try to tweak the coordinates with editor skill, but they’re fixed to my hands. No luck. If the original magic had options for coordinates, I might have adjusted it.

If only my arms were longer. Like a certain fighting game’s Indian sage who trained to stretch arms meters long.

”Extending arms is easy~desuwa. Watch this.”

Suddenly, the kunoichi Yakou appears. She was hiding perfectly—I couldn’t detect her. Scary.

She stretches her arms like a rokurokubi yokai. Not her neck, her arms.

”No use if I can’t extend my own arms… Wait.”

If she can extend arms, maybe I should merge with her. With bedroom arts, we can unite energies. Maybe then her hands feel like mine.

But that means I have to do that with her. Should I propose marriage? My motives are clearly impure.

”If it’s for my lord, I’d be happy. Being used like a disposable tool is a reward~desuwa.”

Right. I forgot she’s a big pervert. It’s hard to understand being happy about being treated badly, but apparently, she enjoys it if it’s someone she likes. Is this love?

Still, I want to help her with her wild sexual perversion. If I relax, I might get pulled into her strange world. Maybe this is a fight too.

Without foreplay, Yakou changes her body and welcomes me. From a gentle squeeze, her folds wrap around me to excite me… What is this? Mubiel must have taught her, but she’s probably surpassing her master. She has natural talent. I’m glad she’s not an enemy.

Anyway, I can’t resist this pleasure instinctively. Any man would be disarmed by her in an instant. It’s right for a female ninja, but I don’t want other men touching her.

I pull myself together and use the art of lovemaking. I feel power flow through me and merge with her energy. It’s easy since Yakou snuggles close. The fusion rate and unity feel unprecedented. Her arm feels like mine. I extend it.

My arm stretches comfortably. What is a spirit’s body like? Ten meters? Twenty? That’s enough for now. When I activate the magic circle, the spaceship wreck teleports perfectly.

 ”Aah, wonderful. That felt good.”

I climax as the magic activates. The art of lovemaking combined with magic was intense. Yakou moans and wriggles. Even Pii-Pii blushes and looks dazed. We were connected when mana flowed—a triple fusion.

”What? What are you doing that’s so fun?”

I notice a crowd watching. The spirit wives don’t get jealous, but they want to join. Spirits are curious and innocent, but being watched like this is embarrassing.

When I explain, it’s popular, especially with Uno.

”A magician in such a weird outfit is hilarious. You don’t have to really extend arms, just pretend.”

I’m embarrassed. I was stretching arms while still docked in place. Let’s call this a dark history. Luckily, Uno and others don’t have editor skill.

 ”Look closely.”

Uno lights a magic fire on her fingertip, then moves the flame far away. She’s pretending to extend her arm by moving magic only. I think, is this Ant? It looks easy.

”Extend your arm in your mind. Anyone can do it with a little imagination (strength).”

What dragons call “anyone” is something I, a dropout hero, can barely do.

Still, I’m grateful she showed me. Like Columbus’ egg—knowing it can be done makes it easier.

I try to analyze it with editor skill but see no tricks. Is it not magic? Power of imagination or self-hypnosis? Anyway, I try my best.

As I meditate and mutter, everyone gets bored and leaves. I feel a bit lonely but can focus better.

A day passes as I try different things. After 2 or 3 days with no result, I get irritated. But it can take years to learn, so I must be patient.

Luckily, this place is perfect for training. Even if ten years pass here, only hours pass outside.

After ten days, I stop caring about moving houses. It’s now a matter of pride.

Like when I practiced kendama and unicycle without thinking what happens after I mastered them. I just wanted to do what I couldn’t. That became my goal.

Uno and the others watch me with mild interest but never mock me. Uno loves training too.

I forget how many days passed, but one day, I suddenly can do it. I don’t know how, but I managed it. I practice repeatedly so I won’t forget.

I can extend my virtual arm tens, hundreds of meters!

I find I can extend it to the range of Radar Scan. Uno is surprised.

If so, moving a house a few kilometers is easy. I could move all Toyata Village overnight.

The mana cost doesn’t depend on teleport distance. It depends on compatibility between start and end points. I must test on site. For now, maybe teleport Mr. Zenom’s coal warehouse, which isn’t used much?

It’s hard to say goodbye, but I’ll return to Toyata Village soon. If moving works, I’ll tell everyone not to sell their houses.
