Volume 2 Chapter 13 Being Held By Weakness (Physical)

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”Good job.”

 ”Ah, did I wake you?”

”No, I just woke up a moment ago.”

They exchanged words that carried a quiet concern for each other. One spoke proudly, as if a mission had been completed, while the other scratched the back of their head, looking somewhat uneasy.

”So, what now? Should we get some rest? Or maybe eat something? If you want, I can call the maid—”

”Good morning, Lord Klock. Lady Tiet. I see you have returned safely.”

Before Tiet could reply, the Viscount appeared. He must have heard Tiet’s voice from nearby. Klock’s heart jumped briefly, worried they’d woken him, but his formal attire made he clear he had been awake for some time.

”The task is complete. Klock, what about the item?”

”Hm? Oh, I haven’t mentioned anything yet. It wouldn’t be right to decide without you, Viscount.”

Caught off guard by the question about the reward, Klock instinctively offered an excuse. Though Tiet had taken on the mission alone, in an adventurer party, the rest would usually handle the reward negotiations. Not knowing this, Klock had done nothing but wait.

Tiet hesitated at his answer. The fact she didn’t get angry showed she didn’t blame him. Klock sighed quietly in relief.

Suddenly, Tiet pulled out a small pouch. When she reached inside—or rather, slid her arm inside—a white flower was drawn out casually.

What kind of pouch swallows an entire arm like that? It was strange.

Klock raised an eyebrow. The pouch was barely palm-sized, yet it held her arm up to the elbow without difficulty. Clearly, it was no ordinary pouch.

”This is White Peach Blossom. With this, the promise is fulfilled.”

”Oh… Thank you, Lady Tiet. To think you cleared that tough demon domain so easily…”

The Viscount, taking the flower from Tiet, stared at it and the young knight in disbelief. He must have witnessed many such strange events since getting involved with Klock.

 Klock sighed, his expression unreadable.

”Are you heading to the capital soon, Viscount?”

”Yes. I need to turn this into medicine. I want to treat my daughter’s condition before it worsens, and if possible, leave today. Of course, I will consult Lord Klock first.”

”──Then, let us borrow this villa for a day—no, two days—and two gold coins as payment. That will be the reward.”

Tiet suddenly proposed the reward. Perhaps she had confirmed it with Klock because she wanted something specific. But why rent a villa for an urgent trip?

 ”H-Hey, Tiet.”

Klock pressed, questioning the strange request. He had no intention of staying long, and if they wanted to ask for something, it should just be money. Knowing Klock would object, Tiet leaned closer and whispered.

”Hermine is setting a trap. She’s the magician from the hero’s party. We need to be careful, or we might die.”

 ”Seriously?”

Understanding immediately, Klock decided not to argue.

”…I don’t mind, but are you sure it’s okay?”

 ”Ah, then please do.”

”Understood. It’s a remote place, but I hope you enjoy your stay. I’ll assign servants, so you won’t need to worry about anything.”

The reward was settled in an unexpected way: a two-day stay and two gold coins. If it were all converted to money, how much would it be worth? Thinking about that, Klock felt a subtle dissatisfaction.

By the way, they demanded gold coins like it was nothing. Does the hero party always work for such low pay? If so, that means Tiet must be… very rich.

He glanced at the girl beside him. Slightly shorter, a bit arrogant, but surprisingly attractive. Despite climbing mountains all night, she showed no signs of fatigue. She didn’t look like the typical adventurer, nor like someone wealthy.

Klock, who was weak to force, power, and especially money, considered abandoning Tiet at the first chance. But he thought better of it. It might be safer to stay with her until they left the continent.

After this, the group disbanded and headed to breakfast. Though it was morning, for Tiet—who hadn’t eaten or slept—it was essentially dinner.

Watching Tiet devour meat beside him, Klock felt a heaviness in his stomach. At his age, nearing middle years, he could say he was getting old. The only thing that hadn’t declined was his “manhood,” which was either a blessing or a curse.

The Viscount quickly finished preparations to leave. As expected, he seemed eager to return to his daughter. Was her condition that serious? Or was there something else? After the meal, they went outside to see him off.

”You didn’t need to go to so much trouble for us, with all these maids.”

”No, Lord Klock, you are a very important guest.”

As caretakers, three maids remained: the head maid Suzette, Michelle, and another named Dorothea, whom they had not yet met. Though the mansion was large, three maids for three people felt excessive. One would have been enough.

However, if only Michelle stayed behind and Klock’s group didn’t go to the capital, Michelle might not be able to return to her master.

