Volume 6 Chapter 10 Gidegant’s Circumstances

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ──Space froze.

That was the illusion, and their faces stiffened.

When those feet—light, floating—touched the ground, that familiar fear surged again, like the time with the blond girl swordsman—

 ──The nearby forest rustled.

As if the world itself answered the call.

Was it all for her? Or just fear of getting burned?

 ──Space, the world, the ground—shattered.

Gouged, pierced, razed. One simple step, and the grass and earth erupted into the air. She leapt forward at full speed.

 ”ORA!” Gildegant shouted.

What kind of technique was that?

Her movements weren’t sword or spear, nor traditional martial arts. But from the precise way she handled her body—this had to be her own custom-crafted fighting style.

She spun. Behind her in the clearing, a tower of hellfire spiraled skyward.

Trees whipped by the orange flames blackened instantly, toppling with a hiss of smoke.

Even the grass she’d just brushed turned to charcoal.

Beasts caught in the blaze—no sound, no scream—just twisted black shapes.

The animals’ cries from before vanished. Silence cut sharp.

Then came the crackle—applause of burning.

The air thickened with the stench of grilling meat.

 The lemon-haired woman turned.

Blue flames unraveled around her arm, dissolving.

She wore a casual outfit, like someone from a sleepy village, completely off-guard.

That flash of the fire-warrior was gone—all that remained was the undercover general back in disguise.

”Tsuee. Big Sis, seriously-ssu, you’re unreal,” Klock said.

Klock had just witnessed Gildegant’s raw power—no filter, no edits.

He blurted out his admiration. She laughed softly, as if it was obvious.

”Of course. This one’s one of the Demon Lord’s Army’s Four Heavenly Kings.” Gildegant flicked her hair, showing off.

Maybe she sensed Klock’s genuine awe, because she preened.

He really thought she was incredible.

 Because—

 Shit.

 What the hell was that?

One blow had turned an entire stretch of road into a charred field. The wagon had passed here just five minutes ago.

This wasn’t even a deliberate strike—just wild power. One swing, and the forest was gone, burned to ash.

It didn’t even seem like her best shot.

She was terrifying when it came down to it.

”Thank you for your work. We appreciate you cleaning up after us,” Suzette called from the reins, polite as she glanced back from the driver’s bench.

”No problem. Food and patching up later, alright?” Gildegant said.

She slipped into the wagon, landing on the rattling bench, then buried herself in a blanket.

With a “flop,” she rolled over, sprawling casually and propping her arms behind her head.

”Still, next time, keep in mind—wasn’t just strays. Plenty of stubborn monsters out there,” Suzette warned.

”Ussu. Didn’t think they were actually tailing us-ssu,” Klock replied.

What Gildegant had incinerated were the three strays that had attacked Klock’s group yesterday.

Maybe not the exact same monsters, but these types remembered faces—and kept coming back.

Suzette didn’t know what kind of things they were.

Back in her hometown, monsters always got slaughtered. No exceptions.

Klock barely left his town. To him, monsters were just animals with magic—nothing more.

”So hey, where did you say we were heading again?” Suzette asked.

 ”Boorinel town-ssu,” Klock answered.

 ”How long’s that gonna take?”

”About five or six days, probably.”

 Gildegant knit her brows.

When she gave off that fed-up vibe, Klock picked up on it.

 Straight-up bored, he guessed—and agreed.

”That’s way too long. I’ll take you—let’s fly, come on.”

”Eh… we’re flying? Carriage and all?”

”Huh? Obviously we’re ditching the carriage.”

When he politely refused, she flopped over, radiating pure I-don’t-care.

 He wanted to move—badly.

But the carriage wasn’t theirs, and there was baggage to consider.

How were they supposed to fly anyway? Maybe Klock would carry Suzette, and Gildegant would carry Klock? Ridiculous. From the outside, it’d look absurd.

 He endured the crushing boredom.

 The boredom of boredom itself.

Time with nothing to do was excruciating.

When you walked, at least you moved.

But gliding along by carriage? No escape from the gnawing drain of time.

At noon, after lunch, he took the reins from Suzette.

Gildegant curled up for a nap.

Suzette sat beside him, refusing to slip into the wagon bed.

