Volume 2 Chapter 18 In The End, Victory Belongs To

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”Haa, haa… Cla-Cla is the best…”

 ”……”

In a quiet room with the windows shut tight, the muffled sounds of soft breathing and subtle movements filled the air.

”It feels so good… Being with you is amazing… I don’t think I can go back after this… Do you feel good, Cla-Cla?”

”Ah, yeah, yeah. It feels good──”

”Right, right. We’re a perfect match, oh!”

On the bed lay a middle-aged man and a young woman, close together and intertwined. The man’s body pressed gently against the woman’s, who wore only her lower garments slightly pulled down, their closeness unbroken.

With a quiet shiver of pleasure, the man leaned forward, moving carefully as his hands and hips pressed firmly but tenderly. The woman, unfazed by his movements, turned a page of the book she held in one hand, her expression calm and unconcerned.

”It’s incredible. Being with you at this age is truly something else.”

”Mmm, that’s good to hear, Master. Since you kept your promise, I won’t ask for anything else. Just… weekly meetings like this, okay?”

”Yeah, yeah. Don’t worry, I’ll handle the rest. Ah, it’s starting to feel good again… I love Cla-Cla…”

”Yeah, yeah. Stop saying things like that, or the mistress will get mad.”

Clara sighed softly. Her troubled expression wasn’t because her master’s feelings were unusual; rather, her mind wandered elsewhere. Whether reading or being close like this, she couldn’t stop thinking about her senior colleague who had recently retired.

Ignoring the man’s renewed closeness, she thought of that senior. Although sometimes frustrated by her obsession with strength, her absence left a strange loneliness. Among the female knights, the senior had been her favorite, and when she spoke with friends at the barracks, her name came up often.

”Maybe Senior Tiet is somewhere else right now… Maybe she quit being a holy knight and ran off with someone… No, that can’t be. She looked down on men too much. But maybe she was tricked by someone after all…”

 ”Oh-hoo! Oh-hoo! Cla-Cla, I’m! I’m!”

”…Tch, too soon… Ahh, Master, that feels so good──Clara’s getting close too──”

 —

”Hey Klock, admit it──it feels good to have your strength tested by someone you don’t even like.”

Inside the guest room of the villa given to Klock, Tiet, just out of the bath, grabbed Klock and dragged him roughly into his room. Upon entering, she immediately pushed him onto the bed.

They stayed pressed together, with Tiet on top, the atmosphere tense but familiar. Lately, Klock had grown used to Tiet’s forcefulness and no longer complained.

”You acted all cocky and called me a brat──hmm? Aren’t you already reacting again? So quick. Seriously, you have no stamina.”

Half-joking, Klock asked, “Do you like me or what?” But her words quickly turned sharp, as she taunted him like a child, trying to prove her toughness.

Dealing with her was like dealing with a kid, he thought, remembering her fierce holy knight image seemed a lie sometimes.

Sighing, he looked up at the noisy girl. He wasn’t irritated now. He understood what she really wanted, and watching her almost made him want to laugh.

 ”Hey, you──”

”Shut up! I said I don’t like you! I just want you to serve me! You should apologize fast! Say ‘Sorry for acting up, I will obey Lady Tiet for life’ and then kiss my chest!”

He hadn’t said a word yet. Also, what kind of ritual was that?

Maybe it was like swearing loyalty to a princess by kissing her feet or hands. But why did it have to be on her chest?

”Whatever. Hey Tiet, let’s kiss. On the lips.”

 ”W-what? Why would I do that──”

”If we kiss, maybe you’ll pick me?”

No way, but he teased her fully. Tiet gave a sulky look, briefly confused, then lowered her upper body and pressed her lips to his. It was quick, but genuine. Seeing her true feelings made her seem surprisingly approachable.

”What, you’re pretty honest. I think it’s cute when you’re honest.”

”What’s that supposed to mean? Cute compared to Adelina?”

 ”No, just after Adelina.”

 ”D-damn it!”

Tiet’s eyes shined with unshed tears. Over time, her arrogant attitude cracked. Compared to when they returned from the demon realm, she now seemed more like a normal girl her age.