It was about her. On the way back to the capital, for some reason, she had a bad encounter with a monster, and the future as prey was vividly imagined. Perhaps this person had been chosen with that fate in mind.

”Well then, Head Maid, please take care of Lord Klock.”

”Understood, my lord. Leave everything else to me.”

I watched the Viscounts’ backs as they left. They invited me to visit the capital sometime, and with such hospitality, I definitely wanted to take them up on it. But that depends on how things with the trap setter unfold. Depending on the situation, I might have to skip the capital altogether.

”Now then, I want to take a bath. Can you prepare it?”

”Certainly, Lady Tiet. I will prepare it immediately.”

Unlike Michelle, the Head Maid responded with an incredibly pleasant tone, her professionalism evident in every word. Dorothea immediately bowed her head, while Michelle glanced around nervously before following behind.

”Klock, I need to talk with you. Don’t go back to sleep.”

 ”Understood.”

The conversation was surely about Hermine, the magician. She ad said she was setting a trap, but something must have happened while she was out. Klock needed to know more to plan their next move.

 ”…Hm?”

 ”Hm? Is something wrong?”

As Klock tried to follow the maids back toward the mansion, Tiet suddenly stopped, sniffing the air.

”What is it? Do you smell something?”

 ”…Ah.”

Maybe it was the scent of roasted meat or something burning. Tiet’s nose twitched as she kept sniffing the air.

She followed the scent, turning to sniff toward Klock. Her expression shifted to clear displeasure.

 ”Klock… you…”

”Huh? What’s with you all of a sudden?”

Klock was confused. This sudden change was hard to understand. Seeing Tiet’s brows furrowed in suspicion, he took a cautious step back.

”Klock, be honest with me. What were you doing while I was climbing the mountain?”

 ”…Eh?”

Tiet seemed certain of something—something Klock didn’t want to admit. The air grew heavy and silent. The maids had already gone inside, leaving only Klock and Tiet outside. Adelina had gone with them; she was nowhere in sight.

 ”No, nothing special…”

 ”I see? Is that so?”

Tiet twitched her temple, clearly bothered. Klock panicked, unsure why she asked this now. Then, without warning, Tiet grabbed him by the chest and pushed him hard against the wall.

 ”Wha—What are you doing?!”

 Sensing the tension, Klock panicked.

Tiet’s glare was sharp and angry. She was dangerous—a girl who claimed she could defeat dragons—and if she was mad, it was urgent to calm her. But what had triggered this?

Tiet glared up at him, then slowly lowered her gaze. She crouched down and, without warning, pressed her face against his lower body.

 ”Whoa?!”

Tiet took a deep breath, inhaling. Klock froze, confused and embarrassed. Then it hit him what she was doing and why. But it was already too late.

”…I smell another woman on you. Why is that?”

 ”Uh… well…”

Tiet looked up at him accusingly, still close.

”You took a bath yesterday, right? So why do you still smell like her? Don’t tell me you were with someone else while I was working so hard?”

Tiet’s deduction was perfect. Cold sweat ran down Klock’s back. He hadn’t expected her sense of smell to be this sharp.

 ”…No, that’s not true…”

”Be honest. Otherwise, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”

Tiet’s hand slid beneath his clothes, gently rubbing. There, the most vulnerable part—his testicles—were at her mercy.

 ”I’m sorry. I did it!”

Klock quickly gave in to the threat.

Tiet seemed capable of things he didn’t want to imagine. Testing her limits was dangerous.

 ”…Who was it? Adelina?”

 ”…Michelle.”

”You slept with the Viscount’s maid? While I was fighting monsters, you were playing around? You couldn’t even wait a day?”

 ”…I’m really sorry. My bad.”

He thought of saying he punished Michelle, but with Tiet’s hand where it was, making excuses would only make things worse.

”…That insolent servant needs punishment. While we’re at this villa, you must obey me fully.”

 ”…Huh…”

Full obedience. No hope in that phrase.

 ”What? Unsatisfied? I see.”

Seeing Klock hesitate, Tiet’s face turned cold. She stood, stepped close to his face, and tightened her grip.

”Wait?! Okay, okay! I’ll obey! I’ll obey anything!”

Her firm hold on him made Klock surrender quickly. Seeing his pathetic submission, Tiet’s expression softened into a sly smile.

She seemed to have found an efficient way to control men.

She was neither a holy knight nor a demon; more like a demon disguised as a girl.

”I see. Then, shall we go to the bath? If you can’t even wash my back properly, I might start thinking you’re disloyal… and who knows what I’d do then.”

 The girl grinned mischievously.

Klock, thoroughly beaten, was now tasked with proving his loyalty by washing her.