”I want to see the scenery,” she said, adding, “I still don’t forgive you, you know”—her icy act unprovoked.

He let her talk and zoned out as the journey rolled on.

The sky stretched perfect and blue.

The world rolled green for miles.

Near evening, they switched again, Suzette taking the reins.

He tried sitting beside her—and that’s when Gildegant called him over.

 It had been boring.

Now there wasn’t even anyone to talk to.

 Torture.

 She called.

 Klock dropped into the wagon.

She pulled him unceremoniously, halfheartedly, then toppled him inside.

She mounted him fast, reached down, and grabbed his crotch without warning.

 ”…Oi, Big Sis,” Klock said.

Born to nobility, he’d run off young in a fit of feeling.

Now he was gutter material, but his old memories stuck.

Somewhere cramped in a corner of his mind was a nugget of knowledge—

 ”Whip it out,” Gildegant ordered.

Apparently, during war or disaster, when jobs vanish, birth rates spike oddly.

T/N: Both the data and birth rates.

”Big Sis. Just because you’re bored—Uwah!”

When adults have literally nothing to do, options are scarce.

Point being: nothing’s left for a man and a woman with too much time but to have s*x.

 That was cold data.

Right now, Gildegant was experiencing the worst kind of surplus boredom.

”Man, yours is just way too big and downright nasty. What the hell are you supposed to do with a d*ck like that?”

”Then why’re you touching it, huh?”

Her hand slipped straight under his belly.

On instinct, he grabbed her thin arm, but brute force couldn’t pry her off.

If he pushed back too hard, he’d bruise his pride.

If he let her, she’d do whatever she wanted.

Klock, clueless how to handle this, put on a genuinely troubled face for Gildegant.

 ”Big Sis. I’ve got Suzette—”

”Huh? What’s that, Klock? You’re totally hard, aren’t ya?”

Gildegant threw it out loud and obvious.

Suzette, on the driver’s perch, could hear every word.

 ”Eh? No, I’m not—”

”Sheesh, hopeless brat. Getting turned on by the boss even though you’re the underling. Get over here, then. I’ll suck you off.”

Just like that, she had her excuse for manhandling her ex-subordinate’s boyfriend’s c*ck, fingers dragging the sleeping guy out.

 She’d seen him just yesterday.

He still remembered her soft lips.

The wilted sea cucumber twitched once.

She moved in, face close, not hesitating—taking him in her mouth.

 ”Nn… stinks…♡” she whispered.

Guess it always ended like this, he sighed quietly, hands up in surrender.

 Sorry, Suzette.

Just let her blow me for a bit, he thought, apologizing to her in his head.

Probably if he looked back, they’d meet eyes—but he didn’t have the guts.

And then she swirled her tongue around his, deep in her mouth.

Wet, noisy sucking. A sharp jolt raced up his spine.

Gildegant fiddled with someone else’s junk just for the hell of it.

The bigwigs really did whatever they pleased, he thought… but today it got shut down immediately.

”Please stop that, Lady Gildegant,” Suzette said. “Why are you doing that to him? He’s… the one I… uh, do that with.”

From behind, Suzette climbed onto the wagon with heavy, clumsy steps and opened her mouth.

Guess she’d dropped the act—tossed aside the reins and come over just to object.

”Do that with…? Ah, right, he’s your boyfriend,” Gildegant said.

”Yeah, well. That’s why—if you look at it normally—you’re not supposed to make a move on him. I mean, it’s cheating.”

”Cheating’s only on his end. I’m just blowing him as a reward. Licking p**sy’s just service. Serving’s exactly that kind of thing.” Gildegant waved off Suzette’s objection with bizarre logic.

She jerked him off, hand wrapped tight around his cock, staring Suzette straight in the face. Playing with another girl’s boyfriend like it was nothing, right in front of her.

”…Stop. Get away from him,” Suzette’s voice dropped a notch.

 Wait. Suzette.

Irritation radiated off her in waves. Klock froze, legs sprawled, d*ck in someone else’s grasp.

Gildegant’s hand stilled. At the same moment, the air inside the carriage chilled.

 ”…Oh?”

Weren’t you not supposed to go against the General?

Klock asked with his eyes, but Suzette ignored him and glared at Gildegant instead.

Anger radiated from her like heat.