Maybe this was the real Tiet. Compared to the ruthless woman who crushed everything she disliked, this version was easier to get along with.

”Hmph! You dared act arrogant toward me? At least put some effort into those weak moments when you’re feeling pitiful.”

With Tiet still close, she began moving gently again. It hadn’t been long since he’d reached his peak, so the sensations were sharp, but manageable.

”Ah, Tiet, you feel so good.”

”I should hope so. …Hmph, finally ready to admit it?”

She immediately took the bait when he casually complimented her.

Admit what— that she was second to Adelina, or something like that? He was tired of their endless back-and-forth, and now it was time to deliver the final blow. He needed to bring this overly confident woman back down to reality. That would mark the end of this uncertain relationship with Tiet.

”Yeah, I’ll admit it. Tiet is… the second most important to me, after Adelina.”

Tiet’s movements faltered and came to a stop.

Though she had tried to maintain her superiority and dominate their conversation, in truth, Klock held all the cards. She had nowhere left to resist. Whoever said the one who falls in love loses was right. Once Tiet’s feelings were revealed, her defeat was sealed.

 ”…Ugh.”

She lowered her gaze and leaned forward, burying her face against Klock’s chest.

Then, she quietly let out her frustration.

 ”…Uuugh… Uuuuuwaaaaah…!”

Just one phrase—yet it carried everything.

Tiet, who had given in so easily, sank into his embrace and began to cry.

No matter what she said, Adelina would always be the one he chose. The pioneer of the hero’s party, the glorious holy knight, the strongest swordswoman—she had finally been confirmed as someone Tiet could not surpass.

Tiet had always boasted of her popularity and kept an arrogant front in every situation.

Perhaps she never even allowed herself to imagine rejection. Looking back, she had spent so much time switching between anger and desperation, trying to avoid this very moment.

Well, well. So it was serious after all.

He had doubted her feelings before, but now, with this clear display, it was confirmed.

That meant he no longer needed to hesitate in his plans. Having Tiet’s loyalty was a major advantage—no worries about betrayal or hidden agendas. Now it was just a question of winning her fully over.

 Tiet’s crying grew louder.

He gently held her as she rolled over, shifting their positions.

She made no resistance. She covered her face with her hands, crying in a way so pure and vulnerable it was almost too delicate to call childish.

 What a mess.

They say a woman’s smile is the most beautiful, but in this moment, she was cuter crying. If only her attitude had been softer, things might have been different.

He didn’t know when those feelings had started to form, but her arrogance was probably a mask to seem reliable.

Still, she was a woman, and he was a man. If she wanted to appeal to him, she needed more than just strength and reliability.

Maybe that was just how people from Stras did things.

Tiet continued crying, hiding her face with trembling hands.

Still close to her, he resumed their rhythm.

 ”Mmm… mmm, mmm, mmm.”

Though her face was hidden, small sounds escaped her lips.

Being with someone crying felt cruel. Maybe it was. But it was necessary, so he continued without hesitation.

”Mmm… what’s going on? You like Adelina more, right? So why are you still here with me?”

”Huh? It’s fine, isn’t it? Adelina knows I’m with others sometimes. You’re cute, strong, and you make me feel good—there’s no reason not to be with you.”

 He praised her sincerely.

Unable to resist, she peeked at him through the gaps between her fingers, still hiding her face.

 ”Wh-why… but you’re with Adelina…”

”I like Adelina. I want to cherish her. So she won’t belong to anyone else. But you’re too good to leave out. As long as Adelina’s okay with it, I don’t mind having another travel companion.”

 ”…Th-that…”

”Don’t get stuck on ownership or whatever. I want both Adelina and you.”

Basically, there was room for two.

It wasn’t something said lightly, and it was a terrible line in most situations. Most women wouldn’t accept it without some serious reasoning. But how did it sound to her now?

 ”……”

 ”All right, let’s continue then.”

He suggested they move forward again to the now-silent woman.

No answer came, but in this moment, silence was consent.

 The feeling wasn’t unpleasant.

 He’d think about consequences later.

Until recently, Klock had been the one pursued, but now, seeing everything clearly, he had taken full control and was trying to win her over.