This wasn’t the kind she ever aimed at Klock before. No, this was the kind of hatred reserved for an enemy.

Apparently, Suzette had gotten so fed up with Gildegant’s repeated bullshit that she couldn’t hold back anymore—pissed enough to forget all about seniority or whatever.

Klock panicked at the sudden staring contest—one spark, and everything would blow.

He was struggling because his dick was still being grabbed. He wished she’d stop that immediately.

Two women, crosswise, with him caught in the clutch between them.

He begged with his eyes, silently: Just—peacefully, please. At least, could you let go of me?

He glanced between the two, hoping. Then Gildegant let out a sharp little laugh.

”What, you jealous or what? Didn’t even f*ck, right? I’ve got somebody chosen for me, you know. I’m not gonna cross that line. I’m not that much of a bitch.”

 Not… a bitch?

He almost let it show on his face but swallowed it back.

 ”…Ha. ‘Somebody chosen,’ huh.”

”Yeah. Both his body and soul belong to this big sis.”

”That big sis picked my partner. Honestly, I’ve gotten horny and almost broke it a couple times, but whatever—I’ve at least kept that part safe.”

So, in other words, a virgin? Or something like that?

 Surprising. Too surprising.

He’d thought she was out there snacking her way through pretty boys from every country—or innocent kid-looking types, whatever.

But if that was the case, wasn’t it even more taboo to do stuff like this, right now?

”So big sis decided your marriage partner or something?”

”Nah, not blood-related. Like a boss, you know? Like I’m to you—just above. My boss, so for you, probably the big boss.”

Her boss was one of the Four Heavenly Kings. So basically the demon king?

This generation’s demon king was supposed to be a guy, though. Or was it someone else?

”So all of this was really just nonsense, huh? Meaning you weren’t actually trying to steal him away from me?”

”Hah hah hah, as if. Just that you two kept sneaking off to screw without me, and it ticked me off! Plus my arms and legs’ve been prickling all day—stressed out as hell because of it.”

With that, Gildegant released the shaft.

She peered up at Suzette with a half-lidded, narrowed gaze—like she was testing her.

Suzette looked away after a beat, cheeks flushing. Apparently, Gildegant had watched them getting it on outdoors this morning. From behind, probably.

”…So then, why’d you make it so obvious Suzette would catch us? I really thought you didn’t approve of me and Suzette being a thing.”

”Huh? If you’re sneaky and hiding, that makes it sound like actual cheating, idiot. I don’t care about anything but your d*ck, moron.”

 That’s… definitely bitch territory.

”Well, seemed like you sure wanted to bang me, huh? I wouldn’t be against tossing a little reward your way… but you’re weak as hell, aren’t you? I can’t feel a scrap of magic power on you. Not gonna work. Even if you’ve got a great c*ck, I don’t need weak loser genes. You wanna screw me? Get stronger than my boss first.”

Gildegant slapped Klock’s shoulder with a wide, sneering grin.

He’d said a hundred times Suzette was the only one for him—didn’t remember giving any other vibe, not ever.

What the hell was she saying in front of his girl? And, hang on, who’re you calling ‘loser genes’?

He denied it in his head and glanced sideways just a tick.

Just meeting Suzette’s eyes could probably kill you—such a slicing stare she launched straight at Klock.

He shook his head hard. Like: he never wanted to set this up, not for a second.

But man, that look. That look was garbage.

Maybe she never trusted him at the core. Maybe it was everything he’d ever done.

”Uh, so, by the way, what kind of person are we talking about?” Klock asked.

He turned his face away in one swipe, trying to change the subject, shoving the freed hostage back down into his pants.

This was about the limit. He needed to yank Suzette’s attention off him, fast.

”Beats me. Some, I dunno, mentor, master, something-or-other of big sis’s.*”

”Someone who’s the Big Boss, for me, I guess.”

 ”Ooh, sounds pretty wild.”

Big Boss. What does a Big Boss mean to one of the Four Generals of the Demon Lord?

Is that the Demon Lord, or what?

Anyway—he threw out a suitable uh-huh to keep the conversation rolling.

”Don’t even know their face or name, honestly. Just apparently, I’m gonna be their toilet.*”

T/N: Toilet = benki, a word doubling as dehumanizing sexual slang. Yes, literally that.