Tiet was strong. Her uncertain stance was frustrating, but if she became a true ally, she would be invaluable.

Whether he could guide her depended on this moment.

 ”Tiet, come on, let’s kiss.”

 ”Mmm, mmm, n-no…”

”It’s okay, I can’t see your face anyway.”

He gently moved her hands aside. Before she could pull back, he pressed his lips to hers.

Tiet hesitated for a moment, then timidly accepted, placing her hands behind her neck.

She supported herself with both hands as he shifted his pace.

They moved together, quiet and steady.

The sounds of their closeness filled the room, repeating as the moment built between them.

He held her tightly, preparing to reach his limit. Without breaking their kiss, he wrapped his hands around her neck and waist, drawing her closer.

Silently, he continued, and just before he could no longer hold back, he parted their lips.

”I’m about to reach my limit. I’m not yours, but this is for you.”

It was a statement that came too late, since he had already crossed that line many times before.

If it mattered, it might already be too late—but feelings could still change things.

This time, what he offered was for his own sake, not hers. For Tiet, withdrawing meant a break, while going forward risked being used and discarded—a far cry from what she had hoped.

 ”……Mmm.”

 Yet Tiet nodded faintly.

For her, who had lost this round, there were only two choices: be left behind or continue this bond.

She clung to him tightly, eyes closed.

The hope for continuation outweighed her fear of loss.

She wrapped her legs around his waist, holding on.

It was the umpteenth time that day.

He moved with force, pressing close as if to leave an impression, without any intention of truly responding to her feelings.

Her whole being seemed so full that it felt like it couldn’t take any more of him.

Some traces slipped away quietly, falling softly onto the bedding beneath them.

”Ah, I’m done. I really meant to make things serious, so I gave it my all.”

He didn’t truly mean it, but he added those words to make the point clear.

If she was going to decide, it had to be now. He didn’t want her to change her mind later—he wanted a decision here and now.

 ”If it happens…”

 ”Hmm?”

”If it happens… what will you do?”

”Well, you know, the three of us — me, Tiet, and Adelina — will take care of it.”

Having a child wouldn’t mean leaving Adelina behind.

It was a clear declaration: as long as she accepted it, he wouldn’t discard Tiet.

If she didn’t accept it, then she would be discarded, no matter what.

 ”…I understand.”

Tiet agreed, her expression heavy and distant.

As she closed her eyes, a single tear slipped down. He gently wiped it away and tousled her hair.

Though childlike in gesture, she didn’t resist.

 She had grown quite meek.

 ”…Huh? Are you okay?”

 Suddenly, her eyes seemed unfocused.

He thought it was just shyness, but her reactions felt strangely dull.

”Yeah. I’m a bit sleepy. I’ve been awake too long.”

”Ah, that explains it. You pulled an all-nighter, didn’t you?”

Now that he thought about it, she had been pushing herself through challenges without rest. If she had been so busy, no wonder she was exhausted.

”You can sleep here. Want to keep going until you fall asleep? Or should we stop for now?”

 ”…I want to sleep.”

 ”Oh, that’s good.”

It’s common to drift off after so much, but it’s hard to rest while still caught up in it.

When she wakes, he would have to be gentle—show her how things worked with him.

”…Why are you suddenly being so nice? You care more about Adelina, right?”

”Huh? It’s fine. I treat my own well.”

”…That’s so low. Surrounding yourself with two women.”

”What’s wrong with that? Not every woman wants only one thing. They want many things, and that’s normal.”

It might be strange to compare it to objects, but it was similar.

Women want many clothes and jewels, and men want many women. That’s just how it is.

Well, it’s not like they’d be together forever. If six months passed and they drifted apart, he wouldn’t complain.

”…You better take care of me too. If you don’t, I’ll take you down before Anna does.”

”O-Okay. …Come on, just sleep now. I’ll hold you until you do.”

He felt a flicker of intimidation from her momentary threat.

He’d almost forgotten—she had monstrous strength. If things got complicated, she might really come after him, so he needed to be careful.

 …This was something else.

 Like holding a ticking bomb.

Useful, but a hassle to handle.

To get along with her, he’d have to carefully watch her mood.

For now, what he needed was—

”All right, all right. Good job. Now, rest well.”

He stroked her hair gently, offering quiet encouragement.

Conditioning was important—teaching her how to get what she wanted was the key to control.

 ”…Huh?”

As he brushed her damp hair softly, he noticed no response.

”Hey, Tiet.” No reply. In that instant, she had fallen asleep.

 Wow, that was fast.

 Seriously? Well, it was fine.

 Was she really that tired?

Klock, who believed winning someone’s heart was more about aftercare than anything else, was caught off guard and dozed off too.

Though Tiet’s feelings seemed solid now, it wasn’t uncommon for things to reset after rest.

It would have been better to handle it properly, but since he had fallen asleep, there was nothing to do.

 Ah, well, whatever.

 He’d just take another bath.

Even though he had bathed recently, he hadn’t washed properly.

He’d been busy attending to Tiet, exhausted and distracted, unable to relax.

Either way, after all that time together, he wasn’t exactly clean.

Slowly rising from the bed, he grabbed a towel and left the room.

 ”──Whoa?! Adelina?”

As soon as he stepped out, he ran into Adelina.

She was standing right there by the door, looking a bit dazed. The sudden sight startled him.

 ”What are you doing here?”

If she wanted to say something, she could have come inside. Why wait outside?

Maybe she noticed something with Tiet and was waiting quietly. Or maybe she heard noises and just stayed put. Still, waiting without knowing when he’d come out seemed strange.

 Their eyes met.

He tried to speak, but she said nothing. Adelina slowly moved closer until she was right in front of him.

Then, without a word, she crouched and reached for him.

 ”……”

 She didn’t speak.

He knew Adelina did things on her own terms, but sometimes the timing made him wonder, “Why now?”

Once, she surprised him during a chase, and that was shocking—but this, right here in the hallway, was just unusual.

 ”Mmm… chu, churu…”

Without a sound, she began her quiet work.

She took him gently, carefully tending to him.

Ah, damn. Adelina’s touch was just amazing.

Soft, tender, easing away the fatigue.

Exactly what he needed right now. She always seemed to know how to read the situation and give just what was needed. Sometimes, it felt like she understood everything without words.

After all the time with Tiet, he wasn’t fully ready, but the feeling was still good.

Almost like a calm stroke rather than a wild rush.

Seriously, this was the ultimate relief.

Holding himself steady, he didn’t want to slump. If there’d been a bed, he’d have sat down and let himself enjoy more.

But here in the hallway, he had to decide: either pull Adelina inside to be private, or finish quickly before anyone noticed.

 …No rush. Today, finish fast.

He chose to end it quickly.

Taking her to the bath was an option, but no—he was tired of everything now.

 He gently stroked Adelina’s head.

She clung to his waist, paused briefly, then began working harder with her lips and tongue.

 ”Good. I’m going to finish.”

She probably would have known anyway, but he said it out loud.

Adelina didn’t reply, only moved faster, more focused.

A short while later, just as she began to slow, he quietly reached his limit.

With a soft spurt, he let go.

The moment she felt it, Adelina tightened her hold and swallowed deeply.

The tip slipped far back, the rest flowing smoothly down.

 Ah, amazing.

It was like being cared for and released all at once.

More like letting go than fighting for something.

No effortful moves, no worry about what’s next—just this simple act, this moment.

Once it was over, Adelina started licking him clean.

She was gentle but thorough, careful not to overdo it, restoring him bit by bit until she finally released him.

”All right, good job. Great work today.”

Easier than sex, more satisfying, more thoughtful than anyone else—Adelina.

Her presence was a quiet comfort.

He pressed his lips to her forehead and stroked her hair, showing thanks.

”All right. I’m going to take a bath now.”

 She nodded softly.

Wiped her mouth and swallowed a few times, maybe still feeling the sensation.

Seeing her look a little uncomfortable, he decided to bring her some water first.

Soon after, he entered the bath, leaning against the rocks and relaxing.

 His body still tingled slightly.

The fresh memories of wild moments with Tiet had faded without him realizing it.

Now, only the gentle touch of Adelina’s care lingered.