 Huh. Okay, sure.

 Toilet, though…

Crack. The air inside the carriage froze.

He was about to say, “Huh, neat,” but it shriveled in his throat.

 ”…Toilet?”

”Yeah. Well, in the end, I’m just something to be used up at the top. That’s all it is. I use you, big boss uses me. No matter how tough you get, the world’s still gonna get you, you know?”

 Way harsher than he expected.

 ”I mean… marriage, or… something like that?”

”Who knows. Could be more like a concubine thing.”

 She waved her hand—no clue.

No way it’s the main wife if they’re saying ‘toilet.’ If it’s just a side-room for making kids, well, that tracks. Doesn’t make it less gross, though.

Such a tactless word, and now Klock frowned.

Gildegant was supposed to be top brass.

In human countries, that’s Duke, minimum. And this woman was called a toilet? How does that work?

 Klock and Suzette exchanged looks.

Then both clammed up, totally silent.

No way to understand what the hell was going on inside the Demon Lord’s Army.

Could someone that high up really get treated like that and it was just normal? Why does she even—why does she accept it?

Or maybe—she’s such a monster only someone even scarier could treat her that way.

”Uh, don’t you mind, or, like, have a problem with it?” Klock asked.

He didn’t know if that was okay to ask, but curiosity won.

He stared hard at her expression, trying not to get his head bitten off.

”Huh? Nah. I mean, at first, sure, I was like, what the hell, right? But bottom line, if someone can treat me like shit—like I’m just for them to use—that means they’re crazy strong, yeah? Guess I can live with that,” Gildegant said, grinning sharp as a blade.

”This Four General of the Demon Lord’s Army, big boss’s right hand—me—I’m just meat for bed, something to make ’em feel good every night, that’s all. Not that I wouldn’t tear the place apart and try to roast ’em alive if they really pushed it, but if someone can hold me down by sheer force and turn me into a cum dump, hell, they’re strong enough that I’ve got nothing to complain about. I’ll give ’em a couple brats, two or three, if that’s what they want.”

 Who’d survive that, really?

Or maybe she’ll just marry a dragon or something.

Even in myth, you don’t get a wife this batshit crazy.

”They say Lady Gildegant serves the Demon King’s daughter,” Suzette whispered.

”Yeah. Been with boss since we were kids, you know!” Gildegant said, clapping his knee. Her grin split wide, goofy and proud. She bared her teeth, happy someone finally asked.

”Always. Since before I even knew which way was up, I was under her wing. When we were kids, she’d boss me around—send me on errands, call it practice but hand me jobs like stealing, mugging, that kind of crap. Told me to rough up anyone acting tough, so I’d go smash ’em. We staked out turf, kept expanding it. Whenever I got beat by some crew somewhere, she’d jump in. With one flick of a finger? Everyone half-dead in seconds. Didn’t matter—adults, any race—in the end, they dropped to their knees for her. Straight-up god tier. I figured I’d stick around for life, y’know. Swore loyalty back then. Hasn’t changed. Now we’re grown, me and Lyla are her right and left arms,” Gildegant said, suddenly talkative.

She loved telling this story. Names poured out so fast Klock couldn’t keep up. The conversation raced ahead, leaving him in the dust.

She caught the gist: she must be one hell of a character.

Anyway, she’d been living in a world Klock didn’t know. That got through, at least.

Suzette nodded along to Gildegant’s words. Only Klock sat silent, feeling dumb at the table.

Not worth complaining. Klock was old enough. If you just nodded and let it wash over you—that’s what being an adult meant.

Gildegant kept bragging about her boss, going on way longer than expected.

Klock dumped the whole “her” thing on Suzette and headed off to the horses—smart enough to keep walking whether there was a driver or not.

The part about someone yanking his dick got lost in the long-winded rambling, never addressed. T/N: Gildegant seems to have been talking about having his penis handled, but they don’t circle back to that detail.

 Night was falling fast.

They’d need to find somewhere to sleep.

With that, Klock grabbed the reins and started prepping for the end of day two—somehow long, somehow gone in a blink—and whatever the night threw at them.

That roar they’d heard leaving Rizan village.

The sound of thunder, back again, right after.
